Will Mariah have a statue of herself at her wedding?

She's only just announced her engagement to Australian billionaire James Packer just weeks ago, but Mariah Carey is said to be moving full steam ahead with her wedding plans. The Hero singer has apparently begun organising her big day already - and it looks set to be a very lavish affair.

Mariah, whose diva demands have been well documented over the years, reportedly wants fireworks, elephants and a statue of herself as a mermaid incorporated into the wedding. "She wants carnival rides and a giant circus with baby elephants, white tigers, jugglers, acrobats and clowns," a source told Australian magazine Woman's Day. "There will be fireworks, a marching band and a flyover by military aircraft."

The 45-year-old star, who has twins Moroccan and Monroe with former husband Nick Cannon, is also said to be planning to serenade James with a a special version of her hit We Belong Together. She and James, who first met in Aspen at a film premiere in 2014, confirmed their engagement last month and Mariah recently joked about her enormous engagement ring, telling E! News, "It's so heavy I can't lift my arm up! No, it's a nice chunk."

The pair have both been married twice before. Mariah was wed to Nick from 2008 to 2014 and music mogul Tommy Mottola from 1993 to 1997. Meanwhile 48-year-old James was previously married to Australian singer Erica Packer and former model Jodhi Meares. His wife-to-be, who has sold more than 200 million records worldwide, recently spoke about her reputation for being demanding, saying she'll "always be a diva".

"‘I'm still always going to be a diva in certain ways, and I don't mean that in the bad sense of the word," she told Entertainment Tonight. "I just mean, like, if there's a make-up artist there and they don't mind touching me up while I'm directing." Mariah's reps dismissed the rumours about her extravangant wedding plans when contacted by Metro for comment.
