Almost honeymoon

Alive. It's the title of his latest release. And now we know why. While people were talking about the "infidelity" of his girlfriend Mariah Carey, and saying that Carey was more preoccupied with the upcoming marriage of her ex husband (and Sony boss) Tommy Mottola to the "goddess" Thalia than her own partner (Luis). While they talked about how his heart was wounded and that he was depressed as in few other times in his life... while they said that his "reign as the King of Latin Music" was over, and the crown would soon be handed over to Ricky Martin, who's latest cd "Sound Loaded" would surpass him in record sales. While they talked about how his weight had gone up and his self esteem had gone down... while they talked about this and talked about that, Luis Miguel Gallego Basteri, Luismi, Micky, like his cd titled "Vivo" (alive) lives on.

Now time for a little envy - The island of Barbados, the Caribbean sea... Caray! Luis Miguel with Mariah Carey? Together in their swimsuits, suntanning on a luxurious yacht. Laughing (at those rumors?), gazing at each other, caressing each other, kissing. Etc. Etc. Etc. Okay, so they're young - but wasn't "separation" the only word you would hear in reference to them? Listen to the recent news ringing out: "Mariah has been so happy these past two years with Luis. He's everything she's ever wanted in a man: attentive, romantic, youthful, lots of fun to be with" says an unnamed source close to Mariah. "She wouldn't give him up for anything" she adds, putting an end to any lingering doubts.

And that's not all. It seems that Luis Miguel knows how to keep his woman happy. While wrapping up his sold out concerts (Amarte es un Placer 1999-2000) and the live cd of the same, Luis never let a day pass without calling Mariah on the Canadian set of her movie "All that Glitters" promising her that as soon as her work was done they would go off together and relax on vacation.
