Is Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon's divorce final? That's what fans are wondering as Cannon moves on with TLC's Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas and Carey plans her wedding to her billionaire fiancé James Packer. Cannon, 35, and Carey, 46, filed for divorce in January 2015 after six years of marriage and having their twins Monroe and Moroccan together. However, Carey and Cannon have not finalized a divorce settlement yet.
Rumors swirled over the summer that Cannon was "holding up" Carey and Packer's wedding by not signing the divorce papers. But he denied the rumors. "I wish it was that easy where you can just sign something and say, 'Oh, I'm done,' but it's a lot of things that go with that that are beyond my control," Cannon said. "The only thing that's important to me is my children. I want what's best for them. I believe my ex feels the exact same way."
Now Cannon's moving on. And his relationship with Chilli, 45, is getting serious! Cannon and Chilli sparked dating rumors after they collaborated on a music video together. They then got dinner with Chilli's mom in August. And just this week they were looking very cozy during their date at Warwick Nightclub in L.A.
"Nick and Chilli were all over each other. He was deejaying and any chance they could get they kissed and hugged and were super affectionate," a source told Page Six. "He was so focused on her, it was obvious that they were together. She stood right by his side almost the entire time and he culdn't take his eyes off of her. They looked super in love and left the venue together around 1:30 a.m. They are defintiely serious and very happy together at the moment!"
Cannon and Chilli laughed when asked if there were "wedding bells in your future". So right now they claim they're just dating and having fun. "We've got an amazing music video together," Cannon told People. "And the chemistry is undeniable. I'm telling you, it's real. I'm having fun she's having fun."
Carey and Packer, 49, are busy making wedding plans. So will they get married soon? "We're getting it together, darling," Carey told E! News back in June. "You know what? It's time. The dress and the whole thing. I'm working and he's working and everyone puts so much pressure." Carey revealed that she has even already picked out her wedding dress. "It's in a box, darling," she said.
Carey and Packer made their red-carpet debut as a couple last September after they went on a romantic vacation in Italy in June. Carey and Parker then got engaged in January.
