Steps in the right direction

It's called "All That Glitters", and it's a new film starring actress-singer Mariah Carey. But it's also a metaphor for a golden opportunity given to some Toronto dancers, who are trying out for a part in the film. But in a room full of literal "movers and shakers", how do you pick the best?

"I choose the dancers that fit the scene," says Choreographer Neisha Folkes. "(The dancer) might do exactly what I want, but she might not exactly fit what's required from the script." And they have to meet the big three requirements: Style, Personality and Technique. So what do the gyrating hopefuls think? "I think I have a great personality," says a confident Rhett George. "I'm persistent, I'm workable, as far taking directions." And did he mention he's humble, too? But Erin Miller sums it up for most when she says "It's all luck, I think." The movie will hit theatres early next year.
