Mariah: I never lost my faith

Mariah Carey has apparently shown her support for Britney Spears, revealing she believes the singer can recover from her personal troubles. "I think anybody who loves music and is committed to the game can do whatever," the Emancipation Of Mimi singer said in a radio interview with E!

The 38-year-old went through personal struggles herself, when she was dropped by her record label and had a highly publicised breakdown in 2001. Mariah credited her faith as a source of strength for her successful comeback.

"You know what, I never lost my faith in God and that's the main thing," she revealed. "For me, it's about my personal relationship with God and just feeling centred and just not letting anything really penetrate that. That's something that's sacred for me, that I have for myself, no matter what."

Mariah, whose new album E=MC2 is out on Monday April 14, also commented on the showbiz rumour mill, admitting it can be "annoying". She said: "One of the rumours I heard was that I spent 150,000 dollars on plastic surgery. What in the ham sandwich do they think I did? It's very annoying."
