Mariah Carey brings out Jermaine Dupri and Da Brat

Mariah Carey's Essence Festival set (July 2) found the diva translating parts of her Las Vegas residency and recent tour to a festival setting, but she still called in a few favors to give the crowd something less expected (not that there's a person on this planet uninterested in hearing "Fantasy" and "Always Be My Baby").

"I personally like this one the best, but you didn't hear me say that," Mariah jokingly said of the other "Honey" remix - that is, not the one with Puff Daddy and The Lox - before bringing on Da Brat and Jermaine Dupri to recreate the oft-forgotten 1997 track. The So So Def remix, named for Dupri's label, totally reworks the song's vocals and beat. But despite the fact that it's a rarity, the band sounded flawless. Da Brat came back out onstage for another deep cut later in the set: "Heartbreaker (Desert Storm Remix)", which also features Missy Elliott (sadly absent).
