Is Mariah's "Art Of Letting Go" pushed back... again?

It's obvious that Mariah Carey's album The Art Of Letting Go is having a difficult time seeing the light of day. May 6 is quietly dwindling as being the official release date for Letting Go... where's the promotion? Let's take a look at the order of events, shall we?

Major setbacks and changes have occurred since it was announced that the megastar vocalist was working on a new project back in 2012. Back then, she dropped the single "Triumphant (Get 'Em)", which was (at first) billed as the project's first single, but failed to chart on the Top 100 and was then retitled as a buzz single. The summer of 2013 saw the Miguel-assisted official single "Beautiful" hit No. 15, but Mariah injured her shoulder while filming the remix video, which delayed the album's progress. Originally supposed to drop on July 23, 2013, the LP was pushed back further, allegedly due to Mariah putting the "finishing touches" on the project.

During the recovery period for her injury, Mimi hired longtime friend and producer Jermaine Dupri to manage the "new era" and album. They released the single "The Art of Letting Go" in November 2013 on Facebook, which also failed to chart in a way that a Mariah single is used to charting. Then, to coincide with Valentine's Day, her and her team release "You're Mine (Eternal)" (the remix ft. Trey Songz), which got the double video treatment, but the song only reached No. 88 so far; very low when it comes to Mariah single standards. Some fans are frustrated, blaming the lackluster singles and slow-trickling promotion on the new management under Dupri.

Also try to remember: her last album, 2009's Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel, dropped prior to the birth of her twins Moroccan and Monroe, and any parent know the challenges of balancing childrearing with a career. Has being a mother slowed Mariah's career a bit? And now, as May 6 is only a few weeks away, there's no promotion around the album that's supposedly set to drop on that day. Even her label Island Def Jam has taken the date down from the official website.

No word on a new tentative date, just more silence and more questions. So what gives? Roomies, what do you guys think are reasons for the multiple delays?
