Mariah Carey dashed through the tarmac runway on Sunday celebrating her birthday on Instagram. Her song "It's Like That" played in the background, while Carey fled off the screen in a monochromatic outfit. Carey considers her born day her "anniversary" and her fans completely get it. The singer is celebrating 54 years this Monday with a special trip.
The vocalist's airport style included a black minidress with a relaxed neckline, solid black tights and a glossy trench coat. As for footwear, she slipped into a pair of knee-high leather boots that dominated her walk with a platform silhouette and a black heel adding 3 to 4 inches of height.
Knee-high boots are currently touring through a roster of celebrities' boot-wear selects. Taylor Swift has been dominating the stage in sparkling Christian Louboutin "Gael" boots throughout the start of her Eras tour, while the style is making rounds on the West Coast along with Winnie Harlow‘s strut.
On Monday, Carey posted another video on her social media that shows her diving deep into the ocean while wearing a pink and black wetsuit.
Her social media content is full of anecdotes to her record-breaking songs and are always complemented by a polished choice of footwear. Platform heels shine amongst her rotation, such as the metallic 6-inch sandals she modeled to her song "Honey" and the square-toe ankle-strapped heels she wore to the final night of her "Merry Christmas to All" concert series at Madison Square Garden. And when Carey posed in Dior moon boots this past Holiday season, we were quick to check if the flat pillowy boot was still in stock.
