Mariah Carey took over the Toyota Music Factory in Dallas, Texas, on Wednesday for the opening night of her Caution World Tour - and it was a festive evening, dahlings! The tour was in support of her critically acclaimed Caution album, which topped the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart upon its November release.
She performed the title track, as well as "A No No", "With You", "GTFO", "8th Grade" and "Stay Long Love You". She even went on to admit later on Instagram that she got emotional during "Portrait", thanking her fans for their continuous support.
There was a special moment when she brought out "dem babies" - her children Roc and Roe for the 1995 single, "Always Be My Baby". The Lambs have shown so much love to the singer/songwriter - as shown with the #JusticeForGlitter campaign on Twitter - sending the 2001 album to No. 1 on iTunes last year. She rewarded fans by performing two songs from the album - "Never Too Far" and "Loverboy" - all while sharing her appreciation to her fans saying, "This is for you, Lambily!"
Mariah has 18 No. 1s in total on the Billboard Hot 100 and she performed quite a few of them opening night, with highlights being "My All", which was full of vocal acrobatics. Then, the night came to a close with the finale song, "Hero".
The fans weren’t the only ones who enjoyed the show: Mariah seemed to be just as over the moon about the opening night of the tour. She joked about the vibrant lighting with her crew and, of course, celebrated that she had her tea, because what is a chanteuse without her hydrated vocals? The tour continues through June 13 in Amsterdam and picks back up Friday night (March 1) in Houston.
