Mariah Carey is taking "The Elusive Chanteuse" on tour

It looks like Mariah Carey wasn't lying when she promised that there was more to come from her Elusive Chanteuse era. Earlier today, the diva announced a "world" tour in support of the under-performing album, which is set to kick off in Japan in early October.

Titled The Elusive Chanteuse Show, the tour already has 12 dates set for stadiums and arenas in Asia, but there's no word yet on whether or not Mimi will visit any other continents. Speaking about the tour, Mimi said in a statement, "I want to experience the spontaneity and emotion that I put into this album on stage with my fans. I can't stop writing songs so don't be surprised if you hear a brand new song that I just wrote the night before the show in your city!"

Mariah has an enormous fanbase in Asia, so touring there "which will include her first ever concert in Mainland China" guarantees a huge, probably sold-out crowd. This tour will be a lot different than her last one, 2009's Angels Advocate tour, which saw the diva unable to sell out theaters and halls in the States.
