Boxing Day streaming day (91,974)
by T from USA
| |
|
|
It is slightly behind in the UK at #2. This is it's big chance getting her a third number one. It really is now or never, as she's thrown everything at the wall. As well as a third week in the USA. Things will fall big time tomorrow so I do think we the lambs need a streaming day on December 26th. It could make all the difference. Don't quit now. One more massive streaming effort.

Mariah against the music (91,960)
by T from USA
| |
|
|
Remember in 2003 when Madonna teamed up Britney and it gave her career a little jolt? Actually a big jolt because her next studio album was the very successful COADF. I wonder if Mariah duetting with Ariana would possibly be this generations version leading one one last successful mega selling album by MC? Just a thought.

Wally A listed first (91,891)
by T from USA

Why in the credits on YouTube for the new video does Walters name appear first in the writers category? Is that Sony’s way of says no he wrote more of it? Or is that just how it was registered at the very beginning?

I think she loves her babies too much to re-record and change them out right. Even when she re-recorded AIWFCIY on MCIIY she basically kept it exactly the same. I would love a jazz album if she worked with the right people. I would also love an album she completely produces herself but I'm not sure that's possible given that she can't play instruments. So someone will always be in the back ready to take some of the credit. Honestly, she's had so many downs that I wouldn't mind her stopping recording right now and end on this super high. People love her, she's seen as a living legend, why jeopardize that now?

I totally agree with Poo Bear. I think the next time out they will come up with even better songs, hard to believe but I really do. However, you can't have another "Butterfly" without Walter A unfortunately. He was right, together they do a certain kind of pop song that hasn't been able to be done without the both of them together. Butterfly benefited by that partnership.

Stream like there's no tomorrow (91,831)
by T from USA
| |
|
|
Bieber releasing a new single December 24th could ruin Mariah's chance at being the only artist to have a #1 in 4 separate decades. He usually sells 300k in the first few days. AIWFCIY will do 20k so the only chance we have in our control is streaming. Chart week starts today December 20-26. Don't take anything to chance. Stream like there's no tomorrow.

She will never go back with him. It could also be pride. I mean her instrument isn't anywhere where it was when she left him.

I would like to think with all of Mariah's hard earned work, Tommy and Walter might have helped her get her last ever #1. She should call them both and say thank you.

I know what you mean but how crazy would it be if Old Town Road only got to fifteen weeks and Mariah still held that record too. If only.

When people say "yea but it was bound to happen", they mean for like one week during Christmas. Sure, but this is very different. This is a mid-December #1 hit in 2019. If she stays at #1 for three straight weeks then it will also be a long running #1 hit.

#1's world tour (91,719)
by T from USA
| |
|
|
I'm thinking she should either have a hot single waiting for January or she should capitalize on this by announcing a #1's world tour. (Singing AIWFCIY in July lol.) Let's keep up the streams and the sales because three weeks in a row and a fourth decade would be huge as the rules could change by next year so three weeks might be all we get. Don't quit now.

Juicy Wrld will be #1 next week and possibly the week after. Mariah's big chance will be Christmas week. I wish she could've done it in 2019 and 2020 but it looks like Lady Luck isn't on her side.

She won’t be #1 next week. But there will still be two weeks to try and get it. My feeling is Christmas week, but don’t forget streaming the heck out of it on Boxing Day US lambs. That will be our only chance.

Re: December 26th AIWFCIY lamb streaming party (91,537) (91,539)
by T from USA
| |
|
|
This is the kind of unfocused strategy that will help it miss the #1 spot. It's never going to happen in the weeks leading up to Christmas. Mariah's team knows this that's why all single shipments are happening on December 20th. Let's take the cue from them and make it happen. My point is Boxing Day on the 26th is where we may loose the top spot so if anything is going to be organized it should be for that day to keep the song up.

December 26th AIWFCIY lamb streaming party (91,535)
by T from USA
| |
|
|
I think the only (and best) shot for #1 is going to be Christmas week. December 20-26, those seven days. Period. The world shuts down and AIWFCIY takes over. The only day to watch is the 26th. Airplay, sales and streams will die a big death that day so the fans have to commit to a big streaming party or something that day. Like the first anniversary of Caution when we got streams 20% higher on that day alone. Can this be organized? Take nothing for granted she could literally miss the #1 spot by two points.

Re: Get off auto pilot, Mariah - keep creating (91,434) (91,444)

I just don't think fans will be happy if she doesn't push herself the way they are used to seeing her do. She's in a different category for some reason. Just releasing music like Smoky Robinson does won't please her fans. Actually the industry as a whole still compares her to her peak times as well as still putting her in the same standards as the much generation of pop stars. So that's why I think one more full blown era with all stops is all she should do. After that test on the legacy, tour the vast catalogue.

I agree but I do think one last album is all she needs. Her voice isn't what it once used to be and after about 30 years acts start to become more obscure and niche. Also if she doesn't feel like promo or playing the awards game then she will always have quick eras that really don't go anywhere. Caution is a masterpiece but if nobody hears it then did it really matter? I like how she's cementing her legacy, even though it seems a bit early she has been around a long time. And sometimes the market dictates when you become a legacy act. I wish she released more than just two albums this decades but I understand she had kids.

Re: AIWFCIY, 19th #1 (91,425) (91,428)

Streaming and buying are the Friday to Thursday. Radio is the Monday to Sunday. So on the week of Christmas radio will only have three days unfortunately (23rd, 24th, 25th) but sales and streaming will have six (20th-25th). It's a long shot but streaming is enough on those six days combined with three heavy days of radio she has a shot. Christmas 2021 is when the week lines up better as Christmas falls on a Thursday (end of the week for both formats). But we can't wait another two years.

You have to buy the song on the peak week from iTunes starting December 20th. Also pre-order the physical single on Amazon or her website. That will really be helping the song go to number 1. Plus stream on the week of December 20th. Spotify and YouTube. Maybe even call a few of your local radio stations that week to request the song. It’s going to take an effort on all those fronts to achieve the almost impossible.

Next album: Gospel Jazz Soul (91,417)
by T from USA
| |
|
|
I hope she takes a real live musical route with her next album. Songs in the vein of The Wind, Vanishing, My Saving Grace and Fly Like A Bird. I think she should produce the whole album by herself and show everyone how far her talents go. Keep it to eleven songs to mirror her debut and simply call the album "Mariah". The Grammys and the industry as a whole would die. I loved "Caution" but I don't want anything current of the moment from her next. Forget charts or sales. It's probably her last album on her contract anyway. I want something so timeless. Something so organic. Something so different than her other albums but still so true to who she is as an artist.

Mariah and Celine, All I Want For Christmas (89,015)
by T from USA
| |
|
|
If they did do a song together everybody would undoubtedly compare it to their former work or even the duet between Mariah and Whitney. So I'm thinking to not do an original song at all, unless it's an original Christmas song. People have more mercy on Christmas songs and they are both very famous for their holiday material. They could cover a Christmas song or even better yet, duet on AIWFCIY. I mean if she did it with Bieber. Get that 19th #1 Mimi.

Mariah shades A No No remix (88,728)
by T from USA
| |
|
|
I traveled all the way to the Toronto show last night and it was well worth it the moment she shaded the "remix" by starting the Fantasy remix with saying how to her, remixes are supposed to be redone in creative new ways. Then she gave a big sassy Mariah smile and the fans went crazy. It was a moment. (I think it was a shot at Epic and/or Roc Nation.)

40 million on YouTube views for Caution (88,656)
by T from USA
| |
|
|
I hope she can get 40 million views with Caution album on YouTube. It would be pretty respectable if after the era ends (by the end of the world tour) if she has these stats:
- GTFO music video: 10 million - With You music video: 10 million - A No No music video: 10 million - A No No audio video: 2 million - A No No lyric video: 1 million - Caution audio video: 1 million - The Distance lyric video: 1 million - Giving Me Life audio video: 1 million - One Mo' Gen audio video: 1 million - 8th Grade audio video: 1 million - Stay Long Love audio video: 1 million - Portrait audio video: 1 million
A few of these goals she's already reached, the others are very close. Right now she sits at around 25 million views for Caution.
