Album review

Despite countless career ups and downs, including numerous no. 1 hits, a high-profile divorce and a disastrous turn at acting, Mariah Carey's latest album can silence all the skeptics. At 35 years of age, Carey seems comfortable with the direction her music is going, using special guests Nelly and Snoop Dogg and employing producers such as Jermaine Dupri, The Neptunes and Kanye West to help craft a modern, urban sound.

R&B songs like "Stay the Night" and "Mine Again" cover familiar territory that showcase her multi-octave voice, and more club-ready tracks, including the hit single "It's Like That" show that this diva's reign is far from over.
