Americans vote "top 25" worthy of a millennium toast

What do Julia Roberts, Michael J. Fox, Tiger Woods, Bill Gates and Jimmy Carter have in common? They have been chosen as public figures who are most deserving of a toast this year, according to the results of a national consumer survey, commissioned by Waterford Crystal. The survey reveals the "Top 25" Americans who best epitomize five universal toasting themes: "Love," "Health," "Happiness," "Prosperity" and "Peace."

According to the survey results, the "Top 5" Americans worthy of a toast to love are: #1 Julia Roberts; #2 Rosie O'Donnell, #3 Tom Cruise, #4 Barry White, and #5 Susan Lucci. Right behind the "Top 5" toast-worthy for love, according to the survey, are Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow, and sensational singer Ricky Martin. Other lovable Americans cited include: film heartthrob Brad Pitt, who recently tied the knot with actress Jennifer Aniston; favorite leading man Tom Hanks; and widely popular singer Mariah Carey. A few politicians were also cited as worthy of a toast to love, including President Bill Clinton and former president Ronald Reagan. A more spiritual interpretation of "love" garnered a few votes for the Pope, as well as Billy Graham.
