Mariah planning staged wedding at Valentine's Day gig
Superstar Mariah Carey is working on turning her 2016 Valentine's Day gig in Las Vegas into a full-blown romantic affair by offering two lucky fans the chance to marry onstage. The We Belong Together hitmaker recently extended her residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace into next year (2016) and will now serenade devotees on the most romantic day of the year (14 February 2016).
However, Carey wants to take the show one step further and invite a couple to wed in her presence - with the singer offering to serve as a bridesmaid. During an appearance on U.S. morning show Live with Kelly and Michael on Friday, she said, "Somebody may or may not - this is what we're going for - they may or may not get married as part of the package with me. I mean, it's Vegas. I could marry them, I guess, technically, I could get ordained, but I'd rather be on the sidelines, a bridesmaid, throwing flowers, some rice." (Contactmusic)
