Re: Wedding song (98,170) (98,172) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I was thinking of that too. Such a beautiful song, beautiful melody and beautiful lyrics. One of her most underrated #1's.

My niece has said she wants Thank God I Found You as her wedding song. So that's the first one that came to mind.

So Blessed lol, just kidding. I heard people say "When I Saw You" would be a good one, but it might be a bit dramatic. But if we're going dramatic, then you can't really go wrong with "Till the End of Time". I can see "Whenever You Call" or "Joyride" as well.

Charmbraclet Tour MP3 (98,167) by Robert-Anthony from United States
Does anybody have a mp3 download file of the Charmbraclet Tour that surfaced on internet during MC's Las Vegas Palms Residency? The MDJ website has been shut down.

Wedding song (98,166) by Littal from USA
Hi all, happy pride month. Was hopeful that someone would have suggestions/lists on best Mariah song for a wedding?

Mariah and George Michael (98,165) by Mara from United States
So I was going through some George and Mariah songs on YouTube searching for rare ones from both of them, and came across a mix of "One More Try" like a duet of their vocals mixed and it was my dream come true for me wishing all my life that they had done a duet/collaboration together. Whoever did it, did a great job. From there I came across a mix of Cry Baby and Careless Whisper - those two songs amazingly work really well together and are worth checking out too, especially the end add libs to Cry Baby mixed with George and the end of Careless Whisper. I only wish I could get someone who is talented in that area to finally mix both their versions if "You and I" since they both covered that song beautifully and make one complete song like MC on the first verse and GM on the second. I don't know who I can ask to do that, but maybe start with the ones who mixed OMT. I know their voices would sound so good on that song mixed together. Mariah being the huge George fan that she is, needs to hear those mixes on YouTube though.

Re: Undeniable MC (98,163) (98,164) by Mara from United States
While I get what your friends say, I have to admit that that sound is the sound I totally live for. There is something so magical about the sound of Mariah's whistle tone and she def seemed to put it more on the back burner for Caution and used it more sparingly. I think the way she uses the whistles in Somewhat Loved is what I love. That second verse where she says "Sprung out of control" sounds so good. I played the song on repeat in my earbuds on a walk the other day and it gave me that pumped up Triumphant vibe making me motivated to get moving. There is no doubt this is a full on Mariah style vocal arrangement and I'm here for it. I'm just glad she has a new song to turn up and listen to in the summer months. I'm just having fun with it for now and can't wait for more new MC material.

Undeniable MC (98,163) by Robert-Anthony from United States
Somewhat Loved shows that MC is not going [to] stop including her whistle notes or whispery tone in her songs. I played Somewhat Loved at my party last night attended by non-Mariah fans. Each one said that [it] is definitely a Mariah Carey song. They commented about how they wished she would stop with all of the whistle notes. One of [my] friends said that the bridge in Somewhat Loved was too much.

How does ABMB sound like a classic 90s song and yet simultaneously sound so fresh and current? Never gets old.

Re: Somewhat not feeling it (98,157) (98,160) by Mynn from Planet Lamb
So did y'all notice at the third chorus after the bridge, when Mariah sings "there's no such thing as lovers and friends" she kinda sounds like 2005 Mariah? Lol. Someone in the comments of a Mariahxlambily video pointed this out, and I've been obsessed with that part since. Or I guess 2006 Adventures of Mimi tour is more accurate. But the 2005-2006 time period is what her tone during that particular lyric reminds me of.

Re: Promotion (98,153) (98,159) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I like the song from the first listen. The beginning is wonderful dreamy with a retro feeling, the breaking my heart line is very cool and "adidctive", but at around 2.35 it's bit much going on.

You're right that it's stange that there's no promotion by Mariah. And only featuring?

Re: The lyrics (98,149) (98,158) by Terna from Nigeria
Oh, I didn't know that but now it totally explains the disjoint which by the way after a few spins isn't as obvious. The song definitely gets better the more you listen to it, which is a good thing.

Re: Revisiting videos at random (98,154) (98,156) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
The "With You" video is stunning visually but would not have a playback value for [a lot of people] outside of Mariah's core fan base. One of my favorite shots is of her laying on the floor with her hair and dress fanned out, she looks like the "dancing girl" emoji. Butterfly era was Mariah's video peak. Every single video was amazing, whether it's the visuals, the plot, the execution and of course Mariah's own beauty (Butterfly era Mariah is my favorite look), everything was just next level amazing. Each videos also represented the song's mood so well. With "Honey" giving the sweet but sexy liberated look, "My All" and "The Roof" showing the sexy but vulnerability the protagonist is feeling, "Butterfly" and "Breakdown" amazingly showcasing the vulnerability and loneliness of the protagonist with stunning visuals. Every single video is amazing from that era. Her next video peak was "TEOM", every single video from that era was so high quality and just pure perfection.

Re: Revisiting videos at random (98,152) (98,154) by Bill from the UK
I love the With You video. It's so classy and I love her in those black and white trousers towards the end. This is a great post because I also did the same the other day. Honestly, how good were the Butterfly videos? Every last one of them was a gem. Honey, Butterfly, Breakdown, The Roof, My All. Just excellent and her look then was that of a liberated young elegant R&B queen.

Promotion (98,153) by Tyler from USA
I think the song is ok but definitely not a comeback single. I also think it's a bit strange MC hasn't posted anything about it on her page. She even posted about her "cookies" the other day. It's also no where to be found on her Spotify page. On top of that she's list as the "featured" artist. I think it's very clear MC isn't a fan of the song and doesn't want it to be associated as a Mariah single. She is aware she only has one chance to get it right and this isn't it nor an appropriate representation of her new music. I think JJ/TL approached her about their album and she committed as she's a fan of their work.

Revisiting videos at random (98,152) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
So I was just randomly revisiting some of Mariah's videos, random order and had a few random thoughts. I watched "Infinity" first, haven't seen that video in a long time and looking bad it wasn't a bad video, minus just the scenes of her awkwardly bopping in the closet in the black dress. So overall not a bad video and I loved the sequence were all 3 of her "suitors" make cameos. I then switched to "A No No". Although I'm iffy about the video (the color palette and all is great though) I still can't fathom that this song didn't make a bigger impact. No one can tell me had Ariana or someone like her sang this song it wouldn't be on the top of the charts. I really wish she had Cardi or Nicki on this track and gave it more of a push. "I Don't" is a hot mess haha. Mariah looks hot but that's about it. "With You" a beautiful song, but no replay value. Mariah looks stunning though, but that won't push a song.

Re: Caution deserved better (98,148) (98,151) by RibbonB from USA
Those are good choices and yes in that order. I think Mimi likes to play too much and single and dabble with her babies and hedge her bets instead of picking a strong plan and working it. She likes to test the crowd, but there is rarely lamb consensus and the general public doesn't care, or has the attention span of a gnat. She has to focus on strong, well crafted songs, or she can just keep playing and having fun.

Caution deserved better (98,150) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
Caution was a step in the right direction musically in my opinion. I understand that Epic released WY because they wanted to MC to appeal to the AC audience again. The single choices should have been 8th grade to represent the ballad side. A No No to represent Top 40/urban radio Caution to represent pop radio and Giving Me Life to represent R&B, and hip hop formats or the distance for R&B/hip hop radio.

Re: The lyrics (98,141) (98,149) by B from USA
Jimmy and Terry confirmed that Mariah had already started working on Somewhat Loved when she brought it to them, and they said that they took the song in a different direction, so the complaints about the song being disjointed are valid it was done intentionally.

Re: Caution deserved better (98,142) (98,148) by B from USA
I think they should've released 8th Grade, Caution, and Giving Me Life as singles.
