My MC 2015 fantasy wish list (48,007) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End (Saturday 22 November 2014; 3:07)
"We've been hearing about things that either never come to fruition, get sabotaged or don't get promoted for decades now. So just for fun I'm putting together a lil list of all the things I wish are gonna be Mariah's big announcement for 2015 and or beyond.
1. A European residency in London to celebrate her 25th anniversary. 2. Carbonated Butterfly drink released internationally using Thirsty as promo. 3. An annual Christmas Broadway show written and produced by MC. 4. The Bond theme, performed, written and produced by MC and a cameo role on screen. I think Bianca needs to dust off her wig for this one. 5.The debut album re-released with the original demos, live performances and unleseased tracks or remixes. 6. An autobiography, maybe as a three-part book series? Childhood - The Sony years - Post Glitter. 7. A cable miniseries about her life using the books as a template. 8. Crave Records 2.0 and an HBO tv documentary chronicling the journey of MC mentoring new artists and maybe giving forgotten one's a new chance. 9. A Christmas movie produced and written by MC with old and new music where she plays at least one of the characters. 10. A DVD to commemorate her 18 US #1's with video commentary on every song and how it came to be from inception to charting. Also, funny anecdotes in the bonus features and guest appearances with her collaborators through the years.
What do you guys wish Mariah's big 2015 announcement will be about?"
I'm doing another wish list for 2016 so I went back to see what I posted last year. So far, I'm a pretty happy Lamb since several of the things on my wish list came true at least partially already. YAY!

Let's get one thing straight. Not every poster on this board is a certified lamb. It's ridiculous to even think that when it's obvious some of them are not even fans anymore, if in fact they were ever that in the first place, let alone diehard lambs. At least a handful only post so they can quote themselves later in whatever publication or media outlet that was duped into hiring them as writers and opinionaters. Anybody who thinks entertainment press is unbiased is delusional. It's also full of corruption and susceptible to manipulation by various "agendas" and camps. The media at large can be used both as a weapon against somebody/something as well as a buffer or shield. For reference, see TMZ's Harvey Levin: "I just wanna say that there were 'a lot of people' that were saying and telling us, they said that she wasn't ready for this thing, she wasn't rehearsing enough, that it wasn't gonna be good. No, no, what we said was, we were talking to people who were in her camp. Some of them, remember, left. And they said..." The quotes and surrounding convo can be found in this link. The conversation between Harvey and his TMZ staff about Mariah's Vegas dress rehearsal audio starts at 25:00 and ends at 28:00. That entire 3 minute exchange/segment illustrates the above points I've been making since last year. Fritos all around.

Looks like it'll be Trey and Daniel the keyboardist holding the tenors down on OSD indefinitely. Sadly this is the status quo now. Should've known it was too good to be true. Oh well, it was a nice rumour while it lasted. In any case, this was one of my faves, thank God for Trey and Daniel too. Their chemistry really saved the performance from bleakness. Go Team Mariah, so proud of all you guys right now. Out to your faves fave, B and the Lambily at large. Let's do this.

Oh lamb after my own heart. "You forgot to also tell the haters that there is a chair sale going on at the Colloseum, so they better stock up so they can take several seats." Great idea, only it's looking terribly bleak at the moment because lambs are steady filling up the seats to capacity at the Coliseum. Oh well: Haters really have no business playing musical chairs anyway. They need to get their eyes and ears checked before they even attempt seating in the presence of the queen of sound. *opens bag of Fritos*

Flirtriah getting her groove back? (52,958)

Can we talk about the cute flirting Mariah had going on with Michael Strahan? She pushed him onto the bed but when she helped him up he wouldn't let go of her hand afterwards. Giving me The Rock at Hercules premiere teas. What kinda slay? OAN her body in that dress? It's a good look in any angle. Funriah is back you all. And we love it.

(Boyz) II Men performed OSD with Mariah (52,947)

|
At last night's dress rehearsal. Le sigh. If the picture is real, then Shawn and Wanya are officially back in the fold and I'm glad because that means Mariah is probably beyond happy. What took you so long though? I wonder if BB is gonna honour them with a special reward for longest unbroken record for OSD holding down the 16 weeks for two decades? Well, it's technically two decades next year and would coincide with Boyz II Men's official 25th anniversary. But what the hell do I know?

Mariah sounds like a dream within a dream and looks like a diamond dollars in the flesh. Haters: please exit stage left, Dr Jeff is waiting in the wings and will support you during this most trying and difficult time of Mariah's slayage. You need to prepare yourselves: stock up on nonperishables, call in sick to your jobs, unsubscribe to your internet and cable providers and for the love of hate, don't turn on your radios. This is not the time to take that kinda chance. Also, warn your fellow clueless hatees to take heed.

Re: Jono, radio ageism (52,838) / sexism in entertainment (52,900)
by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
| |
|
|
Male entertainers can afford scandals left and right while their female counterparts have to work 5 times as hard to achieve the same status and respect as artists, let alone producers and songwriters. Madonna has been relatively protected until now, probably due to another ism, ironically. To be fair I don't follow her enough to know if she's always had a gripe with ageism. I just can't remember her ever claiming her predecessors or musical influences. Unlike Mariah, very unlike Mariah. Notice how the narrative when it comes to women of a certain age in the media at large is: "the perpetual comeback". Paul McCartney was just featured as a collaborato on Rihanna and Kanye's Four Five Seconds. He's as old as they get and still no one would dare suggest he made any sort of comeback. As a female on the other hand, your last "performance" determines everything about what will be the story they tell about you no matter how successful you become. Remember Rockefeller? See also Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson for reference. I don't know, but I could be right. My 2¢.

The Billboard Music Awards performances are gonna be LIVE (52,898)
by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
| |
|
|
So said the queen herself just minutes ago on Twitter. She would have time to both open the festivities and accept the Award for most #1 Hot 100 songs by a solo artist. There better be a freaking stellar montage honouring that amazing achievement. without being late to the 8pm show. I'm hoping Fifth Harmony and Mariah finality meet backstage so they can finally fangurl in person and pitch their idea of having MC do a cameo in the Like Mariah video. I want M to sing VOL and Infinity. Anything else is a bonus. Also, can we talk about the continuously great synergy around Mariah right now? I mean, what were the chances of the Billboard Music Awards landing in Vegas this year and on a day Mariah isn't required to be on vocal rest? I still believe this is the year of the Butterfly. When is the official 25th anniversary date? Is it the Mariah Carey album release date or VOL's?

B and the agenda (52,855)
by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
| |
|
|
B, that website is a tabloid, no? So concider the source because it sounds like "someone" with an anti-Mariah agenda is trying to thwart the efforts of her team to get Infinity played on the radio, by way of bad press, making it seen like diehard fans are up in arms over some bullshit nonexistent reason. Simply put, trolling at its worst. Didn't you get the memo? Well, it reads: Anybody who likes a couple MC songs is considered a "lamb" these days and therefore can be quoted saying the most disparaging things about Mariah and/or lend credence to outright ridiculous claims that have nothing to do with reality. It's the oldest trick in the book. Journalistic integrity be damned. See Wendell Williams for reference. There are plenty of people who have a vested interest in seeing Mariah Carey fail. They have gone out of their way to let us all know who they are so I'll refrain from listing the usual suspects. It ain't rocket science. Anyway, I have a good feeling about Infinity, it's a sleeper. I can't wait for the Brett Ratner video. I've already learned the lyrics and cadence. It's such a great sing along song. It might surpass SIO and I am here for it.

My Vegas guess list II (52,789)
by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
| |
|
|
This list doesn't cancel out the first one and so, in no particular sequence: 1. Stevie Wonder 2. Dru Hill 3. Patti LaBelle 4. West Life 5. 98° 6. Babyface 8. Kelly Clarkson 9. R. Kelly 10. Nas Really, Mariah collaborates the most out of any artist I can think of alive or dead. I could easily make 5 more lists of possible Vegas guest stars for the #1 To Infinity shows. That's amazing. She has such a great relationship with her ego. So democratic with her musicianship despite being generally more "successful" as a singular artist. Only 4 of her Billboard #1's are duets or features. I'm impressed. So who do you guys want to see in Vegas as surprise or semi-permant guests?

Bravo to Lamb_O_Chop, B and Ethan: #1 To Infinity (52,786)
by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
| |
|
|
I love your posts because I love Infinity too. It's classic Mariah Carey. From the #1: Someday and Prisoner to Alone In Love, Can't Let go, If It's Over, And You Don't Remember, through Everything Fades Away, Long Ago, Breakdown to DIDT, Clown, YHYC through Obsessed, UOMF and Thirsty. Mariah even said as much when she told us she wrote it to fit the evolution of her as a songwriter and artist. It's familiar in theme but still innovative enough to show her enormous growth and flexibility as a songwriter over 25 uninterupted years of artistry. Mariah has managed to stay true to her core self and still give us fans new gems to cherish. Not all entertainers have the integrity, let alone talent, to pull that off. Even those lambs who don't like Infinity should be able to appreciate that and realise that Mariah can't please everybody all the time, not even herself. Otherwise it's like spending your last wish on getting the genie back in the bottle when the least you can do is wish her well.

Travon The Nostalgic (52,709) / Stockholm syndrome? (52,782)
by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
| |
|
|
One aber: Most Europeans have a much more liberal approach to censorship of four letter words like lamb so I don't think it's the best indication of Eric's personal opinion that he allows colourful language. Other than that, I mostly agree with you Travon. It is very much a question of delivery, incidentally Mariah has always been brilliant in hers. Me? I am admitedly non-chill when that particular mood strikes, I make no false pretences that I'm unbiased in any way. I am very much partial, all lambs are. Meanwhile suspect figures are trying to make the argument that a lamb doing what lambs are inhetently supposed to do are the ones being disruptive on a Mariah Carey board. But it's also very much a matter of sheer volume. Occasional hate of a song, video, dress, live performance etc is natural, most fans have minor gripes about a lot of things Mariah does just like we do about the people and things in our own private lives daily. But when that's your default position I will cry foul, every time. When you never support or defend Mariah, let alone like her music, yet you insist on regularly posting on a Mariah message board? Well, that is beyond the pale and it's just blatantly disrespectful. I find it very interesting that some posters deny the very existence of Mariah haters. Like, why would the very mention of real Mariah haters possibly posting on this board irk you so much unless you're aligned with their agendas or worse, coerced into fighting their battles?

Live singing vs pre recorded vocals is like apples vs apples (52,731)
by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
| |
|
|
What the hell kind of ignorance is there about the concept of room and space continuum that these haters always want to erroneously spread? Do we live in two parallel universes where Mariah sings live only when recording her songs but for some inexplicable can't sing in real time on stage? What is this, 1992 meets 2015? Just pure stupidity to even try and make that argument with a straight face. If it was that easy to sing like Mariah does on every single record from Weakness Of The Body to Infinity, then everybody would do it. Lesser singers have cancelled entire tours while Mariah will sing her heart out through food poisoning, broken bones and personal upheavals. She might cry while doing it but she will do it. So any intimation that Mariah Carey ever gives less than her all is as slanderous as it is untrue. If anything, she's been too generous but that's not criticism or me telling her to stop giving. I'm just saying she doesn't have to take shit from people who only choose to harp on negativity in the name of free speech while they use the term lamb to stab her in the back. She's never going to be a grade A bitch like some people but at least she's not willing to lay down and take mess anymore. That's why Infinity is more than just witty Mariah being clever, it's Mariah saying that she loves herself enough to not be used, abused or fucked with for any reason; yet she is still seeing the rainbows at the end of the tunnel. I identify so that's empowering to me.

Lamb for life is not a death sentence (52,711)
by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
| |
|
|
The way some of you posters write like the struggle is so real is something for the crazies. Woopty doo, so you don't like all of Mariah's songs, who the fuck does? We all have faves and lesser faves whether they be #1 hits or obscure tracks. Your hate ain't special, sorry, not sorry. I mean, is someone holding a loaded gun to your head ready to bust a cap in your dome unless you play songs you don't like to infinity? If you don't like it, then don't buy or listen to it. Weird, I know, but it totally works. The skip button was invented for that exact purpose, use it, for your own delicate sanity. Just because you generally like her songs inspite of yourself doesn't make you a Lamb. No one's born this way. It's quite literally an acquired taste. There is no "Lamb scale" it's all or nothing. You are either 100% rooting for her and not just her next #1 song because she as an artist and human being inspires in you a 100% devotion or you don't. To any real Lamb, she's family. I rebuke the very implication that the Lambily is a dysfunctional family. It's closer to the truth to say there are just some very vocal anti-Mariahns that bandwagon any less than positive opinion about anything she does to further their agendas. Contrary to popular belief, being a Lamb is not a basic human right. It's a priviliged choice, a very easy one as I myself can attest to. So, all of you anonymous posters out here that make it sound like a fucking death sentence can go choke on a bag of Fritos.

Mariah's body in the black mermaid one shoulder ensemble, the gloves are off (52,629)
by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
| |
|
|
I don't get why Mashable even uploaded the shaky Periscope one instead of this HQ clip unless Periscope are/were sponsoring parts of this #1 To Infinity shindig. But whatever, Mariah looks like a billion dollars. The nude mesh bedazzled premiere dress was very Vegas but unfortunately didn't photograph well. Lighting is literally everything sometimes, it can make or break your whole look. Also, her face is beat and whatever regimen she's on is working overtime. Mariah could easily shoot the Infinity video right now if she looks like this without even trying. But the biggest difference is that her laugh is back in full force, she's smiling again, with her eyes and saying the glove era just ended. So if you didn't get the memo, the gloves are officially off.

Mariah doesn't know if Boyz II Men are still her friends? (52,565)
by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
| |
|
|
Pretty poignant that neither Wanya nor Shawn have reached out to Mariah, never mind Nate after his Facebook hate rant. It's like, why you mad? At 3:00 during an interview with Brian Anthony Hernandez of Mashable: #1, I bet you'll have special guest performers during your residency. Mariah: I bet I would love to if they would join me. I don't know. Mashable: Do you think maybe Boyz II Men, since they have a residency here? Mariah: I would hope so. I would love to see Boyz II Men. I don't know if they're still my friends. I mean, I live for them. The Periscope app is flawed in continuity so the last part of Mariah's responce is somewhat lost but still, it's very nice to hear Mariah state her own opinion. I just love how she was so free of rancor, very Zen and typical of her tbh. It just further proves how out of the blue their about faces have been. I guess Infinity really does apply to quite a few situations apart from Thirsty. *Plays Infinity* Duh.
