Mariah at the Golden Globes (80,302) by JCS from United States
I must say, she looked great at The Golden Globes. The hair, the dress. Good job whoever her stylist is.

Re: Nose (73,060) (73,062) by JCS from United States
I first noticed the change in her nose while she was doing an interview while promoting "You're Mine", especially when she would smile. I also suspect that this affects the way she sings. If you look at earlier videos and interviews, there have been subtle changes through the years.

In honor of 7/11, I'm watching WiseGirls again today.

Mariah and Whitney / Twister (59,248) by JCS from United States
I was just listening to Twister (from Glitter) and although I know she wasn't singing about Whitney, I was imagining that she was. I'm a big fan of both of them (and Celine too). None of today's artists have the magic that they do.

Re: Bye Bye (58,918) by JCS from United States
I'm just speculating. Perhaps Bye Bye was chosen because the subject matter is the death of a loved one. Maybe they thought that it would have the same success as One Sweet Day, which is also dealing with death.

Re: What Mariah song brings you to tears? (58,883) by JCS from United States
For me, it's Mariah's Theme (Can't Take That Away). I also relate to Close My Eyes, Twister, and Petals. Of course, Bye Bye and One Sweet Day are the saddest. Especially, the acappela version.

Underrated songs with chart potentials (58,880) by JCS from United States
I have rediscovered and have renewed admiration for some of Mariah's songs as I listen to them. "Angels Cry" (solo version) has great lyrics and strong solid vocals. H.A.T.E.U. has a straight forwarded radio friendly pop sound. If they only had better music videos and promotions, I think these songs would have been big hits. I've also been enjoying "I'm That Chick" lately. Happy New Year everyone.

Re: Mariah's "blackness" (55,003) by JCS from United States
Even with the one drop rule (if you have one drop of black in your blood, then you're black, for those outside the U.S. who didnt know) I believe Mariah has always identified more being biracial than being black. Early on in life she saw the difference between her parents and she just didn't belong in one group or another. Also, her white mother raised her so I imagine she can't just exclusively identify as a black child. We see more multi racial/biracial kids now but in the 70s it must have been a really confusing thing for a child to experience. Just going by physical looks, it's probably easier for BET to accept Rihanna as a black artist than Mariah.

Mariah in Israel (55,002) by JCS from United States
Let me just say how nice it is to see Mariah cover up her chest area in Israel. It actually suits her. I'm all for changing it up a little once in a while. I wish she would get a stylist that will get her to look sexy but classy. I think some of the mainstream fans were turned off because at times it seems like it's all about the breasts instead of all about the music.

It's tea though (53,745) by JCS from United States

My top 3 #1s (53,655) by JCS from United States
Vision Of Love - When I first heard this song, I thought it was Whitney Houston. And then I realized it wasn't. I still knew this girl was special and gonna change the game.
Hero - It's a special song. Great message for confidence and self esteem.
Emotions - That voice, that range, that power. Such a fun uptempo song to play while driving around.
And I love that these songs are not break-up songs. All very positive.

Ideal single for Mariah (52,807) by JCS from United States
So I'm wondering, people here have expressed either love or hate for Infinity. Now, if it was upto you, what kind of song do you guys think would be the best kind of single for her? Either one of her recent tracks that's not released as a single or someone else's single. I think Meteorite would have been a good single. Or something like "Ghost" by Ella Henderson. What's your pick? Go.

Mariah and Michael Strahan (52,806) by JCS from United States
That's a cute pic of them. They'd make a cute couple. He's single isn't he?

Mariah's live tracks on iTunes (52,644) by JCS from United States
Hi all. Just reminding everyone that Mariah's live album at the Pearl Palm is on iTunes. I guess it had a release date of April 9 but I didn't know. Was it ever announced here?

Re: All I Ever Wanted (51,112) by JCS from United States
I love this song. I have a Whitney-Mariah playlist and this song comes after "I Will Always Love You". This is how the rest of the playlist looks like:
I'm Every Woman - Now That I Know
All The Man I Need - Anytime You Need A Friend
My Name Is Not Susan - Someday
All At Once - Love Takes Time
I Belong To You - Sent From Up Above
Whenever You Call - I Believe In You and Me - Lead The Way
You Light Up My Life - Open Arms
The Greatest Love Of All - Hero
When You Believe
I Didn't Know My Own Strength - Can't Take That Away
I know, Im a Whitney-Mariah dork.

Duets and #1's album in one go (50,315) by JCS from United States
People are saying she should re-record her #1 hits while some people are saying she should do a duets album. Well, why not hit two birds with one stone? Mariah should re-record her number 1 hits as duets with some of the biggest names in music with new arrangements. She should do it with Beyonce, Rihanna, Usher, Ryan Tedder, Michael Buble, Sam Smith, etc.

MC needs to work with Ryan Tedder (49,795) by JCS from United States
Mariah needs a hit. Mariah needs a new sound that's catchy and radio friendly. Ryan Tedder is the answer. I'm a big fan of his band OneRepublic and the hits he wrote and produced for Beyonce, Kelly Clarkson, Leona Lewis, Jordin Sparks, Maroon 5, Ella Henderson, U2, Natasha Beddingfield, Sara Barailes, Train, etc. I think during an interview he had said something like he'd love to work with Mariah. It worked for a while but I've had enough of collaborations with upcoming rappers.
