About darrian liu from taiwan:

Re: Beyonce (61,718) (61,729) by darrian liu from taiwan
It is projected to top Billboard 200 next week with 550,000 equivalent albums sold. Billboard itself basically said that Lemonade will top the chart next week lol.

Re: Beyonce (61,701) (61,706) by darrian liu from taiwan
I thought Beyonce's first 3 albums were kinda weak (save for singles like Crazy In Love) compared even to "4" (which is technically her flop album). Her self-titled album was her second strongest album and her latest album, Lemonade is full of wonders (her best to date). I mean the album's amazing. And I thought her image up to the release of "Beyoncé" was too airbrushed, too perfect. I love her even more now that she's more fearless to express what she wants to say and how she wants her music to sound like (first 3 albums are kinda formulaic, "4" was when she started to screw radio-friendly formulas) and her new songs are so raw and sublime and fresh imo. I truly feel like she's gonna be a legend. Now, let's go back to Mariah.

Re: Another hints (61,694) (61,705) by darrian liu from taiwan
I can't breathe seriously. I mean with the hashtags? It's almost obvious that Mimi and Yonce are up to something.

Re: Mimi and Yonce? (61,687) (61,704) by darrian liu from taiwan
My fingers has been crossed so much I think it's starting to break. But I would want a more "out-there" single, with Mimi and Yonce blending weird genre concoctions and awesome lyrics.

Re: Mariah's concert in Paris, question (61,524) (61,526) by darrian liu from taiwan
I think it has got something to do with Prince's passing. Such a great artist he was. All my prayers for his family. I could only imagine how much of an influence Prince had on Mariah. I guess Mariah was really affected by his passing.

Re: The breast boob (61,512) (61,523) by darrian liu from taiwan
Sorry, but your post comes off as sexist. Why can't a female artist wear revealing clothes and act sexy and not become respected? It is sexist to say that Mariah should cover up to be more respected. Nobody should receive less respect for wearing more revealing clothes. So what if she exposes her twins? So what if Mariah chooses to act sexy? So what if she chooses the sing in little clothes? Does that take away from her talent and her craft? Smh, you really do think that Mariah deserves less respect for wearing clothes that she like?

Re: MIAMTEC vs Butterfly (61,486) (61,489) by darrian liu from taiwan
Well, it's just an opinion. I thought Emotions had rich, soaring vocals and Merry Christmas had outrageously heavenly tone, but Daydream, in my opinion, showed Mariah having more restraint on her vocals and that's why I said Daydream was the best.

Re: MIAMTEC vs Butterfly (61,448) (61,473) by darrian liu from taiwan
Butterfly definitely edges out MIAM. For me, it depends on which aspect of the album we focus on. For the vocals, Daydream is the best of her career imo. Lyrically, I thought Butterfly is her best, however melodically, Daydream and MIAM slightly beats Butterfly in my opinion, although Butterfly gives a more remarkable imprint sonically as it is raw and more original. As a vocalist, imo Daydream is her magnum opus. But as an artist, Butterfly deserves that title. MIAM doesn't measure up to those albums as the production falls short of the subtle, graceful production value of Butterfly and Daydream, the vocals lack the effortlessness of Daydream, the sound not as uplifting as TEOM, nor it is as raw as Butterfly neither it is as graceful as Daydream and it is not as consistent (there were great songs, but some of them just failed to resonate). However, MIAM will always hold a special place in my heart as the album that shows Mariah's strength and perserverance despite the problems surrounding her.

Re: Hello (me) I am (61,387) (61,396) by darrian liu from taiwan
My friend used to say that Mariah couldn't sing anymore too, especially after the Rockefeller incident. So I just showed him the SSFT clips and compilations and made him eat his own words lol.

Re: Thoughts (61,382) (61,395) by darrian liu from taiwan
I don't think it would suit her voice. I think if she comes out with a new song, the song should really be stripped back so that her voice is the centrepiece of it. Maybe even a more acoustic, raw R&B vibe to it will really highlight her vocals.

Cologne and Munich (61,394) by darrian liu from taiwan
She destroyed those dates. Mariah didn't just snatch wigs, she literally skinned the scalps off people's head. I can't wait to hear new material. Imagine her voice with killer music and stripped back production, leaving her voice with all its glory.

Re: One more (61,336) (61,342) by darrian liu from taiwan
I agree. I always thought Mariah doesn't really suit heavy makeup. She looks the best with light makeup imo, like the cover of Style magazine. But then let's just focus on Bianca's return. I literally screamed when I saw Mariah with the black hair.

I love that version of Triumphant. Although it's fan-made, I actually prefer that version of Triumphant.

Re: Future releases (61,210) (61,228) by darrian liu from taiwan
That's why. Unlike previous years, 2015 and 2016 are quite unpredictable, but the one thing I noticed is that recent hits' production sounded simpler and less crowdy. Unlike 2012-2013 for example, those years' hits were packed with synths and dance beats with a lot going on with the instrumentation. This year's hits, from "Work" to "Hello" to "Hands to Myself" to "Love Yourself", there are not many layers of instrumentation and the production are kept minimal, to the point you can hear every single layer of instrumentations easily. That's why I thought Mariah should keep her next single's production really simple as it will really suit her amazing vocals. I guess we did describe WBT lol, but not another replica, please.

Future releases (61,209) by darrian liu from taiwan
I want to avert from the current topic for a while and thought about what kind of song could get Mariah back on the top of the charts. I'd say maybe a song with minimal production and beats and a straightforward vocal performance with a good melody. What do you guys think?

Re: Emotions (61,088) (61,125) by darrian liu from taiwan
To be fair, nobody else could sing Emotions like Mariah can. Only Mariah really could breathe life to that song. I can't imagine any other artists singing Emotions as well as Mariah did.

SSFT Oslo vocals (61,010) by darrian liu from taiwan
Are amazing. Really bright, clear and smooth.

Mimi's booty (61,004) by darrian liu from taiwan
While they're beautiful, I don't think that pic will do any good to Mariah. Mariah's losing the weight and she looks incredible but there are better ways to show off her body. I bet Stella's the one taking that pic.

Re: Not a fan anymore (60,963) (60,964) by darrian liu from taiwan
I also like both songs. I thought Dangerous Woman is more of a The Weeknd 's Earned It ripoff, although imo Dangerous Woman is better. I agree on Be Alright, it doesn't really have a climax or anything particularly exciting although it is catchy and quite good. I love how at least Ariana tried to not rip off Mariah and try something new instead. I really hope that she'll find her own voice soon (this is her third album and she still doesn't have her own identity). Meanwhile, will Bey really release her album today? Most importantly, will Mariah really sing in there? Literally Bey got me really excited about the potential collab.

Her F5 is really clear and nicely mixed. Her resonance is exceptional.

Re: SSFT vocals so far (60,927) (60,930) by darrian liu from taiwan
This tour has been serving paradise-quality vocals. [...] Her voice is literally making me emotional. I just can't. I'm speechless. She gotta have that chart slaying hit somewhere in her studio. [...]

Re: Stella takes her antics up a notch (60,909) (60,911) by darrian liu from taiwan
Mishka seems to act really adult-ish for a 12 year old. People say that girls mature faster than boys but I don't think a 12 year old girl wearing full on contour and make up with alcohol around her is appropriate, even if people say girls mature faster. I just hope Roe doesn't end up that way.

Re: Mariah's second coming (60,892) (60,900) by darrian liu from taiwan
Her head voice has been the best she has ever sung in years since probably 2008. She's actually balancing out her mix more and more and her belts have been more open-throated, singing open Eb5s. Likewise her vibrato is really even and rolling. Mariah has been training hard and it shows. Get ready for some Billboard slayage.
