Katy Perry is trying to destroy Mariah Carey's career
Get ready for your daily dose of crazy, everyone. According to a theory that's somehow actually gained traction online, Katy Perry has some kind of beef with Mariah Carey, and she's not expressing her rage in the ways you might expect (talking trash on Twitter, sleeping with Nick Cannon). No, Katy is trying to destroy Mariah's career!
Back in March, Katy subtly threw shade at Mariah, describing the R&B icon as "fabulous... for a throwback". Conspiracy theorists claim that was just the latest in a long line of low-key disses, and believe that Katy is doing everything in her power to bring Mariah down.
The extremists believe that pretty much everything KP does is an attempt to ruin Mariah. (Katy and Hillary Clinton are BFFs now, Mariah. You may want to consider moving abroad!) Perry has even gone so far as to involve Iggy Azalea in the alleged feud. That's Iggy's new song, "Black Widow" mashed up with Mariah's "Thirsty". Pretty similar, eh?
What's this have to do with the Katy feud? Well, Katy wrote "Black Widow" and then gave the song to Iggy instead of recording it herself. Mariah reportedly scrapped plans to release "Thirsty" as the lead single off her new album after hearing an early version of "Black Widow". Around the same time, Katy reportedly canceled plans to mock Mariah in a music video, as she decided against going public with their diva beef.
