Phylicia Rashad has a "real friendship" with Mariah Carey. The "Cosby Show" actress joined her "Fall From Grace" co-stars on People magazine's "People Now" web series and dished all about the music icon.
The conversation shifted from the new Netflix film to Carey when the hosts asked about the "We Belong Together" songstress' surprise appearance at the premiere Thursday night.
"I've known Mariah for a little while, so I was happy to see her," Rashad gushed. And their friendship is all thanks to Rashad's sister Debbie Allen.
"We have a real relationship since my sister has worked with her," she explained. "And I met her years ago and we've always had a friendly relationship."
And when Carey welcomed twins Moroccan and Monroe in 2011, Rashad was there. "I was at her baby shower so, yeah, I know her," she added.
Tyler Perry's "A Fall From Grace" is streaming now on Netflix.
