Mariah Carey gets some bling
Mariah Carey had an earring malfunction yesterday afternoon at the Four Seasons, and her
assistant reached out to the concierge desk for help. Jeweler Jeff Kellmer was summoned
and took the earring and its mate to his shop, where he fixed the hinge with a laser and
did some rhodium plating to make them sparkle again for the concert at the Tower Theater.
When he returned with the earrings, he said, he met with her stylist and personal assistant
to offer another option: Wear a pair of pavé earrings and matching diamond bracelet from
his inventory. And so Carey put the repaired earrings in her jewelry box and wore Kellmer's
loaner. Kellmer got to keep an eye on the loaner baubles from his front-row seat.
