James Corden recently confessed to stealing a candle from Mariah Carey's house, but it seems the A-list singer has always had her suspicions. What do you do if you go to a famous singer's house to meet up with her for a TV project, but she keeps you waiting for hours? Well, for The Late Late Show's James Corden, the answer is to help yourself to something of theirs.
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Corden recently came clean this week on his late night TV series. During a segment with Drew Barrymore and John Boyega called "Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts", Corden admitted something he says he's never told anyone before. Namely, he stole a candle from Mariah Carey's house, never giving the singer a clue as to what he had done.
"This is completely true and I've never told anyone this," Corden said on the show, adding, "I once stole a candle from Mariah Carey's house." Corden explains that he had gone over there prior to filming a Carpool Karaoke segment for the show, only to sit waiting in her living room for two hours. Noticing the she "had loads" of butterfly-printed candles her Carey's name on them, Corden took one for himself - consolation for the two hour wait time.
Once word of Corden's admission got out, Carey took to Twitter to respond. As it turns out, she may have known about Corden's candle theft this whole time. "So it was you," Mariah wrote. Still, Corden says not only does he still have the candle, but he's never giving it back. But it seems like there's still no love lost between the two.
