Have those days of love really gone? (70,423) by Edward from USA
I think that for such a long time we've been left with anything from Mariah but music to talk about, everything is basically about her being a diva, her rich lifestyle, a thousand products she comes with here and there, but great music like she's got us used to has definitely moved to the background. Having the occasional good song ("Help Me Make It", "Almost Home", "My Love", "Right to Dream", etc) was always inspiring and kept us focused on her artistry. She has recorded so many songs she could release a couple of those in between albums, but sadly we get nada, at least nothing with near the quality of the aforementioned songs. I know we're living in different times where celebrities' lives are exposed for everybody to see, but after a while it takes always some of the excitement of not knowing what comes next, especially from an artist like Mariah. Mariah has always been to me about her great music, deep lyrics, and exceptional delivery. The fact that she was or at least appeared to be "Make It Happen" humble gave her credibility, not that she was just looking for the next catchy or hit song. Never had I imagined that, as an artist of her caliber, things were going to be more about her personal life than her music. I just hope she takes good care of herself, since some of the greatest have left us too song, George Michael was just 53, Whitney was just 48, Michael Jackson was just 50. When I say I miss 1990-2005, I say it because I miss the artist that she was, her eagerness to craft a great song, her ability to dig deep and inspire us with her lyrics. I know she's a mother and stuff, I understand she doesn't have the time to release an album annually, but I expect her to deliver a great product when she does release something, even if it's a single song or collabo. I'll be patiently here waiting for her next music project.

Yes, thanks that is the picture. It was from 2009 at the Vevo launch party.

Butterfly was Mariah's overall beauty peak. I mean don't get me wrong, she still remains one of the most beautiful and gorgeous woman alive, but there was something about 1997 (whether it was her newfound freedom and confidence or something else, I don't know) but she was so ethereally beautiful, it was almost too good to handle. She was sensual and sexy without it being too harsh and in your face. Her make up and that amazing honey blonde-brown hair. She somehow managed to look sexy, innocent and classy all at the same time.

That's a good question. Hmmm. Then, of course, he could be being paid with free publicity and trips.

Re: Baby (70,406) (70,419) by Lila from United States
I think 2008 - February 2014 was the best. She looked good 90' - 96' but I wouldn't say her fashion was anything to brag about. 97' and 98' had some misses but weren't too bad. 99' - 2006, overall, a no for me. 2007 she was trying to make a way. 2008 she got it. By Mariah standards it was like a miracle had occurred and it looked like she was keeping it up. 2009 and 2010, she was a little heavier than 2008 but she didn't take solace in stuffing herself into too small clothing. 2011 we didn't really see her much as she'd had the twins but when we did see her what we got was good. 2012 and 2013 (minus the Black Girls Rock event and the Nigeria and Angola performances) were amazing. All of these years she had good outfits, there were only a few misses in my book. She was happy, confident, radiant, wasn't pushing her breasts in our face. The rest of 2014 was a no for me. 2015 and 2016 were okay. There were some good moments but you could see that her fashion was dipping and she was transitioning back to too much cleavage and unflattering fashions. On top of it, we had to contend with her face having some WTF moments. Of course, late 2016 has just been aw hell. I have no hope for 2017.

I loved Mariah's look during E=MC2 as well. I just saw a picture of her and Rihanna, both wearing black, during that era and she looked like her slightly older sister. So fresh and the both had honey gold colored hair. They were at some event together and I have never seen Mariah look better than in that particular photo. I gotta see if I can find it, but the story is probably here on MCA if you search Rihanna and Mariah's name.

Lol I know. At least JLo and Drake can make a hit song together and go dutch on dinner. All kidding aside, I wonder what she thinks of this "Miss I don't know her" and Drizzy stunting for NYE.

Re: Leave Mariah alone (70,413) (70,416) by MusicfanJ from Germany
It's dangerous and unhealthy if someone can't be alone for some time. Especially if the people you hang around are like poison and have no interest in truth and doesn't care about "you". My wish for 2017 is that Mariah takes the time and leaves the nightmare behind. She would become a new butterfly.

Best era style-wise:
1. Butterfly (sexy and sensual)
2. Daydream (classic and cool)
3. E=MC2 (just beautiful and stylish)
5. Emotions (pure and classic)
6. Rainbow (a fun style, love the dresses)
5. Music Box (innocent and a sweet look)

Mariah's impact (70,414) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Am I wrong or was the fan from this sneak peak of MW on this board a while back? Anyways the scene got me emotional and I can relate (not to the English learning thing because we learn it here either ways) because Mariah's music is just powerful it really speaks to your soul and helps you in many ways. I'm sure all of us here can relate. Things like these make me love her even more. She is just so talented not only vocally but as a writer and an artist, this is why I get a little annoyed when I see what her image has become now because I respect her artistry so much I feel some of her recent moves have cheapened her image somewhat. She was such a mysterious, brilliant artist. The talent is still there undoubtedly and I just pray her team gets more professional. Honestly Mariah is one of the last living legends, she should be presented as the music royalty that she is, not a reality show newbie, and not the over exposed (both clothes wise and her being seen everywhere nowadays) persona. I hope to see more fan interactions in MW, people should see how this woman has touched the lives of so many people around the world, even places she has never been to.

Re: Leave Mariah alone (70,409) (70,413) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Mariah seems to enjoy the dysfunctional mess that the Bulochnikovs bring with them. Stella will never demand holidays or days off because (a) that means she'll have to pay her way through those days and miss out on Mariah's lifestyle (b) why would she need a day off or take time off for holidays when she is always bringing her whole entire family (extended family and friends, yes friends as well) to these elaborate vacations with Mariah on Mariah's dime. I don't understand why Mariah would allow her to bring all these people. I get the fear of being alone may drive Mariah to surround herself with people but really she is never alone because she has her kids and her real family as in Patricia and Shawn. Why not take some time off and hang out with just them? Of course that poses the potential threat of Mariah realizing she doesn't need the Bulochnikovs to be happy and Crustella will not be down with that.

Re: Leave Mariah alone (70,377) (70,409) by Licia from USA
I would love for Stella and company to let Mariah have some space for a [...] just to re-evaluate some things, but it won't happen because Mariah seems to be quite happy with what's happening at the moment. Stella and company would have to mess up something big before Mariah will start paying attention and want to distance herself from them.

Can we add that to the list of send to Stella. Rachel Zoe needs to be hired asap. Who did her looks for the E=MC2? What era does everyone think was her best era style wise?

Re: I'm leaving MCA behind in 2016... shake it off (70,388) (70,405) by 123 from USA
Preach Special K but the negativity here is just bait for others to fall for and provide an emotional response. And everyone (me included) keep falling for it and it's just taken over. Yes there is a lot wrong in "Mariah's World" but any flaw is magnified just to troll. At this point I would say follow my lead and like Mariah pretend it doesn't exist.

What's up Ty? I don't think we sung this one though, but I won't reveal what it was lol. It's been bleak around here so I post rarely. When are you coming back to the City? You should come in March. I'll hit you up. Hope you are well.

Re: Why not wearing them? They're cute (70,397) (70,403) by Marissa from USA
"Ignorant ass?" You're reaching. If I was truly ignorant I would have jumped on the bandwagon about this Mariah-fur situation all the while planning what red or white meat I'm going to eat for dinner like I'm sure many of the people who are angry at her are going to do. It actually takes critical thinking to point out the many ways that most people on this earth are complicit in either the suffering or exploitation of animals instead of just acting like not wearing fur qualifies someone to be canonized into sainthood. Hell, most people can't even afford a real fur coat so it's not much of a protest if you having one isn't even an option to begin with. I would kindly ask the real vegans to stand up, because a lot of them would drag many lambs for only being part-time dedicated to the cause of animal rights, but justifying other things. In fact, why doesn't everyone who doesn't like fur being on MC's website (which she probably has no awareness of) share what they have had for breakfast, lunch and dinner over the past 5 days? I'm sure there's a carcass digesting in most of the people who are mad. This whole scenario reminds me of religious people who will be ready to burn down a city upon finding out that someone is gay, but will overlook their own "white lies", lust and fornication. I'm not trying to turn this into a PETA forum and am done with this topic, but as critical as I've been of MC in the past, I didn't feel like the level of these criticisms were even fair considering that most people don't even live up to the cause of animal rights that they're preaching about.

Fur begs the question (70,402) by Norman from USA
Why is it always pitchforks and torches around here? It's always guilty until proven innocent. And even then you need 100 forensic evidence. It's an obsession to snatch anger from the jaws of happiness.
