Mariah makes confidential settlement with ex-assistant

According to Yiser Oliver, it was tough work working as Mariah Carey's assistant. And in a lawsuit she claimed the singer failed to pay her for more than 4,000 overtime hours and also refused to let her take breaks to eat. Carey has settled this lawsuit and the details of the settlement are confidential.

In court documents Oliver, 44, accused Carey of violating labor laws, claiming Carey had her working up to 16 hours a day, seven days a week without ever being compensated for her overtime. Despite the alleged mistreatment, Oliver worked for Carey between May 2007 and June 2014 before finally quitting.

According to Oliver, her responsibilities included cleaning Carey's New York home, packing her suitcases, as well as taking care of her personal needs. Oliver accompanied Carey on trips and handled her personal and private correspondence.

The lawsuit has been pending since last year and Carey never legally responded to Oliver's accusations, reports TheJasmineBrand.com. But now Carey's camp says a settlement has been reached and her lawyer filed documents on May 12 concerning the settlement. "According to the lawyer, the deal will be fully executed within the next 30 days. As a result, both parties informed the court to take off all hearings and deadlines for the case due to them working out a confidential deal," reports Black America Web.
