Mariah to learn how to play guitar and country twang

To avoid a box office flop like Glitter, Mariah Carey is taking her role for the new movie Tennessee extremely serious. According to the New York Daily News, the Grammy award-winning songbird is scheduled to go to a dialect coach to develop the twang and drawl that she'll need to play an aspiring country singer in the impending Tennessee film.

In addition to developing the apt vernacular, Carey is also reportedly learning the guitar for the role. With this kind of strong effort and determination, inside sources don't see another Glitter performance in store for Mariah. "She's hungry for it," producer Lee Daniels, told the Daily News. "She's jumping through fire hoops."

A release date for Tennessee hasn't been announced as of press time.
