Re: Will Mariah's popularity recover or are Lambs just old? (68,600) (68,601) by Licia from USA
Thanks for filling those words in. That's tame compared to what I thought she said. Lol.

Re: Will Mariah's popularity recover or are Lambs just old? (68,589) (68,600) by Licia from USA
Maybe us old lambs have the good sense to know that extra followers won't necessarily mean success and that she doesn't have to go this route for attention. As you said people want to see a train wreck. They don't really care about her as an artist or as a business woman. They just want to see messiness. She might obtain the highest ratings ever for her show, but I can bet these same followers won't buy her music, won't go to see her movies, or support her in anyway unless there is messiness involved. If the masterplan is to ruin her reputation further and make her joke then it's going exceptionally well. I wish all the fun names that us elderly fans got called weren't censored. Lol. [Webmasters: The fun names were: old, mean, miserable, and lonely.]

We love Nick (68,599) by Mirage_Nunez from America
Disclaimer: Sorry webmaster just need to clarify this one last thing. No one is more drained and tired of this topic than me. The "part time parent" comment wasn't meant to come for Nick's parenting "skills", because like I've said many times before he's a great dad to Roc and Roe. It was more so towards the notion of not living in the same household with his children on the daily basis. Also if he continues to "be fruitful" with different women, then being a "part time parent" will be inevitable. Roc and Roe's daddy time threatens to dwindle if split with 25 other kids. It'll just be even harder to balance 8 jobs and a bunch of kids from different women. Things happen I know life isn't perfect, but just stating why there's an ideal way of planning a family with a spouse. I guarantee you Mariah and even Nick would agree. After all they both have strong spiritual backgrounds and thought they'd be together forever.

Yes please, Nick is a significant part of Mariah's life, but is just so irrelevant to us fans in general and has occupied quite an unwarranted chunk of space on this board.

With the greatest of respect, Sheila, if the "masterplan" you speak of is to gain Instagram followers by leaking fake stories to TMZ, I'd rather she remained unpopular.

Here is an Ellen "preview". Seems like she won't be revealing much. I am sure it will all play out on her reality show.

Dear nothing is wrong with my comprehension at all. I haven't taken anything out of context. I started my own spin off topic about people running to Nick's defense when he's call out on his mess (and attacking Mariah in the process). I suggest you go all the way back and notice that my original post wasn't directly quoting anyone else's post. I'm gonna need you and your friend to not question my intelligence or comprehension skills when evidently you are the ones missing my point. Perhaps if you read my post a few more times the will come on, because I won't be re explaining it again. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Re: Mariah's popularity will never recover (68,582) (68,591) by darrian liu from taiwan
That means we absolutely should give Rihanna 3 more number ones - that way we'll light a fire under Mariah's butt and get her going again. I really want to see in person that airplay and chart dominance she had in 1990s and 2005.

Will Mariah's popularity recover or are Lambs just old? (68,589) by Sheila from United States
Has anyone noticed in the last 5 months Mariah has gained 3 million Instagram followers she is growing at a rapid rate? I think people want to see the trainwreck. Stella is a reality tv producer - she is bascially making a mess of Mariah's personal life, then giving fans full access to Mariah in Vegas, and having her "young" children make Mariah's Instagram popping. Maybe some of you [censored] lambs are just [censored], [censored], and [censored] and negative? Maybe there is a masterplan.

Another chart success / stability (68,588) by Malcolm from Asia
As much as I want her to have at least one another hit, the sad truth is it seems unlikely to happen. You can only imagine how thirsty a millennial fan to see Mariah shine on charts once more. #Beautiful was her only single that I really witnessed to climb on BB100 and its music video was her only video I really witnessed that is pretty decent and well made. I can't deny it, I want to experience what you guys had felt when Mariah had her glory days so [censored] bad. But I know in reality that there's so much things to be done and to conquer for her to have another 2005 moment (ageism, top-notch management that is willing to rebuild a 46 y/o artist's career etc.). Having said that, my ultimate wish for her is to just have a stable life and mind, smart decisions for her kids' future, raw live performances, albums that will represents a pure body of work, and a career that doesn't shouts validation from people but instead enjoying what's left on her legendary status. I just want to feel that she is secured and she is a strong independent mature woman. If she will embodies all of this, it's enough to say that she "slays". And hey, I will still watch Mariah's World, I would't miss it for the world. I miss so many moments from her career already just to deprive myself on watching it. I know there will be a lot of "yikes" moment but heck it's Mariah, I still want to know what goes behind the scenes. Maybe I will get disappointed about it, but I will just move on and wait for the release of her new music.

Re: Holiday game (68,571) (68,587) by Manny from U.S.
I would like to try her pecan or "pecon" pie. Actually it's my favorite pie. There's a clip of her spreading whipped cream on one. She is talking to Kristofer her make up artist. She asks him how you pronounce pecan. I like how they interact. She makes him laugh. I would post it but I'm not sure how you get link from the YouTube app. Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Let's reflect on what truly matters this holiday season.

Haha I went away for a day and come back to so much drama, freaking love this board. Gearing up for the Access Hollywood interview where she supposedly addresses her "break up" and new "hook up". Quotation marks for both since I don't buy either. Plus I'm sure the responses won't be straight forward just a "dahlin' it's bleak, it's bleaK". Then we also have Ellen and the first show in Hawaii. 3 things in 1 day. Festive day for the lambs. Happy Thanksgiving to you dahlin' and everyone else on the board.

In light of Kanye (68,585) by RibbonB from USA
Here is an old clip of Dave Chappelle discussing himself, Mariah and others. "Maybe the environment is sick?" I am sure the pursuit of fame and trying to maintain it can be draining.

Kim became famous by being spotted with Paris Hilton and releasing her own sextape which then led to the reality show. Kanye is an egomaniac.

Hasn't she said she makes her father's clam sauce or something? Can't she just be festive and bring the champagne and flutes?

Re: Mariah's popularity will never recover (68,577) (68,582) by Marissa from USA
I think TMB was her last #1 too. My "she's still got it in her" instinct doesn't really exist anymore. I'm not necessarily "counting her out" as much as I am trying to come to terms with reality. She doesn't seem to care much anymore. I definitely hope I am proven wrong but I probably won't be. Also, thank you for pointing out that the TEOM comeback is not a scenario that can be easily recreated. She was in a different stage in life then. She was single, had no children, hadn't hit 40 yet and hadn't truly solidified herself as a legend yet either. There was literally nothing else for her to do other than eat, drink and shop had she not decided to give her all to her music. Now she has children, is almost 50 and believes her own hype. The only thing that motivates Mariah to kick it into high gear in any area of her life is when her ego gets bruised. After the press started writing her off as a has-been, she suddenly developed her motivation to make TEOM. After the media dragged her for her AIWFCIY performance in 2014, she started caring about her voice again. After she was characterized as the eternally lonely and miserable ex-wife in the media, she started showing off her relationship with James Packer. The only thing that will get Mariah to actively try for another #1 hit is if someone dethrones her or if someone gets 17 #1s. Overall I'm fine if she doesn't get another #1 again, but I at least want her to give her best effort when she does put something out and that won't happen until she gets dragged by the media again or someone is running neck-and-neck with her. Give your all or don't do it.

Re: Jojo's new album (68,543) (68,581) by Matty from Vancouver Canada
i would love if MC's new album had the vide of JoJo's new album, Mad Love. I love Jojo's new album, I have it on constant replay. F*** Apologies, FAB, Honest, I Can Only, Vibe, High Heels, Mad Love. It's very R&B but fresh AF and has great dance elements. Just a correction though, the only reason Jojo released all those mix tapes is because she's been in battles with her former label for years trying to reclaim ownership rights of her voice. Her record label legally owned her voice and she wasn't allowed to legally release any proper albums because of the contracts that were signed when she was 12 years old (a very similar situation to what Ke$ha went through at the start of her career). That's the only reason Jojo hasn't been on the music scene in a major way for years, and why she focused more on her acting. She was absolutely taken advantage of by the music industry, FAB is a tribute to that. "I been down in the trenches, you should know but you don't pay attention." Everyone should give Jojo's Mad Love album a listen from start to finish. It's gold.

She always talks about her linguini and clam sauce, but I don't like that, so I would take her pecan pie, which she has also claimed she makes well.

Thankful (68,579) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
This message board has been total chaos as of late. Even though I may not like everything MC does I am thankful she is still here to share herself with us. To be honest she has already made her mark in pop history, she can easily call it day and retire and be fine for a few lifetimes. So rather than bash her for everything we should be grateful she still among us while we have her. That does not mean you have to like everything she does or wears but we should try and appreciate the being herself while we still can. Just food for thought.

Mariah's popularity will never recover (68,577) by Martyn from England, UK
I know a lot of fans say "never count Mariah out, she had a comeback in 2005 when her career had previously been in the toilet", but if we think about it properly, that wasn't too long after her previous few top 10 hits. "Touch My Body" aside, it's now been 10 years since her chart positions went into dramatic decline, and since then we've had a personality transplant, an aesthetic that has become bizarre and often embarrassing and a string of music that's completely out of touch. Don't get me wrong, I think MIAM was her most solid album (for the fans, at least) since the turn of the millennium, but I also think it's time to accept she'll never achieve chart success again. It's a shame because R&B is back on the rise, but instead of working with fresh producers, it looks like Mariah is back in the studio with Dupri. I doubt we'll get a new album for at least another few years, and when we do, it'll be another case of lacklustre promotion and early abandonment. Tie that in with bizarre interviews, shoddy live performances and publicity stunts like the recent Bryan Tanaka mess and what do we have? Career oblivion. I long for the Mariah who gave insightful interviews about her music, was confident in herself as a performer and connected properly with the public, but she's dead and gone. The only reason I'm still following her career is for the music, and I've learned to stop caring about chart positions. I just hope her next album is as strong as her last, because if it's not, I may jump ship along with the other 80% of her fanbase that seem to have done the same lately.
