Re: Christmas concert pre-sale (78,270) by Joe from United Kingdom
Hey, guys were wondering if you had to pay for Honeybfly fan club membership or if you can sign up for free as I'm not a member yet but want to get tickets through the pre-sale. If someone could let me know I'd really appreciate it.

NYE performance (70,684) by Joe from United Kingdom
I aint posted here in awhile but here goes. I got love for Mariah, I even went to see her at the Sweet Sweet Fantasy tour in London where she did a good job. I'm just at a point now where I'm like I'm not gonna make any excuses anymore. I have to be real, people already don't wanna see you win which is sad but what can you expect when everytime you sing on national TV where it counts where everybody will be watching you either completely lip-sync or make an unrehearsed embarrasment of yourself. I actually think when she wants to she can still sound pretty good, her improvising and freestyle moments show that. If you ever want to sing on TV again sit on a chair, drop the glamour, drop the I gotta have the right camera angles, forget going on stage with a glass of wine in your hand, drop the key of the song to what you can manage, rehearse it and sing the song. You are a singer. I understand not having anything to prove but have you completely lost sight of what made people fall in love with you in the first place. I'll continue to be a fan but this is just getting a bit ridiculous now.

Mariah at the O2 (60,865) by Joe from United Kingdom
I know im beyond late but I aint posted a message in awhile so forgive me. I had the most amazing night of my life at the O2 hearing her in the arena compared to videos online is just on another level this was also my first concert. All doubts or nerves I had before the show were gone pretty quickly by the time she started. My sister who is not as big of a fan as me said it's probably the best concert she's been to. The atmosphere in the arena was amazing, we were stood up out of our seats the entire show. We're both experiencing slight withdrawal symptoms now. If I had to nitpick though it would of been nice to have screens for the people who were alot further back then us and like someone else said the mic volume could of been slightly better for the softer notes and when she was speaking. This will be a night I will never forget and I hope she comes back alot sooner next time.

This will be the first concert I've ever been to so if anyone could help me out and tell me the best trusted places to purchase tickets from I'd be really greatful. Thanks.

Re. Infinity (52,368) by Joe from United Kingdom
I love it. I was so nervous before the first listen as I usually am when when she brings out new music. I always check people's reactions before listening so in case my standards are too high I'm not gonna be really dissapointed. I was thinking please let me like it so I listened and as soon as the beat dropped with the "ooh aah's" I was happy. I don't think it's gonna be number one and I don't really care, all I care is that I like it. Lets chill with the chasing the charts and the 19th number one. It's like we got 18 legendary singles plus another hundred amazing songs from her over the years. I'm just happy that I still enjoy her music like I did with the last album. I can remember feeling underwhelmed by "You're Mine" and "TOALG" so I know that feeling some may feel. I'd like a number one as much as the next person but at this point I don't feel like its a big deal. "MIAMTEC" flopped so bad but I could barely care because I was to busy enjoying the amazing songs it gave me.

Mariah in Vegas (51,833) by Joe from United Kingdom
Onto [...]. I honestly feel like this is her last chance as a live performer if she can pull it off from the first night and improve as it goes on then great. On that first night that is when all eyes are gonna be on her and she needs to deliver, she can't start off terribly then improve while nobody is watching because the media will most definitely pounce. I can deal with some lip synching in small doses as long as it is convincing and new pre-recorded parts and not the same vocals from the 90's versions because that is highly unrealistic. I'm rooting for her to do well but if it don't happen then maybe it's time to call it a day as a live performer and just release music only as I'll never stop want to hear new music but I don't know how much more vocal media scandals I can take. I sound slightly negative but I'm looking forward to [...] and hope it all goes well.

Infinity and 1's (51,832) by Joe from United Kingdom
People I know personally say I'm very critical but when I come here I feel tame in comparison. Onto my point, am I upset about Photoshop? Not really, this is Mariah we're talking about, lets be real. I'm not crazy about the title but overall I'm happy that her team seems to be doing what needs to be done to get people talking. It's off to a good start so far. The cover reveal was a genius idea. It's a greatest hits with one extra song. If you want to buy it, go ahead, if you want the one song, buy that. I don't see what there is to cry about.

Happy anniversary, car karaoke (51,181) by Joe from United Kingdom
Loved this moment from Mariah, she needs to continue to show this side of her. The public seem to warm to her when they see these moments. There are still people who will take something so fun and light hearted and turn it into a negative thing. It baffles me, were you expecting Mariah to bust a lung trying to sing "Vision of Love" with a guy she probably never knew exist before this moment? It's really not that deep.

Mariah's performance at Rockefeller (48,215) by Joe from United Kingdom
Here's the issue, yes people do look out for the negative more then the positive when it comes to Mariah performances but to be honest it's because she has an amazing performance when nobody is actually watching but when all eyes are on her it just don't go to well. I'm always worried when she's about to do a televised performance because I know if it doesn't go well the media can't wait to speak on it. And then two days later she'll do a great non televised performance but nobody sees it. I don't know if it's nerves or what but this has been a pattern in how she performs for years now. It's the same thing that happened with the tour, the first night all eyes were on her it was bad then she improved drastically but by then only the lambs are looking out for it. Please perform well where it actually counts. This will just be another performance like last year when I just pretend it didn't happen and move on. Hope I don't sound to harsh.

Re. Hero performance (47,893) by Joe from United Kingdom
Not to sound negative as Mariah's voice is now in much better shape and sounding great, but she usually lips the same lines in Hero which are the "way" and then "comes along" then "survive" and "hope is gone" in exactly that order. You can hear the tone switch from 2014 Mariah to a lowered version of the original studio version. Since someone asked. I'm sure she could hit those notes if she wanted to as she'll usually hit the exact same note two songs later, but I'm just happy that what is live is sounding good.

Setlist (46,161) by Joe from United Kingdom
Personally I'd like to hear some songs from the new album and some real old school songs even if that means she just sings them improptu like when she sung "Love takes time in Australia". I have to say though on a negative note, please leave "Touch my body" and "Obsessed" off the setlist completely. I can handle and shake it off due to the new intro but I feel like those two songs have become setlist fillers at this point. I love the songs but I'm just not excited by them in a live setting. Am I the only one who feels this way?

Re Mimi lamb (45,627) by Joe from United Kingdom
I was about to post the exact same thing you just posted in regards to the truth's rudeness towards Shelly in regards to the whole house selling situation. I don't see Mariah moving house as something to act so heated over.

Re. Starving kids remark (45,584) by Joe from United Kingdom
Has anybody actually heard or seen her make this comment because I hear that it's made up. Myth: Mariah Carey told an interviewer she always cries when she sees starving kids on TV, because she would love to be that skinny. Reality: Extremely false. In 1996 a satirical US website invented an interview with Carey, claiming she had told them: “When I watch TV and see those poor starving kids all over the world, I can’t help but cry. I mean, I’d love to be skinny like that, but not with all those flies and death and stuff.” Credulous British mags and newspapers reported the "quote" and the story spread like wildfire.

I literally burst out laughing at your post. I just keep imagining a cheesy commercial of someone in awe of the pink yet lavender butterflies flying out of the bottle.

Re. Alexis, being negative vs being real (44,464) by Joe from United Kingdom
Thank you for your post. It gets tired when an honest lamb says the truth and because other people choose to believe in this live/lipped trickery and we don't were accused of not being true fans. If they choose to believe that's fine. I don't think there any less of fan because of it so I don't understand that because we know the reality of what is live and what clearly isn't were suddenly being non-fans or being negative. Our ears are cleaned out good and well thank you. That's my final word on this subject.

Most of us know the difference (44,435) by Joe from United Kingdom
Just wanted to put it out there that most of us already know the difference between dubbed and lip sync vocals. I have no problem with live vocals that are dubbed over to a certain degree or partly lip sync but when you lip sync all the climaxes to your songs, do 3 takes edit them together (badly) and then dub over what was atleast live it becomes beyond pointless. I'm going to stop here because I'm beginning to sound like I'm not a fan. I say this out of love and knowing what she is capable of and not to be negative. By the way I still catch the holy spirit from Mariah's impromptu performances so I know she can still sing. I just wish I could feel the same way about her actual some what live televised performances.

NBC performances (44,428) by Joe from United Kingdom
I have not seen the entire NBC special and seriously want to see the interviews. As for the performances I was going to post about the lip synching but didn't want to be negative but I have to be honest. As much as I love Mariah and don't try to bash her (check my previous post) I need her to take what she does vocally in her impromptu performances into her actual performances strip back the entire arrangement if you have to but its getting to a point where she even lip's her mid range belts now which I know in reality she can hit easily. I understand she has nothing to prove that's fine. Its just when I listen to her songs now I automatically know what notes she will be lip synching. Mariah can still sing, we all know that this is the only reason it's starting to bother me. I know she can do it if she tried. To those saying that people need to clean their ears out and that you can clearly hear the differences vocally compared to the studio track the differences your hearing are the fact that through out the performance it's switching back and forth between a live vocal and a studio or pre-recorded track. I don't think people complaining about the lip-syching are being negative, it's just being real.

A few songs from the new album (43,903) by Joe from United Kingdom
I came home from a long dull day at work only to realise I was able to listen to a few songs from the new album. All I can say is wow. I'm one of the people who were slightly worried about this album with all the push backs and so on. After hearing these songs it makes me wonder why I was ever worried to begin with. I am in love with the ballads on this album, they're so stripped back and in parts the musical arrangements are taking me all the way back I'm talking like early 90's. Yes I did just say that. Now onto Mariah's vocals, great as usual. I've come to terms with the fact that she belts more comfortably in her mid range. Am I the only one who actually sometimes likes the raspy sound when she belts (not live) but on record when I hear the rasp it add's more emotion like I know she put her effort in all the way. I'm not someone who praises her every move but seriously I am in love with what I've heard from the new album so far.

Thirsty, different songs (43,620) by Joe from United Kingdom
I actually have not posted here in awhile, since then a bunch of new faces have appeared and that whole saga with that Issac guy came to an end. Anyway this is how I feel about Thirsty. I love the song, I can understand why some people might not like it, but I love it because it's really catchy and it sounds current, but still has Mariah's style on it. Songs I've liked the most so far are #Beautiful, Almost Home and Thirsty. I didn't really like TAOLG and YME was ok and it struck me that the songs I've liked the most are the one's she did with different producers. I like her past work with JD but sometimes now when they do a song together it sounds slightly dated or like another We Belong Together (YME). I just want her to keep evolving and branching out musically. If I don't like a song I say I'm not feeling it I move on and hopefully I'll like the next one. To the people who want the same style songs from the 90's, it's quite simple, go and listen to those songs. That's what I do if I want 90's Mariah, I go listen to it. If I want hip-hop Mimi, I go listen to that. Just saying.

Re. Carlos, Mariah's ways (41,322) by Joe from United Kingdom
Even though some of your post was cut out I could gather what you were trying to say, I think. I totally agree with what you said about Mariah's odd behavour sometimes. I also believe alot of it is to do with insecurity. I'm no shrink but with Mariah I sometimes try to look beneath the surface of what she presents herself to be, underneath the beautiful diva character I feel like she's not comfortable in her own skin unless she's able to present herself in exactly the way she likes only showing herself from her good side, lighting and her personality. It seems the older she gets the more she constantly thinks this way to the point where she seems like her mind is some place else. I honestly think Mariah is amazing no matter what she looks like or how she acts because her music is what made me like her to begin with. I actually don't mind Mariah being abit crazy it's just her being funny some of the time but I can understand how it comes across to the public as an over the top diva. Either way I will always continue to support Mariah no matter what and want the best for her. Sorry if I sound dramatic.

You're Mine, interviews (41,238) by Joe from United Kingdom
I like both versions of the new song, it's not something completely different from her previous work but I still really enjoy the song. I think with Mariah it's about finding that perfect balance between keeping her sound but with a current take on it. Some fans want 90's Mariah or the more urban Mariah or pop with a splash of hip hop. I think the only way she can cater to all of those audiences is with the album so she can cover all different bases in terms of music. In regards to the music video, it's nothing ground breaking, it's pretty much what I thought it would be, so I'm not upset over it. I have noticed Mariah does seem abit manic in interviews like she's just thinking all the time. If its not about lighting, it's about being caught on your bad side, it's the repetition of how hard the pregnancy was, Nick talking too much, but in all honesty the people interviewing her go over the same old subjects. She must get bored. In terms of her radio interview at the Breakfast club, their chats are usually abit crazy anyway or the guest usually gets ridiculed the whole time. As long as Mariah is being herself, that's the most important thing, not how other people choose to see her.

You're mine (41,132) by Joe from United Kingdom
I was excited to hear about the new single. Then when the leaked performance version came out, I said ok I'm gonna just be patient and wait. A few hours went by and I thought I'll just listen to like ten seconds which I did. I kept reading all the good things everybody had to say about the song on the messageboard which only tempted me more to listen to it. I ended up listening to it in full today with only a little longer to wait for the proper version to come out. I think I like what I heard but I'm going to reserve my full judgement until I hear it properly, but it's looking good. I'm glad to see that Mariah seems to have everything in place and ready in terms of remixes, videos and promo.
