It seems as if boos from an audience of disgruntled fans isn't enough the bring down one of the world's biggest superstars. Mariah Carey, 45, left her Manchester gig on Friday night positively beaming as she was ushered by her security to her car for a night's kip before advancing in the next leg of her The Sweet Sweet Fantasy Tour the following day.
The Hero hitmaker almost spilled out of her figure-hugging, plunging gold gown encrusted with eye-catching applique. Her dramatic dress cinched her in at the waist, showcasing her fabulous figure and ample assets. Undoubtedly showcasing her diva ambiance, the New York City native gestured elaborately with her hands, displaying her impressive collection of jewellery.
Her 35 carat engagement ring from her billionaire fiance James Packer, which is estimated to cost a whopping $7.5million, was on full display on her perfectly manicured hands. The Glitter star's remarkable rock wasn't enough to keep her warm, however, as she casually protected her shoulders with an oversized navy blazer. Even though night had long since fallen, the Grammy winner wore a pair of large black sunnies to give her eyes a rest. The megastar looked in high spirits, flashing her pearly whites as she hopped into her car.
Mariah's tranquil mood couldn't be said the same for her die-hard fans who were left waiting for 45 minutes at Thursday's Leeds gig at the First Direct Arena. The singer was supposedly due to arrive on stage at 20.45, but arrived at 21.30, causing disheartened fans to take to social media to vent their frustrations. One user posted: "Excuse me Mariah Carey, but there are 10,000 people in Leeds waiting for you. Care to join us?" Another added to the mix by saying: "Absolute joke how she was 40 minutes late in Leeds tonight. I saw a grand total of 40 mins of the show."
There were however some loyal fans who jumped to Mariah's defence with one user stating: "Who's complaining that Mariah is late? Hush. Mariah transcends time, dahling, you can't hold her to regular standards." Mariah took to Instagram earlier in the day to hint she would be running a little late. The buxom blonde told her 15 million followers: "My darling lambs. As much as I hate leaving this fabulous bed at the Corinthia London, I am on my way to see you all in Leeds in 30 minutes."
All seemed to be forgiven as she was gifted with flowers and teddy bears ahead of her Manchester gig the next day. The talented vocalist will also perform Birmingham's Barclaycard Arena on Sunday as well as Cardiff's Motorpoint Arena on Monday before wrapping up her UK visit at London's O2 Arena on Wednesday night.
