I Am Mariah.

My Favourite Mariah Songs are: The Art of Letting Go, Fantasy & Shake It Off.

My Least Favourite album is Music Box.

My most start-to-finish listened album (don't-skip-a-track albums): Emotions, Butterfly, The Emancipation of Mimi and Me. I Am Mariah: The Elusive Chanteuse.

Re: Mariah shades A No No remix (88,728) (88,729) by Matty from Vancouver Canada
Hahahahaha that's really funny. So now both MC and JD have expressed disappointment over the remix. This reminds me of when the embarrassingly photo shopped "You Don't Know What To Do" single cover art was released and she chirped it on social media. It makes we wonder though, what does Mariah have to sign off on, and what does her label/management just push through even without her knowledge or consent?

Re: Does anyone here even stream music? (88,717) (88,720) by Matty from Vancouver Canada
Doesn't each IP address only count as one "view" or "listen"? I thought each IP address would only be counted once. You can listen to a song on repeat 100 times in a row, but it will only count as 1, because they track that it's coming from the same device.

Re: The remix we all wanted (88,639) (88,647) by Matty from Vancouver Canada
Yessss. That is absolutely the remix we were hoping for. Actually remixing Mariah's vocals so it's a switch up form the album version and all. I realized the part of the Don remix that irks me the most is how when Mariah sings "I said..." right before Don raps, Mariah sounds so abrupt cut off. The "I said" isn't a smooth transition to the rap verse at all, the way the lead-in is (I think) intended to be. If the "I said" were sung and the note was held over Don's first line, "Trippin' on 'dis saint, never been a clown", it might actually sound like MC introducing Don to the song, rather then Don just suddenly cutting in. Seeing how well done this fan remix was crafted over the official remix annoys me. Doing an amazing remix in 2019, for a talented mixer in their basement, is not an unattainable feat. They didn't even have to pay this fan to remix it and look how much better it is.

The remix hmmm #112 (88,626) by Matty from Vancouver Canada
First off, I love Stefflon Don. I love her tracks, her dancehall vibes, her spit, her flow. "A No No" is such a sassy, hot song, I expected her to come harder on the track, tbh. Her verse is a good length, but I expected more "exclamation marks" in her rhymes. I was also thinking the remix beat might incorporate a dancehall slant with Stefflon Don's addition. It's a bit of an "I Don't" Remy Ma remix. I can understand why JD went off. I mean when it only makes sense to have Lil' Kim, why not at the very least do Stefflon Don and Kim? Or do a full on women anthem ah la "Ladies Night" with all four women on the track (Don, Kim, Cardi, Missy).

It's doing what it's meant to do I guess. "A No No" remix is #112 on Canadian iTunes which isn't high by any means, but the standard release never appeared in iTunes even after the video was released. I'm glad we got new single artwork. I like the digitized neon letters the title is in.

Anyway; Caution is a fantastic album as is. No adjustments needed on this masterpiece.

Remixes I'd love:
GTFO - Club Mix by Fedde La Grand
Caution - Dancehall mix by Vybz Kartel
The Distance - Club mix by Shrillex
Giving me life - 80's electric guitar remix
One Mo' Gen - Disco Vintage Remix (in the vain of Triumphant vintage remix)
8th Grade - Club mix by Timbaland
Portrait - Full blown live orchestra mix

Mara, I'm so incredibly sorry for the lose of your mother. Your life circumstance at the moment is incredibly powerful. The universe was preparing you and providing you with some light (meeting MC and your mother knowing how happy you were that night), to help you travel through the dark. Your mother will be with you always. Never forget to take notices of all the large and small ways your mother will communicate with you from the new realm she now resides in.

Video view check-in (88,549) by Matty from Vancouver Canada
The "A No No" video is having some steady viewing this week. My guess is it'll be the most viewed video from the album sooner rather the later:
1) GTFO - 7.9M views (uploaded 6 months ago, September 14, '18)
2) With You - 6.8M views (uploaded 5 months ago, October 10, '18)
3) A No No - 2.2M views (uploaded 5 days ago, March 8, '19)

I really enjoy how well all three of these videos flow together, and watching them as a trilogy.

Re: Original Music Box track listing (88,491) (88,495) by Matty from Vancouver Canada
I agree Licia, Everything Fades Away, including my consciousness when I listen to this song. Music Box is already a pretty sleepy album, and I'm happy to put it to bed after All I Ever Wanted.

A No No single art? (88,476) by Matty from Vancouver Canada
I wonder if there's going to be new "A No No" single art? Maybe when the remix is released? "With You" single art is one of my favourite ever. Given the fantasic visuals of "A No No" video, they could do a really dope '90's neon themed single art.

Re: Remix coming (88,437) (88,445) by Matty from Vancouver Canada
Amen JD. So it's confirmed dahlings. Bet they are gonna release it in time for the start of summer. Maybe then I'll get the Shake It Off video sequel I was hoping for lol.

Was expecting Shake It Off the sequel (88,400) by Matty from Vancouver Canada
I love A No No as a song, the video is visually amazing (colours, vibe, general concept, the set, the looks and ensembles, all the semi-recognizable insta faces in the background). However I was hoping for a full on Shake It Off part 2. The look and themes would have been the perfect sequel to Shake It Off. Neon lights, sleek sexy hair and all. However, that video took four days to shoot? Didn't With You take a day to film, and there were multiple locations in that shoot? I'm disappointed after all the chatter about a remix, there isn't one. Watching GTFO, With You, and A No No in order; it's a nice thematic package of glamour shot videos that flow extremely well together. The themes and vibe of each video flow much more smoothly then the previous era of #Beautiful, You're Mine, and the non-existing YDKWTD video.

Re: The setlist (88,220) (88,226) by Matty from Vancouver Canada
Best setlist ever. I love every choice and applaud the real focus on Caution tracks. I'm surprised The Distance isn't on there because they did a bit of promo for it. But beyond happy to see 8th Grade. The #JusticeForGlitter section is a dream come true. With You into Hero will be a great transition. I'm absolutely here My Saving Grace making the cut. She needs to explore the deep cuts live way more often. Lord I hope she brings the tour to the West Coast at some point.

Mr. Smollett (88,148) by Matty from Vancouver Canada
Now that Jessie Smollett was arrested today for staging his own attack and sending himself that note to help him negotiate a higher salary on Empire; do you think Mariah and other celebs will take down their social media posts of support? I'm a massive Empire fan, and totally loved Jessie (right down to his leaked nudes online lol), but no. Wow. I can't know what to say. Disgusting and embarrassing for anyone who was his fan or supporter. I wonder what Lee Daniels thinks? Do you think he's a sociopath? This case is shocking. Guess he got to check off opening for Mariah from his Hollywood bucket list, before it all comes crashing down.

MC's age? (88,111) by Matty from Vancouver Canada
Why does wiki list Mariah's birth year as 1969 or 1970? What difference does 1 year make, it's not like she was lying to enlist in the army or something. Lol. Any insights?

See: How old is Mariah and How old is Mariah Carey? 40 or 41?

Re: My Caution world tour setlist (88,077) (88,097) by Matty from Vancouver Canada
Robert-Anthony, your preferred setlist is my favourite so far. Everyone has awesome set list suggestions so far. I think we're all ready to pass the #1s standard set list, if I'm reading everyone on this borde correctly. Here's what I would love to see:

1. GTFO intro into Heat
2. I'm that chick
3. It's like that
4. Touch my body
5. A no no remix
6. #Beautiful
7. With you
8. I don't want to cry
9. Caution
10. You don't know what to do
11. Loverboy
12. Shake it off
13. Fantasy
14. Triumphant vintage remix
15. Don't forget about us
16. The distance
17. We belong together / Butterfly closer

I think the general public and Lambs are over Hero being the "encore" at the end of a show. I think now, in 2019, We Belong Together is Mariah's signature song. Hero is getting dated, and apart of that Barbra Streisand/Celine vain of Adult Contemprary standards, which IMO doesn't represent Mariah's individual, unique artistry.

Re: Article: Mariah Carey's "I Don't" joins Hot 100 at #89 (88,062) (88,066) by Matty from Vancouver Canada
Great point Chops. Infinity also had the support of the new greatest hits compilation, the brand new Vegas show, and a music video paid for with a Match.com sponsorship. I Don't's video, as trashy as it was, got people talking. I had people who don't really follow Mariah tell me they watch the music video for the wedding dress being burned scene because it was so outrageous that she would burn a $500k dress in a fire pit (as it was framed in the media). There's been no scandal surrounding Caution, and poeple love to see Mimi in the depths of drama.

I have also wondered how I Don't and Infinity charted, yet GTFO nothing. The quaintly of all Cautions tracks are head and shoulders about either I Don't or Infinity. How?

John and Mariah (87,954) by Matty from Vancouver Canada
I would love a John Legend and Mariah Carey duet album. Lots of piano, strings, orchestra, their beautiful voices melting together. I think they could make magic together. When Christmas Comes duet version wasn't enough for me. Someone also mentioned on this board, Mariah seems to feel very comfortable working with an orchestra, so I think her output would be great.

Re: Mariah / Super Bowl (87,948) (87,953) by Matty from Vancouver Canada
Lol. I only said she should where pants, Mariah looks amazing in pants and body suits IMO. I've also been to some Mariah concerts where she moves freely and easily around the stage having a blast, and then I've been to other concerts where she stands on the X-mark the entire show (a performance like the Super Bowl needs the former, given the nature of that massive venue and audience). One of Mariah's signature and most iconic Mariah hair is the massive huge curls. I'm not sure where in my comment you felt I was re-imagining who MC is and expecting something that's not her? Everything I mentioned is the same Mariah we've seen many times before. Remember this is a hypothetical "if" Mariah were to play the Super Bowl. I'm well aware Mariah is in on the "diva glamour" persona, and lives that up and has fun playing that up. You're right it ain't that serious

Re: Mariah / Super Bowl (87,932) (87,938) by Matty from Vancouver Canada
I think Mimi doing the Super Bowl with a roaster of other big names, like they did in 2001 with Britney, Aerosmith, Mary J and 'NSYNC, would be the best play and a huge success if she were to sign on. I completely agree with her staying away from the standards she always does and really mixing it up with a medley of Triumphant Vintiage Remix, Meteorite, and A No No remix (que Missy, Cardi and Lil' Kim to also take the stage). The rest of the artist line up could be Bruce Springsteen, Cardi B, Shawn Mendes, and Shakira with an awesome dance sequence. Each artist does their own 3-4 song medley to charge the crowd up. All tastes and demos would be a tapped which is what made 2001 so successful. Also... no gowns at all on MC. She needs to wear pants, lower shoes to be able to move around the stage freely and without hand holding, and have massive Diva's Live hair circa 1998.

Re: Caution v Charmbracelet (87,863) (87,866) by Matty from Vancouver Canada
I love Charmbraclet [sic] (this is the album that I became a Lamb with), I'd love to hear more about how Caution is the second coming of Charmbraclet in your option. I see Butterfly, Charmbraclet and Caution as their own trilogy because of the cohesion, moody vibe and specific flow those three albums have. My only grip with Charmbraclet is it has my least favourite album art. The washed out colour palet that I think is meant to be Mediterranean beachy, and her facial expression. (I'm not sure what she wanted to communicate with it. Pain? Strength? Hurt? Perseverance?) I obsessed with the Caution album art. My favorite to date up there with E=MC2 gorgeous classy artwork.

Mariah's managers? 1990-2019 (87,735) by Matty from Vancouver Canada
Out of curiousity, can someone list all of Mariah's managers since the start of her career and the years they worked together (and if that manager has managed another recognized artist, list one or two)?

Re: The sequence of events (87,670) (87,674) by Matty from Vancouver Canada
Agreed. If I work for someone, and their pee is anywhere near my being... I'm out. Unless golden showers were listed in her job offer, this makes no sense. I also don't understand why Mariah is the target if her suite is all about Stella's abusive ways. (Of course it's where the money is, but pragmatically, how could Mariah be blamed for Stella's abuse?)

Does anyone remember seeing this assistant out and about with Mariah? Did this assistant not come on board at Mariah Corp. around the same time as Stella? I would assume Stella had a hand in these recordings the assistant made.

I wonder what Tanaka has to say about Stella and the assistant. He was around for the whole mess and seems to have been a savior in the situation to help pull Mariah out of this dark place.

One final thought regarding Mariah's possible drug use seen in videos. 1) She's in the music business, "it's all rock and roll baby". 2) She's a grown women who swears and probably uses some kind of substances to let loose. 3) Wasn't there a scene in Mariah's World where the crew on tour were saying they were tripping on Molly/MDMA?

Merry Mariah season (87,220) by Matty from Vancouver Canada
Merry Christmas and the Merriest of Mariah season MCA Lambs. I'm hosting a big Christmas Eve open house with my partner tonight, and you best believe you know what three vinyls will be on constant rotation at the party (hint hint: one's vinyl is red, one vinyl's a orchestral party that never disappoints, and one vinyl is getting the most rave reviews from critics across the board and 2018 best album lists).
