About Michele from USA: Hi, my name is Michele and I am from Pennsylvania. I have been a Mariah fan since 1991 when she released "Emotions." I have met her on one occasion and have seen her in concert three times. I believe my favorite albums of hers are Music Box and Charmbracelet.

Out of the Billboard 100? (53,803) by Michele from USA
Is Infinity already out of the Billboard Top 100? The XM Sirius radio channel Heart & Soul has been playing it consistently.

Mara (47,774) by Michele from USA
Hi, Mara. I live in Bethlehem, about two hours from NYC. I am not a member of Honey B. Fly, so I cannot purchase tickets today. I will next Monday, which is my birthday. I would love to have other lambs to go with, but I need to know soon because we'll be purchasing the tickets together. You can email me directly at monroe0626@yahoo.com (the 0 is a zero, not a letter). I hope to hear from you, Mara.

Beacon Theatre (47,718) by Michele from USA
There is no word yet on the Beacon Theatre website of Mariah performing in December, so for now, I am treating it just as a rumor. But if it is true, Adam, I will go with you.

It's Nick's birthday today (47,290) by Michele from USA
Hard to believe that a year ago, Mariah was posting that sexy picture of her cleavage and was waiting for him. You have to think that whatever went down between the two of them, had to have happened very recently, like around Valentine's Day.

Nick's tattoo (47,067) by Michele from USA
Has anyone seen a new picture of Nick's back tattoo? It's blurry, but now it looks like Jesus hanging on the cross, and Mariah is covered up. This is why you never, ever, ever, ever tattoo a lover's name on you. Lol.

Myles (46,977) by Michele from USA
As for "Butterfly", Mariah once said in an interview (I think it was Interview magazine from fall 2007) that she wrote this song as though she wanted to hear those words from Tommy. She said something to the extend that she wished he would have said, "Hey, you've been with me since you were a kid. Go be yourself for a while." It would have made a world of difference in her relationship with him and she would probably still have been married to him (at that point). So yes, "Butterfly" is from someone else's point of view, and not Mariah's.

The Roof (46,956) by Michele from USA
I always took The Roof to mean the night she met Derek Jeter. It was in November 1996 at the Fresh Air Fund's Fall Frolic Auction that I believe the two met for the first time. Obviously, she was still married to Tommy at the time, so she might have embellished on the lyrics such as "and I surrendered as you took me in your arms".

I often thought Mariah did the polar opposite (46,912) by Michele from USA
There are so many extreme opposites between Mariah's two marriages. Besides the age difference, there's also the length of engagement. I think Mariah and Tommy were engaged for almost two years, while Mariah and Nick were only engaged for what, five days? Mariah and Tommy's wedding was this huge production with so many guests and something like 26 flower girls. (My apologies if my facts are not all straight; I'm at work, ha ha.) Her wedding to Nick was very small and intimate with only like 12 guests. It's almost like she really made it a point to be so different from her first marriage.

The Rock (46,911) by Michele from USA
Here's a little fun trivia for your Tuesday. The Rock is a local celebrity in my hometown of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He graduated from one of our high schools, Freedom High School, which is only about 13 km from my house. He's pretty much the #1 celebrity in this area, along with Mario Andretti (for any of you who follow race car driving). And now we return you to your regularly scheduled Tuesday, already in progress.

Well said, Mimi L. (46,896) by Michele from USA
Mariah should be with a manly-man. While there is no reason now to rant about Nick, I for one have never cared for him or his appearance. I remember always looking at his bony fingers and going, "Ewwww, he touches MC with those hands?" Ha ha. He's just not a handsome man. The Rock, on the other hand... meow. They would make a good-looking couple. In my personal humble opinion, the best-looking man Mariah dated was Luis Miguel. It just made sense. They looked great together. I also though Mark Sudak was a cutie, but I only ever saw one or two pictures of the two of them together.

I Still Believe (46,491) by Michele from USA
Great reading the love for this song. I Still Believe will always hold a special place in my heart because it is the very first song of Mariah's that I heard live with me in the audience. It was her performance on The View back on November 17, 1998, and I was in the audience. Very awesome day, and afterwards I got to meet her at Virgin Megastore to get her autograph, and after waiting in line for five hours, all I could say to her when I got up to her was, "Hi, Mariah." And we both had this awkward pause for a second, and Mariah was like, "Hi.... how are you?" Too funny. After that, me and my friend got into her #1s Fans Appreciation Party, where Mariah came out on stage with a huge cake and balloons dropped. Awesome day. Anyway, I Still Believe takes me back to that time and it is an awesome remake.

Nick (46,444) by Michele from USA
Anyone see pictures of Nick out and about in NYC with his hat? It says "saved" on it. Wow. I'm getting an indication of how this is going to play out in public, with little jabs at Mariah. Sigh. He's such a man-child.

All good (46,232) by Michele from USA
I understand exactly what you meant, Mimi L. I apologize if I may have come across as rude. All good.

Mimi L. (46,198) by Michele from USA
"I do hope Mariah has a good support system around her right now because I believe she is going to be the more vulnerable one here, as she is after all a woman and she is much older." Wow, so women who are older are automatically more vulnerable? I believe men can be just as (even more so, just look at Robin Williams' suicide last week) vulnerable to separations as women, regardless of age. I think that since Nick has made himself look like a fool with a motor mouth over the past several months, while Mariah has remained mum, there's a good chance that Mariah has a very good supportive network to help her through this. More than likely, he'll be made out to be the bad guy.

Re: Anti-Tour (46,183) by Michele from USA
Oh absolutely, I love this idea. Mariah should have a set-list that consists strictly of her B-sides, songs that weren't singles, songs that didn't make it to #1 (gosh, I would love to hear her sing "Butterfly" again), and so forth. I think she started to do this with the Angels Advocate Tour, as, if I can recall correctly, Mariah eliminated "Vision Of Love" from the set-list and changed it up what songs she sang from MOAIA. Great idea.
And awesome to see someone one else who remembers that Paula Abdul's "Forever Your Girl" had a very slow start. It was initially released in the summer of 1988, with "Knocked Out" as the lead single. It didn't go anywhere. It wasn't until a year and a half later that "Straight Up" went straight up to the top of the charts. So who knows... anything can happen.

Regarding heartbeat at end of One More Try (45,473) by Michele from USA
If the album is sequenced like Mariah has said it is, then the miscarriage wouldn't fit in. My guess about the song is that it is Mariah's relationship with the music/record industry. Even though the song was written by George Michael, it could easily be something that Mariah would say to the record label. "I wrote the song, I know it's wrong, just let me go." The heartbeat could be reflective of back in February (which would fit in more with the sequencing) when Mariah had that contest where she said "I'm giving you my heart", and she gave away the necklace that Tommy gave to her when Vision Of Love went to Number One. It's like she was giving away a part of her that had been with her almost since day one, and by a very influential person in the music industry. And it's like, okay, let's give this one more try in the music industry with a different approach.

She seemed so sad on the NBC special (44,374) by Michele from USA
I just finished watching it, and it was alright. After every single performance, it went to a commercial, so I think the special was only 20 minutes long when all is said and done, lol. The last part of the interview really struck me, when she was telling Matt Lauer how she is vulnerable. He asked her about the tabloid rumors between her and Nick, and she said, "Ahhh. I don't read tabloids anymore. You read them one day, and the next day, someone is using them to wrap fish in. A great writer once told me that." Funny thing is, she said those exact same words in the 1995 VH1 One To One Interview, during the Daydream era, but I thought she credited Tommy for saying that. All in all, and I hope I don't get flack for this, is that I see a lot of similarities between how she was then in that era (with her marriage) and how she is now, in this era.

Article from this day in 1990 (44,225) by Michele from USA
I always scroll through the "this day in history" archive on this site, and I read one from this day back in May 1990, when Mariah was filming the video for "Vision Of Love". Look at the description of her: "Now, on a Saturday afternoon in May, on a soundstage in Long Island City, Carey stands on a 40-square-foot platform looking both young-girl gangly and young-chanteuse sexy in a tight black off-the-shoulder Norma Kamali dress." Young-chanteuse. How fitting for today.

Something unexpected (44,077) by Michele from USA
I really am enjoying her new album and haven't felt this way since The Emancipation of Mimi. I love the dream-like/otherworldly atmosphere to the album, except for songs like "Thirsty", which doesn't really seem to go with the flow and shouldn't be on the album. What I would love for Mariah to do is something completely unexpected that would stun even her harshest critics. I remember when Charmbracelet came out (which is my favorite album of hers, yes, I guess I am the minority here), everyone was completely stunned that Mariah redid a Def Leppard song. I think she should go out on a limb here and do something totally unheard of for a "diva" - and cover some 90s alternative band hit, like Alice in Chains' "Would?" or Soundgarden's "Black Holed Sun". I don't think the critics would even know what to say and they'd be left looking like this. Lol.

The intro... (43,580) by Michele from USA
Thirsty reminds me of the beginning of Snoop Doggy Dogg's "Gin & Juice". You hear a guy say, "Man, I gotta p*ss," and the sound of liquid. That's the hip hop of old that I miss.

Japanese cover (43,474) by Michele from USA
Does anyone else see a striking resemblance between the Japanese cover of Me. I am Mariah and Beyonce's I am... Sasha Fierce?

Her right hand/arm (43,230) by Michele from USA
I'm thinking she might need pressure on it because of nerve damage, much like a compression stocking for legs. Or maybe she does have a scar because of surgery on it from last year's injury, but it's nothing to be embarrassed about.
