Billboard updates

This week, Say Somethin' drops 2 places on Billboard's Hot 100 chart, after peaking at number 93. The song received 13 more airplay adds this week and is currently played on 178 stations. It had 15.468 million audience impressions from 3296 spins in 3 formats (Mainstream, Rhythmic, Urban).

Say Somethin' is keeping its bullet. This means that the song has increased its overall performance when adding airplay and digital sales, yet other moves in the chart bumped it down. The most interesting move for Say Somethin' this week is in the video realm where the song is seeing significant daily increases.

Even though video play is not counted for airplay figures, it does help in promoting the song and it tends to help digital sales. Part of the reason behind the video play increases may have to do with an apparent release of a newly edited version of the video.

Yet, these video play increases have yet to give the song a boost in the digital sales area where it is still increasing but at a very slow rate. Hopefully Say Somethin' will hold or increase in terms of airplay in Pop and Rhythmic, where it has already been sent, until the song hits Urban the first week of May.

Fly Like A Bird moves up to number 6 from number 20 on Billboard's Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart. It was the 3rd most added single this week scoring hits across Adult R&B and Urban formats. With 7 more airplay adds this week, the song is now being played by 110 stations. It had a total of 9.619 million audience impressions from 1629 spins.

If Fly Like A Bird manages to get around 20 million audience impressions, it could make a low debut, or not make a debut at all in following weeks on Billboard's Hot 100. Currently, the only format where it is gaining impressions is Urban AC, where it will probably gain for weeks to come. Yet those gains won't counteract what it is losing in other formats.

The Emancipation Of Mimi moves up 4 places to number 79 on Billboard's 200 album chart. Last week, it sold 11,786 copies (-22 %), making a total of 5,556,669 copies.
