About Will from Australia: Lunatic crazy about Ms Carey

Re: Bruno Mars' Leave Door Open (97,549) (97,550) by Will from Australia
First song in a whole tray on first listen I was like "wow".

Re: #MC30 releases are back (97,176) (97,177) by Will from Australia
I can't tell any difference in the locals for the BOTH live performance, sound like the music is the only live element.

On another note, why'd we skip Glitter?

Re: Want to miss her (97,165) (97,168) by Will from Australia
Unfortunately she suffers from delusions of grandeur and we'll get another album that'll be produced by "ya'll know what this isn't".

She thinks Caution wasn't successful because of the release schedule of songs from it, if that where so, wouldn't said songs have been hits before the album dropped?

Anyway, live and hope.

Re: Biopic battle (97,152) (97,154) by Will from Australia
Ha ok. I'm talking biopic on the scale of Rocketman and Bohemian Rhapsody theatrical release rather than some Lifetime TV thing which nobody sees. Anyway I'm looking forward to all three.

Re: Biopic battle (97,146) (97,149) by Will from Australia
Whitney was a documentary not a biopic. Who played Whitney in it? Exactly.

QuestLove (97,142) by Will from Australia
Loved the interview, took up my Saturday afternoon with a few splashes. I was delighted to hear her deep dive into AIWFCIY and reveal that Water contributed the bridge to what she had already written, I think we can put this to bed now. Her general respect towards WA was great to hear to.

I was shocked at her attitude toward Caution and how it was released and rushed and also commenting on her owns vocals not being as she would want.

Finally the chick reveal that she is working with potentially a 16 year old actress to reproduce the album, who she can't reveal... it's Millie Bobby Brown from Stranger Things.

Re: Biopic battle (97,132) (97,141) by Will from Australia
Are you talking about "Whitney" and "Can I Be Me?"? They're not biopics of so.

Biopic battle (97,131) by Will from Australia
Biopics are potentially on the horizon for Mariah, Madonna and Whitney. Personally I only like these when done posthumously. Whitney's seems like the real deal with Clive Davis on as a producer. Madonna is directing hers so that could be a mess. Mariah's is talk so far and again she is mentioned as director so it could be a fine mess.

It will be interesting to see how the public respond to them. I'd argue Madonna has the bigger fan base still so it should do well but Whitney being deceased and by the looks of it, a proper production, should perform the best. Anyway, we speculate.

Apple Christmas (96,667) by Will from Australia
She looks amazing in two images she's posted, the dress she's wearing on the wreath I think we've seen before and is very Marilyn Monroe but her hair in the other image in the high pig tail is the best I've seen her look in a long time, gave me 90s feels.

Can't wait to hear her new version of "Oh Santa!" with AG and JH if that's true. I won't mention Jermaine You All Know What This Isn't as I want to remain festive.

Re: Cory Rooney (96,642) (96,657) by Will from Australia
That's so ironic. I knew of that Twitter trolling of the dinner knife saga but literally had no idea who the person was that witnesses it lol so "I don't know her" is very real to me right now. I've never heard of Mariah even mention his name so why is he so obsessed?

Re: Underneath the Stars video (96,627) (96,632) by Will from Australia
Ha I think Andrew was suggesting I'm the new William Stacey although I have been on this board since about 20 years now and I do have a solid claim to being the resident Daydream fanatic although I didn't see that tour, I wonder if anyone on here did.

Re: Underneath the Stars video (96,616) (96,618) by Will from Australia
Probably one of her more natural looking vanity videos but a massive meh. Was hoping for a storyline or something cute similar to the Always Be My Baby video, that's how I always envisioned this video would be like. Feels like someone found the clips of Mariah and just edited it out with old footage of the tour.

Re: Is AIWFCIY the most successful song in history? (96,577) (96,578) by Will from Australia
Not sure about them others all having greater success than Mariah internationally. Here in Australia as a sampler, certified units:

P.nk 10.1m
Rihanna 9.5m
Katy Perry 6.8m
Taylor Swift 6.74m
Mariah 5.02m
Madonna 4.78m
Lady Gaga 4.09m
Adele 4.09m
Beyoncé 3.39m
Celine 3.30m
Christina 2.62m
Babs 2.15m
Whitney 1.89m
Cher 1.53m
Janet 1.15m

She’s actually sold more than all that you mentioned. But I agree with your sentiments about AIWFCIY.

Cory Rooney (96,573) by Will from Australia
Ok so going down the rabbit hole on Cory Rooney who first worked with Mariah on "Do You Think Of Me" and then later on Butterfly for "The Roof", "Beautiful Ones" and "Babydoll" before becoming the main producer throughout the years for JLo and interestingly Marc Anthony and Tommy's wife Thalia.

Scandal, I wish Mariah had told us the dirt there, he seems like more of a controversial move than Walter or the Glitter saga. I mean he produced three massive cuts from her most personal album before turning to JLo. He never worked with MC again.

Re: MC 30 (96,563) (96,572) by Will from Australia
I would die too. Last Chance is sublime. Because Mariah wrote it, I'm assuming she did a demo of it. Her background vocals on the track are amazing. Corey Rooney co-wrote it and co-produced and would later go on to do Destiny Child's (and still Beyoncé's) biggest hit Independent Women. Oh Allure, what could have been.

I'm an actor daaahling (96,528) by Will from Australia
One thing that I still don't get is how delusional Mariah is when it comes to her acting capabilities. I know she wants to be Marilyn Monroe (who also wasn't a great actress) but she needs to face facts that she's one of the world's greatest singers yet worse actors. Tommy wanted to shield her from it not from spite or fear she would become a massive star (hello he put all of the machine into making her that from her music chops) but because he probably knew how dreadfully poor she was at it with no raw talent. In her novella she still goes on about Glitter with that absurd linkage to 9/11 as the reasoning which added to its downfall and also all the editing of the original script yada yada - wake up. She tanks in it, her performance. Saying she got redemption because of Precious is then another rolled eyes moment. Precious success was because of the two leads and the gritty storyline. Mariah was a shock because of her appearance and she did, let's say better, than expected but she's wasn't winning anything credible for it. Wise Girls, again awkward performance but not unwatchable. Tennessee the same. Lee Daniel's is her mate so of course he will throw a dog a bone but where are the other role offers? Oh wait there is that Hallmark movie...

Apple special (96,527) by Will from Australia
I’ll be shocked if there is a song collaboration with Ariana and Hudson. If there is I fully expect it to be an Against All Odds-esq with Westlife where they just record to mix with her pre-arrangements. It may just be a variety show with them singing her songs.

Another book review (96,443) by Will from Australia
I just finished the book along with the audiobook. I kinda wish I hadn't listened to her read it as it constantly sounded like she was channeling Catie from Mean Girls and that got a bit much after a while.

I wish there was more on the men, Derek Jeter gets no details about the breakdown of that despite several chapters about the build up. Nick Cannon gets a sentence or two but that's a shade thing I think. Tanaka passes by without much notice. And the remission of Eminem was irritating, she wrote two songs about the grub. Even James Packer should've been touched upon, their relationship was the most media coverage she's received outside of Christmas in years.

The bypassing of the bipolar diagnosis was strange to say the least, she had it very publicly outed.

The whole Stella saga was a pivotal moment in her public perception so not mentioning that period, again was bizarre.

The "my mother is the devil incarnation for calling the cops while I went psycho and I'll never forgive her, but hey she can lay some vocals on this Christmas carol I'm putting down 9 years later and my family ruined Christmas and I have horrible memories of my family but anyways let's have a Charlie Brown Christmas". WTF, ain't that bipolar defined.

And the music. Really it's why we're all here for her. I would love a whole book about each song she's ever recorded and the inspirations, that's the real meaning of Mariah.

Jazz album (96,432) by Will from Australia
I didn't think I'd like LOB but it's infectious and I can't stop listening and singing it in my heart. That style of music I think fits perfectly with where her voice is at now. I think it's time to just transcend into alternative projects like a jazz album or duets even gospel although her voice probably couldn't hold up there.

Re: Firecracker vs. Cameo Loverboy (96,379) (96,382) by Will from Australia
There are elements of the Firecracker sample I like, especially the spoken loverboy parts but I'd narrowly give the Cameo version the win, it had a better flow and is more upbeat, finessed.

The irony of TRL (96,265) by Will from Australia
I still can't believe how people can rant about Mariah acting crazy on TRL to the point of having a manic episode themselves about it.
