Mariah Carey debuts new Christmas single "Oh Santa"

Mariah Carey's new christmas single "Oh Santa" (produced by Jermaine Dupri), has finally debuted. I like it. MC has really captured the Christmas feel, and the jingly urban-pop production is very catchy and camp. It has all the makings of a holiday hit. The harmonies are absolutely amazing and those whistles at the end were totally empowering. Okay, so even if they were digitally enhanced, you have to be working with something in the first place. After all, studio tricks can only get you so far.

Has anyone noticed that she saves all the important high notes til the very end for many of her latest recordings? It's as if she does it to remind people she can still hit notes but does not use them during stages of the song that require it. This was not a problem during the early stages of her career. I would love to see her perform this live on some type of Christmas special. I hope she shoots a music video for it really soon.

The festive song is lifted from her upcoming Christmas album, "Merry Christmas II You", which hits stores on November 2nd. What are your thoughts on the song?
