About Jamie from UK:

Re: Mariah: The Diva, The Demons, The Drama (87,155) (87,175) by Jamie from UK
I didn't mind it tbh, a little far fetched in parts but I think it helped people understand her background and as to why Tommy affected her so much. Plus it made Stella look like the complete blame for the last few years. And it was nice to see Morgan and Alison being nice about her. I did laugh at the Brenda double though haha. And it finished praising Mariah about her future which I thought was great.

Re: Christmas tour (86,691) (86,741) by Jamie from UK
I'm not going this year, I went last year and I've got other stuff to be buying at the moment. If it was a full tour I'd defo be going but while it's an Christmas one I've decided to give it a miss this year. I feel like a bad fan as been to every other UK concert but there comes a time when you have to prioritise things. And I can't see the show being much different to last year's.

Re: Mariah sales (86,482) (86,485) by Jamie from UK
I think some fans were probably disconnected after the last couple of years, I think now it's about gaining their trust and loyalty back. I love the album I just don't think the choice of lead single was strong enough to make an impact.

I personally don't think Ariana's Sweetener album is any better than Caution. It just had a banger of a lead single mixed with her current popularity. It's by no means better than Dangerous Woman.

I think it's what they do now to boost sales, they've already laid the foundation, got her sorted mentally, she's learning to accept her current voice and she's done a great album. They just need to get the next single right then I think it will make a difference.

But let's not forget she's way on in her career now, yes she's an icon and still gets the public and media attention and will be remembered for years to come. But let's not fool ourselves into thinking she's gonna hit the hey days again. Enjoy the album and the progress she's made over the last couple of years. After all NYE could have finished her all together and look we have new music to enjoy.

I think when A No No is released it will be played more on radio and sell more.

Re: Mariah sales (86,475) (86,480) by Jamie from UK
I believe they are doing everything to build up her popularity with the public again, she's been a lot better of late so let's hope it continues. It's been a couple of crazy years for her, especially not controlling her Bipolar very well. I guess it's hard to be yourself with the public when a lot of your biggest hits were at a time when a record company were portraying you as this wholesome persona. She's expressed herself at times over the years probably when she was manic and the public haven't understood her actions. Hopefully now she's more settled and level she'll portray herself in a better light. I love this album it feels modern but quality again to me. Hearing it blasting out at the Mariah Experience in NYC today was amazing.

Any one headed down to the Mariah Experience in New York? I'm gonna go tomorrow or Saturday. Anyone know how much it is to get in?

Re: A lengthy meditation on the album (86,306) (86,309) by Jamie from UK
Maybe it's how you perceive her to be? The balladeer wouldn't have lasted past the 90's unfortunately. Often early on in a musicians career especially back then the record company would turn people into who they wanted them to be (George Michael, Whitney to name a couple). Inevitably like every human we evolve and change over time.
I personally love this album and vocally it's stronger than MIAM. She's more edgy like on Butterfly. Is it a Music Box? No but that type of music isn't made anymore. Best thing to do is appreciate the journey she's been on, no ones perfect. Artistry comes and goes, who's to say she won't write a huge hit in 10 years time?

Probably showing my age here but what does One Mo' Gen mean? Loving the album. Feels like we got quality edgy Mariah back.

Re: AMA / disgruntled fans sticking around (84,719) (84,746) by Jamie from UK
Whitney's voice is more powerful than Mariah's, always was it wasn't a case of Mariah getting embarrassed they are both equally great singers.
Drugs aside I don't think even Whitney's voice would have been the power house it was at this stage. Voices change, people lip sync at various times it's just the way it is. I'm no singer but I love a good belt out in the car while I'm driving. If I've got a cold or under the weather I notice I'm not as good, but god forbid Mariah was to get a cold at some point in her 28 year career. I mean can you imagine a star not feeling well at points in their career? Wouldn't that be terrible if people actually discovered she was human and suffered the same as the rest of us.

I’d love a GTFO Remx. "GTFO Andrew (you're getting on my last nerve)" - MCArchives group forum remix.

I rest my case. This type of offensive messaging towards other members should not be allowed.

Be nice or leave? (84,659) by Jamie from UK
The rules quote "Messages that are insulting (to Mariah, other artists or members of this messageboard) will not be posted." So why is it certain members of this forum are allowed to? Mariahs rep was right last night "Wow we can't even get through five minutes without someone trying to tear her down." This forum is becoming so negative it's draining.

I've done a 3 track playlist, GTFO, With You and Do You Think Of Me. The vocals in DYTOM complement GTFO and WY.

Re: Maybe it's time to pass the pen (84,464) (84,480) by Jamie from UK
It’s been 21 years since she collaborated with Walter, she’s had plenty of great songs without him. They probably wouldn’t have the chemistry anymore it’s been that long. People need to move on.

Don't compare (84,408) by Jamie from UK
I think it's important to focus on the here and now, no point comparing anything from the 1990's. Yes Mariah was at her peak then, hell so was I.
