All That Glitters
What's with "All That Glitters"? The film that will mark the cinematic debut of Mariah Carey has had more problems getting off the ground than a hot air balloon weighed down with the diva's platinum discs. Carey is supposed to play an '80s club singer who hits the big time when she's discovered by a DJ. After several delays, a shooting date is set for July in Toronto.
Carey is now in the studio with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, who have also masterminded records by Janet Jackson, Human League, and Color Me Badd. "I'm going to be singing six songs in the soundtrack," Carey said back in January. Observers hope the disc will emulate the success of Whitney Houston's "Bodyguard" offering. (VH1)
