This is not a drill - we repeat - this is not a drill. Mariah Carey just shared a photo of her "bad side" on social media. In honor of Throwback Thursday, the diva posted a picture that was taken from her left side. Any true fan of the "Always Be My Baby" singer knows she prefers the right.
Carey's complex started when she was 19 years old and doing her first-ever photo shoot. A woman on set told her, "This is your good side - only let people photograph you from your good side, ever." That side was, of course, the right. After hearing the lady's critique, Carey "didn't like" photos of her left side and wouldn't let photographers shoot her from that angle for years.
In 2009, she pretended that she was finally OK with her left side. "I don't feel like, 'Oh, I have to be on this side, or I have to be on this side.' I really had specific things that someone told me when I was 19 starting in the business, and I listened to them. I don't care anymore," Carey told the Associated Press. "Sometimes I like that left side - and Nick likes that side better anyway," she added, referring to her then-husband, Nick Cannon.

Perhaps there is real hope with this throwback. The Grammy winner conceded on Mariah's World (RIP) a few years ago that she was warming up to the idea of her left side. "I don't hate it when it's well-lit; they just have to light it," she said. Progress! After all, she looks good.
