Mariah Carey's voice (49,786) by Danny Cedar from uk
If you are to believe Mariah's voice is a gift from God then you could suggest now the current deteriorate is punishment for abusing and misuing it in any way she has. But if you are of thought it isn't a gift from God then you have to accept all the factors that contribute to aging and natural deterioration like any part of the body. I don't think it's all down to drinking, there have been many good singers who drink and still perform. We don't know the details but I am sure that if Maiah could privately address the problems with her voice she will and has and that no positive conclusion has come about so she carries on doing what she does and can take the backlash from the fans and media because she can't help or control it. Being more professional would be a suggestion and better attempt at lip synching would be more respectful.

Vegas (49,713) by Danny Cedar from uk
How on earth is Mariah going to manage Vegas? I don't think it's gonna happen. Sorry. If her ticket sales were suffering before this, they will certainly diminish now. I just wish she would release a few albums suited to her voice now and then be able to sing them live and have fun with a new twist on an occasional old song. Even Stevie Nicks' voice has changed. If Vegas goes ahead it's going to be the end of her, that "mega star" associate just won't cut it anymore.

Andrew (49,682) by Danny Cedar from uk
Andrew your last post was very annoying. I didn't even read it all. I don't want to be rude but it isn't appropriate to post long anecdote messages like that. It's almost flooding.

Professionalism (49,557) by Danny Cedar from uk
One thing Mariah has always had through anything is her professionalism but just lately she hasn't been acting professional or respectfully to the people paying for her shows or albums. I love Mariah so much I will always support her but she needs to reign it all in. I actually think watching the latest performances although disjointed and shocking (watching her walk off stage mid climax of WBT) it's kind of funny too in a nice way she makes me laugh because she's such a diva and can at the minute get away with it and she actually a endears me. I don't mind paying to see her lip sync so long as she makes the effort to hide it. I also think it would be wise and damage controlling to discuss a little bt of her private life, directly but not going into too much detail just so everyone knows what's going on and then she can move on to the music and let the general public know that the no. 1 diva is back.

Fame (49,432) by Danny Cedar from uk
One thing we all know and probably what we love about Mariah is that she loves fame and loves to be cheered and photographed. Why wouldn't she? She's incredible. So I don't thinks that's something she will ever let go. Even when her babies were born she kept in the limelight. Forever may she shine.

Vision of love (49,349) by Danny Cedar from uk
Is it just me or does anyone else here think Vision Of Love isn't Mariah's best song? I've never really liked it or the arrangement and it's not vocally anywhere near one of her best. Obviously it's iconic as it's her debut song and sound and is well written but I just don't get the popularity. Also I wouldn't choose it at all for a wedding or love song. It's very personal to Mariah and a sort of introduction to her journey to where she began in 1990.

Lifestyle (48,974) by Danny Cedar from uk
Do you think in this day and age Mariah is able to comfortably sustain her lifestyle? Sure she has made good fortune over her career and continues to generate income but I wonder if that is part of her drive especially now she has children. Her outgoings surely must be breaking even with her income now she isn't doing big sales. The tours are likely to help which might be a positive thing as we make expect a new album and a another tour in the following 12 months.

Mariah (48,357) by Danny Cedar from uk
Mariah is a beautiful human being with a gift as fragile as it is precious and we should all remember the joy she gives us in many ways. Her children are obviously priority now over her career as it should be and trying to juggle the level of work ethic that's natural to her offset against being a mum with her personal and professional life under such scrutiny takes a very strong person to comprehend it all. She's doing these shows for us and for herself she's hasn't hair given in and gone away she shows humility and pride eveytime she goes on stage. We should cut her a break and enjoy her life along with her.

Walter (47,862) by Danny Cedar from uk
I think Walter is a pratt. Sorry but he is. Sour grapes and clinging on to the past is all he is. Mariah has moved on and on so many times since Walter.

Retire (47,520) by Danny Cedar from uk
Maybe if everyone is so unhappy and critical with Mariahs current voice then she maybe should just retire? That's how all your messages are heading towards. Shouldn't we just be greatful she is touring and recording?

Mariah can't win (47,182) by Danny Cedar from uk
Mariah. If she doesn't sing live she's criticised, if she sings live she is picked apart and scrutinised. If she releases a brilliant album with great vocal moments people ignore it. It seems to me she can't do anything positive in the media/fans eyes. What we all should remember is Mariah is a performer and she's on tour, it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world to lip sync some songs especially as she is human. We know how long it takes for her to record an album and a song and all the nuances so imagine recreating that every night for an hour and half she's a perfectionist and she doesn't have the time on tour. I say give her a break be thankful she's actually wanting to tour because if I was her and I was getting this backlash as well as after my personal problems I would give it all up and think of some expletives to send your way.

Endless lists (46,930) by Danny Cedar from uk
I agree these thousands of lists of songs is pointless nobody reads them and I don't get why people do them. It's good to celebrate Mariah's songs and I suppose doing a fantasy "set list" is cool but some go on and on and on for a long time and clutter up the message board gets boring. Maybe people can private email each other these organised lists instead?

Similarities (44,508) by Danny Cedar from uk
"Chanteuse" reminds me of so many of Mariah's earlier work, which I think are little references. Cry reminds me of something from her first album, e. g. Vanishing. The arrangement and the very end reminds me of Butterfly when she sings "cry". The beat of Faded reminds me of Inseperable. Make It Look Good, Your Girl the way she sings it. Camoflauge, The Wind mainly the arrangement and vocals. Thirsty, Migrate, YDKWTD, I'm That Thick. Anyone else notice any similarties? Whether intentinal or not, it's very much down to the individual.

Well it's a wrap (44,116) by Danny Cedar from uk
I am pretty sure now the entire album is telling us whats going on between Mariah and Nick, if you listen to the lyrics of each song. And she has said previously it's a journey. Even to how the album is sequenced and the reasons The Wrap and Betcha Gon Know are included and the parts with Mary at the beginning, Mariah has never been so subtle. Also One More Try is very appropriate. I'm obvously speculating but I wouldn't be surprised taking into account Mariah's childhood they are keeping up appearances for dem babies and this is her outlet. Might be wrong.

Pride of lambs (43,235) by Danny Cedar from uk
Does anyone else get such a great sense of pride seeing our Mariah get so much attention from a crazy crowd, reminds you how intense and exciting it is when your in the middle of all that. Mariah is the definition of superstar.

(43,234) by Danny Cedar from uk
I know the context of "The warning" is not good but does anyone else think that aside Mariah and Eminem would have made an awesome tune?

Almost Home / new album (40,778) by Danny Cedar from uk
I think Mariah should really at this point in her career (at her most experienced) come up with a killer one word album title. Yeah TEOM did well and had a longer more complicated one but times have moved on it needs to be catchy, relevant and snappy. I don't like TAOLG as a title or song tbh, they are the worst in her career. Almost Home was a brilliant song, catchy and well sang with some nice "nuances". It would be nice to see this as a bonus track. The album has to be flawless to give her a well needed boost as recent appearances and interviews suggest although getting more of the "real" Mariah is not translating well to the general public. If this is no longer as important to her then she should scrap albums and do more shows and continue with her works such as the publications and theatre, which I think she would be excellent at, and some minor lip synching would not go out of place there.

Fans (37,415) by Danny Cedar from uk
I honestly do not get all of this "oh I'm not the hardcore fan I used to be" or "I dont listen to MC like I used to" I have read on here lately. Why are people feeling the need to say this? It's irrelevant. If you're no longer the fan you were, fine, but you really don't need to waste your time logging in and writing a post about it. A fan grows with the artist and the reason we became a fan of Mariah is much more than just the music and MC has plenty more loving lambs.

Mariah (37,397) by Danny Cedar from uk
I feel fans or say lambs (I'm a lamb) are being a tad judgemental in Mariah and even each other. First of all, this is just opinion based, Mariah Carey is a household name, her name alone raises anything to high profile because of who she is. I doubt the AI team care who has better judging style. People will tune in and see Mariah Carey hence x amount of millions. Secondly, I think she is presenting herself well on Idol and is candid and enjoyable to watch. Compared to some more abrasive comments, Mariah has found a place in judging style and what would be the point in her being the opinionated one when there are already a few on the panel she makes her point and she does give valid opinions and puts the contestants at ease after negativity cast their way. Thirdly, Almost Home is a great song and suits a Disney movie like Oz. It's sang beautifully, catchy and should please the media eg Perez. I think lambs should have an opinion, but remember Mariah is human and her babies are more important than her career, saying that the album is going to be amazing.
