Mariah Carey's arm is back in a sling
Mariah Carey sustained serious injuries while filming the remix music video for her single Beautiful in the summer of 2013. And it seems the injury may have had lasting effects, as the 44-year-old was spotted wearing a sling as she grabbed lunch in Beverly Hills on Wednesday. While the cause of the injury is unclear, the singer is likely being cautious as her upcoming Las Vegas residency is only about a month away.
Mariah sported a natural look, showing off her corkscrew curls as she made her to lunch in Beverly Hills. She donned a chic, salmon-colored blazer, which she paired with a fitted black tank top and black skinny jeans. She accessorized with a pair of strappy black heels and hid her eyes behind over-sized black sunglasses. Lastly, the mother of two wore her right arm - on which she also appeared to be sporting a brace - in a sling during the outing.
Mariah has yet to comment on the sling, but it could be the result of an injury she incurred while falling on the set of the remix music video for Beautiful. In October of 2013 she revealed to Extra that she had originally downplayed her injury, saying: "I dislocated my shoulder, my ribs. There was nerve damage. It was very serious and I downplayed the seriousness of the situation."
Mariah has been spotted consistently sporting her sling and/or brace, likely because she wants to be safe ahead of her upcoming Las Vegas residency. The hitmaker is set to begin the residency - titled #1's in honor of the singer performing all 18 of her No. 1 hit singles - May 6. She made the exciting announcement in January on The Ellen DeGeneres show, along with the news that she would be releasing an updated version of her compilation album #1's, which would also contain newly recorded music.
Recently the songstress performed a few of her hits alongside new The Late Late Show host James Corden in a clip for the show. At first the 36-year-old thanks the singer for joining him for the ride, noting: "the traffic is so bad", before attempting to lighten the mood by adding: "Can I put the radio on?" Mariah's greatest hits begin to play and James convinces her to sing along, after which the two belt out versions of Thirsty, Fantasy (Bad Boy Remix), and Vision Of Love.
In other news, the singer is currently split from her husband Nick Cannon, who she shares her three-year-old twins with. Mariah and Nick married on her private island in the Bahamas on April 8, 2008, after just six weeks of dating but Nick confirmed their split in August 2014 after months of speculation.
The 34-year-old actor is now rumored to be dating model Jessica White with sources suggesting the pair have been dating for a few months and that she has even met Monroe and Moroccan - indicating the seriousness of the relationship. (Mail Online)
