Merry Christmas dual disc out now

Well it's definately drawing to that time of year, where only one CD is allowed to get played over and over. The classic album "Merry Christmas" is re-issued this year with bonus goodies. So if you are a huge fan of what some say to showcase Mariah's huge vocal range, then pop into your local store to buy it. International fans can buy the re-issue online. Here's a review of the re-issue from All Music Guide.

A decade after its release, Mariah's Christmas album still ranks amidst the top of pop music's most milquetoast holiday offerings. Save for the up-tempo Motown flair of "All I Want for Christmas Is You" and the Phil Spector-penned "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home,") there is very little remarkable about this 10-song offering. The remake of "O Holy Night" with the "Vision of Love" backing rhythm track is mildly sophmoric and reeks of rushed product.

So why reissue this in DualDisc format? Simple: Bonus features galore. "Anniversary" remixes and bonus tracks, along with several new animated (yes, animated) videos, live performances and a few original clips from the album's intial release. It's not the stuff dreams are made of, by any stretch. But fans looking to replace their well-worn copies of Merry Christmas from the first go-around, or those who just didn't purchase it originally, definitely have a reason to this time.
