Diva on board! Not that you would be hearing that turn of phrase from any of the 20-plus crew on James Packer's luxury tinnie, Arctic P, since his fiancee Mariah Carey and her enormous, um, entourage hit the deck off Capri this week.
PS hear's the ship's soon-to-be first mate has been making her presence felt among the crew, who have been ordered to satisfy her every whim, from perfectly chilled Diet Cokes right down to playing her hits and videos on a constant loop throughout the ship's entertainment system. And one of the songs most played appears to be dedicated to her billionaire beau, with the dulcet tones of Hero blaring out across the Mediterranean on high rotation.
Along with her twins Monroe and Moroccan, Mariah has brought along her personal stylist, hairdresser and make-up artist, who PS is reliably informed are dispatched to her cabin each morning about 90 minutes before she emerges on the ship's deck.
No doubt Mariah is acutely aware of the flotilla of boats carrying a swarm of Italian paparazzi which has been tailing the mighty converted ice-breaker since she got on board. A showgirl has gotta look her best, after all.
Then there is Stella Bulochnikov, Mariah's over-the-top personal assistant/ manager/ press agent/NBFF, who has been quietly nicknamed Kalashnikov by some of the crew who have not taken kindly to her rapid-fire, machine-gun like demands since she clambered aboard the Arctic P in her 12-inch stilettos barking into her iPhone.
And simple things like taking a dip in the azure waters of the Med have taken on a whole new dimension when it involves Mariah. A small army of crew were enlisted to get her from the big boat to one of the Arctic P's tenders this week, surrounding the diva with umbrellas lest she be photographed in any particularly unflattering angles, though judging by the images which have been circulating, they were not completely successful.
Indeed Mariah was clearly upset following a trip to the Blue Grotto when those pesky paps got a little too close for comfort, though James made up for it by hitting the shops of Capri and returning with an undisclosed bauble to hang off his Mariah tree.
It clearly did the trick, because later that night she donned a lacy black nightie and her collection of sparklers from James, and returned to Capri for dinner with her beau, who was wearing his best tracksuit for the occasion.
Ain't love grand?
