About Malcolm from Asia:

In times of this (64,216) by Malcolm from Asia
Mariah, instead of flashing your curves, photoshopping galore to achieve that 2008 body for a moment (it wasn't even a Thursday to throwback like that), and displaying your luxurious lifestyle, how about post at least something relevant, tweet that Misty Copeland who credits you for her success in ballet or how about use your musicality, your first love, to convey sympathy and inspiration in time with this reckless series of violence and brutality. We will appreciate if you at least joined your fellow artist with that "Hands (A Song for Orlando)" tribute, you know it's timely because GLAAD organized that tribute wherein they honored you with their "Ally" award recently, in which they describe the recipient of that award as "a media figure who has consistently used their platform to support and advance LGBT equality and acceptance". GLAAD CEO even said "Through her music and outspoken support, Mariah Carey has inspired and empowered countless LGBT fans across the globe." Or if it's hard for you, at least stop posting grandiose stuff on your social media and restrict the paps in times of this. I can't, it's like you and your whole team intentionally doing this, for what? For you to look bad? For the people who supports you to eventually feel ashamed that they support an artist who doesn't care with her surroundings but herself? I wish I'm wrong, I wish and hope that I can apologize later because you have something planned regarding with what's happening today because I believe it's significant for you not only because these people supports you but because it's your ethnicity. Remember what Lee Daniels said about you at the GLAAD Awards? "Mariah is one of us, this bitch is one of us." Is that so?

Re: What concerns me (64,102) (64,103) by Malcolm from Asia
And it's sad that she acts like that at 46. It's not about being an ageist because I believe at the end of the day, there are some things that must not be done and off limits at the first place because it's just plainly distasteful. Even though it hurts as a fan, Mariah became a laughing stock for a long time now, instead of enjoying the legendary status, here she is, she does what she does, going to the other route, thanks to her "squad" who just adds up to the mockery. I don't know if she's aware for all of this but if she is, I don't know what she's thinking. Some people say that she's going the Madonna route, maybe yes when it comes to the other aspects but honestly speaking, I find Madonna more substantial than her. When it comes to social awareness, humanitarianism, individuality, she is far away from Madonna, just compare her recent posts on Instagram to Mariah and it speaks from itself. Yes she is a musical goddess, a gift from God talent and absolutely thankful that I live in an era where I hear Fly Like A Bird, Faded, We Belong Together, My All, and Through The Rain, but I can't say the same on the other sides of her. If she likes all of this, then it is what it is, it's now up to her.

Re: Mariah's World on hold at E (64,070) (64,076) by Malcolm from Asia
Couldn't agree more, there are so many to pin-point right now, well what else is new. Like in her social media, the recent posts are badly edited and the worst part is Mariah was the only one they edit so she looks like a cartoon or something with the people she's with. Just look at this, her legs come on, I can't even handle the fact that we are all seeing this from a legend, a superstar, "the biggest-selling female artist of all time" and yet she can't hire some great professionals. It all gets tiring now, it goes on and on and on, I can't see substance from her at all and it's sad that I watch her old stuff on YouTube just to satisfy myself from what's going on with her right now because I want to remember why I got to love that woman.

EssenceFestival 2016 (64,003) by Malcolm from Asia
This is very huge, 75k people. Mariah must nailed this one. The expectations are coming, I'm currently watching the live stream of the festival and they are having like a backstage moment earlier and majority of the people who interviewed were excited to see either Mariah, Diddy, or Common. This can cause her like what the Rockefeller 2014 has done to her image if she didn't give her all, I'm crossing my fingers that nothing bad will happen, that she rehearsed well, and all things are very much ready with her set list. Break a leg Mariah, all lambs are cheering you up.

Mariah Carey (63,895) by Malcolm from Asia
It's surreal to think that from being this woman, and now we are all here, seeing her acting like this. I don't care anymore if it's staged or gimmick or whatever reasons that they will make just to say that it ain't her true self, she is a mother of 2 and if it's not enough for her to act respectable, I don't know anymore. Donnie Simpson even said in that interview that she is so mature for her age, she's now 46 and I don't know what to say. You know everyone is tagging Jennifer Aniston, Gwen Stefani, Halle Berry as few of the celebrities who ages backwards, well Mariah is like that but in a bizarre and cringing way. Being a legend, paving the way for a lot of artists, sold millions of records is not right to validate her to act like this and this comes from a frustrated fan who wants the best for her and for other people to not only see what she have achieved or her as this shady diva but to see how genuine she is as a person and to respect her as a human being.

Re: Um what? (63,837) (63,845) by Malcolm from Asia
There are many other ways to show or display sexiness more than being tacky or tasteless. There are a lot of celebrities that shows their assets but still having the sense of class and style. And also as a fan, I don't love it or like it and it's not because I want for her to dress like a nun or whatever or just because of her age, it's just plainly gaudy and messy, seems like a desperate move.

Re: JLo - Mariah (63,815) (63,820) by Malcolm from Asia
Yes that's true. I heard that last week on his podcast after his honest commentary about their Vegas shows. He didn't said that JLo's not good, he even said JLo is a good performer, it's just that he likes Mariah's show more. Who's classy now? So it's not big of a deal as everybody makes it out to be, JLo? You even said that you don't really buy in to all of the nonsense but you're not happy about what Perez said? Well it makes sense.

2014 Elusive Chanteuse show (63,812) by Malcolm from Asia
She's so beautiful here. I'm confused because 2014 gained her a lot of weight but she looks fantastic here, her body looks thin and her face doesn't look full compared today. Her make-up also looked great.

Re: Perez Hilton (63,681) (63,705) by Malcolm from Asia
This is the whole part of his podcast where they discussed about Mariah's Vegas show: "Let's talk about Vegas. I saw JLo and Mariah Carey and this might surprise people, it's surprise me, I enjoyed the Mariah Carey show better than JLo. And here's why."
"Is she singing again?"
"Yuh. She's always been singing. "
"She kinda was falling apart there for a little bit."
"Maybe."
"I know there was some stuff."
"There was a moment yes but she sounded amazing but even more than that, like I think that JLo was a better performer. She's a performer, Mariah is a singer although I loved her energy that she had on stage like Mariah is not a dancer but she sounding great and also gave off this vibe that she was so happy to be there. But that's not why I enjoyed the show, it was just a better production and if I somehow was able to get access to the financials and how much they spent on it, Mariah's show just looked like money. Whereas JLo's show by comparison having seen both back to back felt low-budget. Some of my friends there from Vegas is like 'Oh it is because of that theater.' I'm like no, Britney is in that theater. And the Britney's show feels bigger budget than the JLo one. I think JLo needs to revamp the show in the future but with a brand new creative team, like she barely had any visuals."
"Is the set flat?"
"Yah, the set was front-loaded meaning there was only one big set piece and that was the very top of the show. And then afterwards there was just small things that moved whereas with Mariah, it was a big set and used in such an inventive way from the lighting to the videos, to the graphics to everything. And it really felt past and present like I was getting current day Mariah but she did all of her #1 songs and there were throwback moments and throwback videos from the past like JLo didn't have any of that. Like usually when you go see somebody in Vegas like Britney, she'll have like a megamix video of all of her best videos and looks and performances and all that jazz but I didn't get that. And even the fashion. I didn't think the fashion for JLo was amazing. She's a great dancer but I thought the choreography was not inspired like she needs a better team to put on her show for her."
"Did it feel like a money grab?"
"No. She's still gave her all."
"She gave her all okay, so it wasn't like completely phoned-in set."
"No. Not whatsoever. Well it did feel not completely on the cheap clearly, but it didn't feel as big budget as I would've like. It didn't feel as big budget as the Britney's show or as the Mariah's show."
"But there long enough whether not a two-month run, right? So she must put a lot more money into it."
"Oh yeah, yeah. I mean maybe she wasn't given more I don't know what it is, I wasn't disappointed."
"I got you, I got you. Like Mariah's better."
"Yeah which surprised me because I was for sure gonna be like 'Oh my god JLo is gonna like, oh let me have it or whatever.'"
"Give you a lot of fashion."
"I mean she did but I didn't even love it."
"So what did Mariah do, that so, like I'm ashamed to say I don't believe I've ever seen Mariah Carey live. So I mean it is like a Rihanna-type show, is it more like an Adele show or she just stands there."
"No. No, it was a big production, she had multiple costume changes, she had a huge set, she had huge set pieces like a car came in and out, a jet ski came in and out."
"Oh that's cool."
"Yeah, like huge graphics in an entire video wall that she actually used. JLo had a video wall too and she barely used it. I don't know why because in that same theater, Britney uses the video wall and JLo doesn't. Mariah had dancers and everything, it was a diva-pop star meets vocal awesome performance."
"I haven't heard anyone actually comment on Mariah until now, is it a brand new show? Are you there for like night 3 or something or is everyone just kinda miss about on how good this really is."
"No it's not a brand new show but she was in Vegas I think last year and I think that this might be her first show since last year."
"Ah okay, maybe that's it."
It gives me smile that he felt the show is really good. It's just an honest opinion and doesn't had any amount of shade, I love it.

The truth (63,591) by Malcolm from Asia
Thank you for this. Though I always thought Demi has some vocals too but this entire thing is the best, only facts once and for all. It's crazy because Demi's fans on the comment section only responses with unnecessary and irrelevant things like ("Demi queen yasss") and curse words, they can't handle the truth lol. Kidding aside, this really address the entire thing and I hope other people who write off Mariah will see this.

Re: Demi (63,500) (63,502) by Malcolm from Asia
I agree. I wish that her management learns something from this, time to fix up her image a little bit especially in her social media accounts. Just please end that "I don't know her" saga or whatever JLo related things. I'm pissed that Mariah's name is the one who suffers when actually this things started to brought up in JLo's side but it is what it is so just leave it like that because she can't clearly win that in the eyes of them, JLo will always play the one who is above the fray, nice, and respectable after she keeps talking anyway. And Stella come on now, please keep away Mariah's accounts from your daughter I'm begging you. Hand it with professional ones who will cater on her image's sake and not with the hashtags, blurry photos, and ridiculous captions.

I apologize if my post came as dreary I guess I just felt worn out reading this board in the past few days. I do agree with you though, she deserves a management that is on her level.

Re: Demi attacks Mariah (63,491) (63,495) by Malcolm from Asia
She's totally out of the line, I'm in shock when I saw the news and the posts. But I'm also glad that majority of the people is on the right side, she got dragged with her own actions.

Demi Lovato (63,493) by Malcolm from Asia
This girl clearly doesn't know what the history is behind that Mariah and JLo thing, and yet she chooses to voice her unnecessary opinions. Mariah only shades/diss when it's due, it's not like she's saying these things because she only wants to with no apparent reason, she just speaks up her mind in that sense. But this is what I'm saying, Demi is the representation of the general public who doesn't get Mariah and only sees her as this arrogant and egocentric diva. Sadly it is like this, this, and this. Saying that you don't care about the public's take on her, but yeah, she is one of the most misunderstood personalities in Hollywood.

Lambily (63,453) by Malcolm from Asia
This messageboard is already dominating the negatives and it's sad. We've become so much into Mariah's actions even with the smallest and pettiest things. I miss those times when I visits this with its good vibes feel and the negatives were moderate. At the end of the day we doesn't know what Mariah is actually doing behind the camera. Beyoncé have her hives, Rihanna have her navy even Madonna have her rebel hearts if we can call them like that, but I can't say the same with Mariah if we are still her lambs. This is too much, just give her a break.

Aretha Franklin - Kennedy Center Honors 2015 (63,187) by Malcolm from Asia
So I just watch this performance of hers from last year and wow, I'm blown away at how she pulled that off at the age of 73. Her tone doesn't really change at all, her power maybe yes, it's more reserved but it's understandable because of her age but while I'm watching it, it really feels like I'm watching one of the rehearsals of Divas Live 1998. I'm blown away by her voice at this age, it's just wow, like what I have read in the link Pau share with, "not everyone is Aretha". So I wonder, can Mariah pull off a performance at the age of 73? I hope so. Pau's link is a great read. One thing's for sure, years will pass and Mariah Carey will always mention along side with Whitney, Aretha etc. when it's all about the voice, success, "diva" so on, so forth.

Re: Vegas June 2016 (63,149) (63,158) by Malcolm from Asia
Agreed. Her opening gown looks great, it's very Grammys 2006 but the fur coat honestly doesn't go along with it, it looks like they force Mariah to wear it for the sake of pushing a Vegas-themed ensemble. This is also good and the one she wore on the Infinity part. The red outfit could have been perfect if it is actually the original gown Mark Zunino posted on Instagram. Wish they stuck with the original black and gold body suit in the Honey part, it looked phenomenal on her. Okay now I'm ranting haha but anyway here's the highlights of her first show.

Vegas June 2016 (63,146) by Malcolm from Asia
Based on the few clips that I've seen, there's many fashion no no's but damn it I'm more concentrated in her voice, her confidence got even more stronger. I think I will rant privately about her outfits because honestly I expect more.

Re: Gwen (62,965) (62,968) by Malcolm from Asia
I agree with you. That's what I'm saying, like Janet, Gwen did not match the success of her previous album but they can always proudly say that their visuals came from an intellectual minds and worked really hard to create videos like that. They are always consistent that after 10-20 years, new generation will watch those and they will be impressed on how much these artists put effort in their works. No offense to the body of work that Mariah has given us by her discography, I know it will stand the test of time but I can't say the same with the visuals she's releasing now a days. Kudos to their creative teams and also for them for not letting to suffer the beauty of creating a visual.

JLo responded (62,932) by Malcolm from Asia
And now she absolutely projected as the bigger person, the good one and wins the heart of everyone while Mariah appears to be the mean one and bitter. I can't, JLo's response was the best and straightforward, something Mariah hasn't done with this issue. But I must say that JLo is the one who started and brought this one up, in fact Mariah hasn't said one single thing about her in years until JLo kept talking. And now for her it's not that big of a deal blah blah after all the "forgetful", "Britney, because she dances", and after Mariah dwells about it? But yeah, in the eye of the public she is the good one which we doesn't really know, maybe "it's all Hollywood"? This one must be stop, for once address what must to be addressed or at least use her "diva" skills and request to not talk or mention about it anymore beforehand. It's enough.

Re: Mariah's brand/image (62,816) (62,822) by Malcolm from Asia
But it doesn't mean the video was great. I can't elaborate why but I can tell that it isn't beautifully crafted. The usage of random photos of cars and boats in the part of "why you tryin to play like you're so grown" alone is a no no. I only like the "infinity"/purple parts but the rest looks patchy. This is one example of a well executed lyric video.

Re: Mariah's brand/image (62,766) (62,772) by Malcolm from Asia
I agree with you. That's my question for a long time now. I don't understand why Mariah Carey, one of the best-selling artist in history of music, 18 #1's, one of the queens of R&B, agreed to make a music video like the "Auld Lang Syne", had a lyric video like "Infinity"and the list goes on. I'm not saying that her image must be like in the "Tommy" era but a little bit precaution in actions, choosing the fashion choices that suits with her caliber and consistency in making great visuals are not that bad especially in the industry where she's revolving because I do believe that at the end of the day "image is everything".

Article: Mariah Carey back in business with Hallmark Channel (62,599) by Malcolm from Asia
I'm happy for her but what will happen to her music? Can she do all of this? Please no more A Christmas Melody type of acting. From what I have seen in all of your messages and all of the online comments about her, all I want this Christmas is for her to have a classier management that doesn't have more agenda than managing their client especially of her caliber. Class is what Mariah's losing now, she had that back in the day. It's really frustrating and sad that from being the ultimate darling of the public, hit or miss you know she's there, she will always deliver, and now we are all here.
