Eighteen years ago Kate Fischer's life changed forever when she was dumped by fiancé James Packer and allegedly paid millions in hush money. Now the 42-year-old - who has changed her name to Tziporah Atarah Malkah - has decided to give Mariah Carey some advice to help her win back the Australian billionaire following their recent split. Penning an open letter to 46-year-old Mariah published in New Idea magazine, the former Australian model said the singer should "play the game" to get 49-year-old James' attention.
"My advice to you is, if you really want him back, play the game, let him make the key decisions and you may well live happily ever after as Mariah Carey Packer," she wrote. Elaborating on the strategy, she added: "If you want to get him back and he's having a sulk, just wait a few days and get in touch."
Kate, who dated James between 1993 and 1998, also outlined some of the reasons for her own split with the businessman. She explained that her "insistence that he and I spent more time alone together" in fact drew a wedge between the pair and ultimately ended their two-year engagement.
She also told Mariah that the US singer is "lucky" for not having met James' father Kerry who had quite the "temper", before adding "James' mum Rose isn't the easiest woman to impress".
Kate, who was previously a successful fashion model and actress, escaped the spotlight years ago. She has been living a low-key life as a therapist at an aged-care facility in Melbourne.
Meanwhile last month a rep for Mariah confirmed to Entertainment Tonight that she and James had called off their engagement. "Mariah and James had a fight in Greece, and have not seen each other since," the statement read. "The fight was not because of any cheating allegations or excessive spending by Mariah. James is one of the most successful businessmen in the world. They are trying to work it out. Right now, they're not sure if they will stay together. They are discussing it, and plan to release an official statement together about their future."
The couple first went public with their romance in June 2015, before announcing their engagement in January this year.
