About Mara from United States: I'm a Mariah fan since the debut. Been through her entire career with her and may not always agree with every single thing she does, But i will always come to her defense when she gets attacked for being misunderstood. I am not a blind fan and relate Mariah to a sister who I would tell in a minute if something seems wrong or something of that nature. I come to this board to discuss her with people who I feel are true fans and yes, some don't always praise her to the heavens every single moment but we all are here for the same reason and we do adore her.

Re: Stella's backlash (70,840) (70,843) by Mara from United States
100% agree. This is the most toxic person Mariah has ever worked with as far as the press and how she represents herself. I'm sorry Stella, I'm just going by how you put yourself out there. I'm sure MC would be terrified as to what Stella could say. However, at the same time Stella giving all these unprofessional responses, perhaps people wouldn't believe her or feel she has her own things to gain. She may be doing us a favor by making herself look worse.

James Corden (70,813) by Mara from United States
On another note, James Corden came back live after the holiday break and it was his first show since George Michael passed away(still can't believe I typed that) and he clearly was a huge GM fan and was upset by his passing. He brought up how GM was the original Carpool K before he had an American show and how he sent out the tape of George doing it to all the celebrities and everyone passed. It wasn't until Mariah Carey got the tape and responded "If its good enough for George, it's good enough for me." I can't tell you how much I love her for that response and I can totally hear her saying that. She was such a fan. We all know after her, all these other celebs came out to do it and had even the advantage over her since they all were able to tweak theirs since her appearance. But this just makes me wish all the more that she would do some sort of tribute to George. If anyone should, it should be her.

Anthony / Bryan (70,812) by Mara from United States
MimiL I noticed the interaction was mostly with Anthony too and less of Bryan. That's why I was so surprised with his parting ways, as they looked like they were interacting well. But who knows, maybe all the press the dancers got with everyone mentioning how the da cars did so well and how did they hear and not her, maybe that mad her upset and he did "too good" so to speak. Not sure what to make out of the Bryan thing but I did notice it too.

Tommy (70,810) by Mara from United States
So it's all over that Tommy wrote some letter urging Mariah to get help and fire her current team and hire all new "professional" people. Also, patting his own back as to when he was with Mariah how smooth her career ran and skyrocketed. That may all be true as you definitely didn't touch the top pop princess at that time and her image was much better. However, Stella's response? If Stella is not going anywhere, I at least wish she wasn't so raunchy in her responses to the media. It's like she feels it's so important to show the world she is this "tough boss bi#%h" and it just sounds so unprofessional and low class. There are other ways to handle and present yourself and come across with more class. That is what bothers me the most about her. Now the world is seeing this, not just the fans. Maybe she should step down and nobody says she doesn't have to stay in MC's compmay but pass the job on to someone who has more experience with a star like Mariah and someone with more music experience. Seems like her past clients are reality stars.

Anthony (70,735) by Mara from United States
Anyone know if there is any truth to the story online that Anthony will no longer be working with Mariah in 2017 according to a Mariah representative since he moved the backup singers off stage to "make room for the dancers" without approval. The headlines certainly do keep coming, along with the recent *Aspen story*.

Re: Mariah's only saving grace (70,688) (70,707) by Mara from United States
100% agree with this. I even tweeted Big Jim about just Mariah, his piano and a tribute to George with "One More Try" humbly dressed and maybe at the end a choir. Literally nothing they can accuse her of lipping to. She needs this raw and now. The vocals would probably even be better than her recorded version since they sounded so chipmonk like in the album. The good thing about Grammy tributes or other ones for that matter is she doesn't even have to be on stage long. It could be her, piano, a few lines and not even the full version of the song since it's a tribute and it will get the public the point. And as the op has said, George there in the background. Stella, please get this done.

New years (70,503) by Mara from United States
She needs to come out right away and make some kind of statement or Stella needs to do her job as her manager and help her client. Say the ear piece didn't work, anything, something. This is too big to ignore. I did just get a glimpse of her but she turned away and wasn't seen close on camera. Something needs to be said though ASAP to nip this right away.

NYE (70,500) by Mara from United States
Mariah. What happened? I wish she never did it. I felt incredibly bad for her. She looked absolutely beautiful too. She looked so pissed. I would like to know what happened. Guess we will never see her at midnight now. I don't think she finished her set and walked off. This is worse than I could ever imagine. She needs to stay strong and not let this do her in. I feel a storm coming.

George Michael (70,327) by Mara from United States
I am completely devastated. I always wished for that magical duet between the best female and male in the business. How sad that one of the biggest Christmas staples in music "Last Christmas" and he leaves us on Christmas. I always listened to Where Did Your Heart Go and into Last Christmas every year wrapping gifts since that album came out. I really equate this loss on the level as someone like Mariah to me. I know she was a big fan of him and did appreciate the all around artist he was too. There was such a sadness around his life and he poured that into his writing and albums. He was never really appreciated while here and now the tributes are pouring in. Very sad. I wish this was a nightmare and it was not true, especially on Christmas. Such a sad day. I have followed him forever and I know he hasn't been seen in public for a very long time. I was hoping for that reemergening and new album and I'm sad for me and his fans that we won't get that. I hope there is some of the album done and we get that chance to hear some unreleased music. He really was one of the greats who just "had it" I think of Mariah's song "The Wind" and hope he is now "Finally At Peace".

Re: Carpool (69,996) (69,998) by Mara from United States
Just re read my post and I don't want to sound like a Debbie downer. I actually loved watching it. It is great to see so many other artists show love to the song and MC. I loved Elton, Adele and Gaga. It's amazing to see this go viral and how it's going to help the song chart. Shared it online, I just really hate when people start on her choice of clothing and minimize anything she does because of it, and NYE has me nervous because it will happen all over again if she does it again, which this entire year has been boobs out so we kinda know she will.

Carpool (69,996) by Mara from United States
Well it was nice, and so good to see MC on the late night shows including Seth which I didn't watch yet. But, I have to admit I was a little disappointed. Why Mariah comes off so damn stiff anymore I don't know. I wish she would have moved a "little", clap or something. Smile like she was having a good time. It just made every other star in the car come off like they were more carefree and fun than Mariah herself. She did seem like she was getting over a cold on cold medicine. And I couldn't even get past the first set of comments on every single comment section not matter where you watch it. It is all about the boobs. Not one comment mentions how this is her class is song or iconic Christmas staple or even the other people in the video. Literally every comment was about M's being a mom, older, too much boobs, does she own clothes that fit her, acting desperate. I hate it, and it really makes it hard when you are such a fan. I just sort of feel like this could have been a great opportunity to really get people to remember and appreciate you but we went this way. Next is New Years and I pretty much can imagine that one. I think the headline would be bigger if she covered up. She can rock a really sexy sparkly ensemble that comes up higher and covers up and still look classy and amazing. One can dream.

Re: Beacon (69,962) (69,979) by Mara from United States
Tevin, I hope you enjoy your first Mariah experience and that she does come out around the time she is supposed to. What a way to see her for the first time. There really is just something magical about her Beacon shows. There is so much put into it and she really genuinely seems to enjoy it. I really do think it is because she really does love Christmas so much. I have no doubt you will love it. She ended up coming on around 8:40 which was not that bad considering what I have heard from the staff at the Beacon. The show was wonderful but for some reason it did seem shorter than the last two years. Mariah sounded strong but something seemed off with her last night. She seemed to be someplace else. Like she was there, but she seemed distant. She wasn't as talkative as she was previous years and it kind of seemed rushed. Of course last year I was at that magical show when she came up with "Christmas In New York" and that show was just like pure heaven in every way. Anyhow, when she came out with AIWFCIY, Stella comes out with her iPhone and started filming in the isle. She was posing for pics with fans but was not overly expressive. No special guests at our show last night but all in all, still a solid festive show.

Re: Beacon (69,950) (69,956) by Mara from United States
Well I am in here now and it is apparent that the lateness is well known this year at Beacon. Totally different than 14-15. Last night was 9:06 and one night was 9:50 according to the staff. Ugh Mariah. Well for her tour with Lionel she better be on time. We know his fans will not tolerate it like some lambs that cast it off as "eh she is a diva".

Well, on my way to NY for the show tonight. Here is to hoping Mariah is on time tonight. Praying actually. Will keep you guys posted.

Hour and a half late? (69,701) by Mara from United States
Did anyone hear that M was 1 1/2 hours late for the show tonight? I heard she was late last night too. That would start the show at 9:30 if it is true. I really hope that someone online got that wrong. People have transportation lined up to get into the city and that is not cool if MC gets in the habit of doing that now. One thing about Beacon was she always started that show on time. The same way Vegas starts on time. Unless it has to do with her surprise guests and maybe their schedule didn't permit them to come earlier so she pushed the start of the show later?

Beacon (69,700) by Mara from United States
The special guest was R. Kelly and they sang The Christmas Song. Also, the Beacon is a beautiful very ornate Theatre. They do sell merchandise, some Christmas ornaments, mugs and a few things. I doubt the MAC makeup will be there though. There is a lot going on on the stage as Edward said. Lots of kids, the male dancers, Big Jim and the band, singers. Mariah handed or threw out a few random gifts when she has Santa come up for Here Comes Santa Clause. They threw out stuffed animals and a few wrapped gifts. The man in front of us last year caught a package and gave it to my daughter. It was a pair of MC Christmas socks. There were two women who nearly tackled my 8-year old for the teddy bears MC threw out toward us. The only other gifts I can think of is when you purchase the VIP package, they give you some things. Last year we got a pretty MC blanket and ornament.

Re: Stelle is here to stay (69,205) (69,208) by Mara from United States
I too think Stella isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Maybe, possibly if this "docuseries" is a complete flop and makes MC out to be a joke, maybe she will get rid of her but I feel there is a "psychic vampire" quality about Stella that she feeds off of M's insecurities and uses the empowering women and how they are both working mothers and that is what is connecting Mariah to Stella. That and that she thinks she will and is making Mariah all this money. I honestly think Mariah knows her age is a disadvantage in the music industry and her years of money making are slowing and she is doing all she can now (touring, make up, shows, Vegas, reality TV) to benefit off of that. We know Mariah makes a lot of money every year but we also know that Mariah lives an incredibly lavish grand lifestyle with private jets and always even way before Packer would yacht around Capri and holiday in Aspen and always bring along a lot of people along the way, not to mention the cost of being "her" with the diamonds, gowns, hair and makeup. She needs a lot of money to keep that lifestyle going so she will continue to do what she can since let's be honest, I don't think that involves new music right now. I hope I am wrong but I just don't think she thinks that is where the money is right now.

Re: Beacon ensemble (69,198) (69,207) by Mara from United States
Yes, Mariah is wearing a corset underneath these ensambles and that is the reason for the shapelier look. Mariah gains a lot of her weight in her neck and shoulder area and even in the dress at the premier with the single strand of diamonds I might add (which took years off her by minimizing it). Her neck area looks a little bloated, and I'm not criticizing, I'm just pointing it out. I hope she has time to keep herself healthy and take time for her. Now she is headlining a show in Dubai in February so she is not slowing down with Vegas after that. We don't really know the real Mariah and this weight gain could be medically related. Whenever you are on medication, steroids they can do things to your body almost overnight. She has every right to be like the rest of us over 40 lol and her joints could stiffen up and need medicine. I remember after the twins were born she had carpal Tunnel in her hands and that is a form of auto immune and could lead to stiffened joints and soreness all the way up the arm. Just trying to point out that we don't live our lives under the level of microscope that Mariah does and I can't imagine how that must feel having to go out there if you put a few pounds on. I hate when the holidays come around and I feel I put a few pounds on from the last. But what I don't understand and nerver will is, why push the boobs out when automatically they give you a bigger look to begin with. That long sleeve dress gives her a much slimmer look almost instantly. I love the color of that red bodysuit but just feel it's not very flattering right now and the dress that was almost identical from last year was much better fitting and not as distracting. But it comes down to if she sounds amazing, I don't care what she looks like. She is beautiful no matter what and still the best looking in the business. But the change in weight is definitely dresses or outfits with shape wear either sewn in or a corset as of late.

Beacon (69,190) by Mara from United States
I can't at the body suit for OHN. Why mess with perfection from 2014-2015. She literally looked like and angel that heaven sent down when she opened with that white diamond dripping dress and the spotlight on her. When she sang OHN in that stunning red gown she kept the focus on her God given talent, and that green/gold dress that she sang the "Christmas In NY" improv in was beautiful. I don't know why the need for the boobs thrown in your face all the damn time anymore. Side note on Bryan, I would hope it is true and she is having fun. I never really believed she was into James, especially seeing video of her kidding him on the cheek and leaving him to go with Stella like he was a cousin and of course the dinners they were filmed at. She looks into Bryan and the one pic from the MW premier party she gave that Derek Jeter look to him. Whether it's made up or not, will we really know?

Mariah's World (69,078) by Mara from United States
Well, lambs that watched it, what did you think? I do believe Mariah in this first episode wanted to take the back seat and let Stella be Queen of Mean, but I still feel like Stella wants to be the star here. She is shown almost more than MC. I feel like that whole Molly story was totally scripted for more of a story and the part where Stella advises Mariah to tell James about postponing the wedding was blatantly scripted too. I'm happy Mariah has this platform to show the world a side they don't know or a way to understand her but I don't know how much of that she will let in. I really feel like Mariah deeply trusts Stella in every way and I can only hope Stella truly feels connected the same way to MC and not in a "self gain" way but I'm sorry it just looks like Stella is beyond happy doing these personal interviews and on camera, like she is in her element. The critic reviews have been mostly pretty bad and I hope Stella realizes that Mariah's legacy and image is on the line a hell of a lot more than Stella Bulochnikov.

Re: If it's true (69,069) (69,077) by Mara from United States
While I totally agree with you B, but maybe VH1 did offer it to MC and she turned it down. Why I am thinking that is what originally happened, I don't know. I bet they did give MC first dibs and she didn't want to interact with a full stage from the get go so they gave it to Chaka. I still wonder where Vanessa Williams went if that is true. I always loved her version of "What Child is This".

Re: Divas clips (69,039) (69,044) by Mara from United States
Well, apparently she won't have to worry about how she will pull anything off because AIWFCIY is the only song she sang. No need to worry about being upstaged or doing any duet with Chaka or Patty with prerecorded vocals or live ones because she wasn't even there for the final bow at the end. I wonder why? VH1 advertised her as the headliner and she only sang one song. Kind of disappointing and I don't know, just looks a little disrespectful that she couldn't be on stage with all of them at the end. I guess they all sang Chaka's I'm Every Woman. I have my ideas why she wasn't there but whatever. Perhaps VH1 couldn't afford more than one song by Mimi.

Re: Today Show IV (68,998) (69,001) by Mara from United States
Yes, I noticed that too. I think anyone can see Mariah still has feelings for Nick. That look she gave and that smile was genuine she did literally light up when they were talking about the turban.

Today show (68,994) by Mara from United States
So Mariah's interview with Kathy Lee and Hoda just aired and they asked her about Bryan and she wouldn't answer them and only gave them a coy look but diverted like the Ellen interview and commented on the surroundings. They also asked her why she didn't cancel the E show after the JP breakup and her answer was "Why would I want to give someone that power?" Not a bad interview but she always goes off on how she feels she should look for her interviews, kind of like the Robe on Ellen.

Defending Mariah (68,993) by Mara from United States
So I have a quick question for you guys. The other day my mother said to me about the Beacon show "Aren't you embarrassed to say you are going to see her?" Now that comment hurt me more than anything because my mom has known what a die hard lamb I have been since 1990 and even emulating the hair and style throughout the 90's. She literally has been informed of everything Mariah since day one, sometimes by no choice but she always thought Mariah was beautiful with the voice of an angel. Now for her to say that to me after all these years hit me. I just normally laugh people off and have always defended her and had my responses lined up. Now, today is different. My response has been "I don't know anymore, I can't even defend her anymore" but as MC said about Whitney, we will always have the music and her back catalog and recordings. As I type this, I am listening to her Stevie tribute "You and I". What a voice in that song. But just curious what other lambs/fans have been saying to people when they go off on MC these days.
