But who said it was Nick's board though? Certainly not me. I'm not the one bringing him up either, nor am I am implying that you should bring him up whenever he does something. My sole point is when he is brought up on here (by whoever) you (and a few others) always run to his defense and try to justify his wrongs with retorts about Mariah. Yes Mariah is a mess for flirting with her backup dancer while engaged to James. I can admit that, but you can't admit that Nick is a mess for impregnating a women he doesn't want to be with or the name dropping he's done, or that he more than like does "sleep with employees" (the Wildin Out Girls) etc. Since the divorce some of you have expressed so much contempt and resentment towards Mariah as if Nick did nothing wrong and was a perfect angel. The way he's defended maybe you should start a Nick board. Anyway my point still stands, fairly hold people accountable for their actions. That's it. No more dead horses beaten.

From what I've seen of the pics of her at this event, she left that horrid "engagement" ring at home. Let's hope we'll get repeat performances of that.

I remember that. I watched the HSN segments lol and much of it was cute. I was just thinking a bigger venture and maybe something more high end this time around, and something long term (then again she could've kept designing stuff for HSN too). She wants money to be coming in so she needs to have assets that are going to make that money. So many avenues to travel, that would garner her good press, before going the reality tv route.

Now if they really want drama in Mariah's World they should put Nicki on her show for the Idol showdown. She is supposed to have a show coming out also produced by Stellar and crew. Isn't it strange that we hear nothing about that show. I think Nigel telegraphed months ago that they might do something. Here is the article where Nigel referenced Nicki.

"Portrait of a Lonely Songbird... On the Yacht of Broken Dreams", BIll, I just can't with you. Is it bad that I actually want her to go about the more happy route with music now and release more up-tempo songs that people can have a good time to? Don't get me wrong, I'm completely here for signature Mariah ballads but her last album was kinda like a break up album so I want the next to be more of a return of the confident, independent, fun loving woman. A blend of TEOM and E=MC2. To balance out the sorrow and joy. Either that, or go straight up "Butterfly".

She has a special blend of skin care products as far as I remember. She said someday she'll sell it. I too think it's fine for her to have side projects but stuff that are closer to who she is like Lila pointed out with the make up, lingerie and jewellery line. She can maybe also team up with a well known shoe company and have a shoe line out. I know she had one for HSN, but I'm talking about hi-fashion house brand names.

I don't mind a breakup album, but it needs to be a real breakup album. Previously, breakup (caps) songs (end caps) have appeared on albums that have a heavy sprinkling of crowd pleasing pop (Heartbreaker/Petals, Honey/Butterfly etc.) for balance. A real breakup album is, I think, most affective if it is stripped down to the bare bones. No one would expect MC to put out a complete acoustic affair or a mellow jazz outing but, provided her image is toned down to match the record, it will make more of an impact that the usual R&B formula she's been churning out now for years. Drop the souped up vocals and do an intimate album without the polished sheen. It may not generate a radio hit but it will likely be a hit amongst fans and critics alike. But more than likely we'll get "Portrait of a Lonely Songbird... On the Yacht of Broken Dreams".

Why Mariah is the way she is (68,516)
by JAXGH from United States
| |
|
|
In the beginning, Mariah was truly humble. And I feel she's the same to this day. I've listened to her 1999 The Lost interview, and the 2002, 60 minute interview, even her 2005 to 2008 interviews, there's always that bubbly, jokester Mariah. I think that her ways of showing how wealthy she is, is a defense mechanism honestly. Tommy probably shoved it down her throat, "you wouldn't own a dime, if it weren't for me". Now she keeps proving that she's rich, without him. Tommy made her career but also took it away from her. The media never left Mariah ever since 1997. When she released Glitter which Tommy has always been against her doing movies, also the very first time she released an album, not from Sony. That 80 million dollar deal was a slap to Tommy's face. Sadly it backfired to Mariah. Tommy put up a fight. He was determined to ruin her career. Glitter being a Sony picture release, he found a way to get a hold of the music and gave it to someone else. He pulled a string once again, before you know it the press is having the time of their lives, sabotaging Mariah. They always got away with it and to this day, they haven't stopped. Mariah was so under pressure, that there's no words you can even use to imagine the sh*t she was in, her career was on the line, the stress of the movie, having done the most expensive music contract of all time (people expecting it to be a hit), Tommy wanting her to fail, trying to prove herself as an independent artist, the sabotage, the exhaustion, the break up with Luis Miguel, that she literally almost freaking died. It was only then that it hit Tommy's conscience. Mariah could have been dead. That's [censored] up. It's a miracle she made it out alive from Tommy's revenge. And reading all these comments really makes me sad, this is the woman who literally put her life on the line for her fans, giving her heart and soul through the most intimate, personal, vulnerable way, her music. She's given us so much. Everything could've stopped at 2001. You guys realize that right? Mariah was so damn close to an untimely death. But the Lord favors her and has always been for her. I'm at the point where I am content. Charmbracelet, Emancipation, E=MC2, Memoirs and MIAM have been enormous blessings and I'm just thankful. If she wants to be girly, flirty, sexy, eat whatever, do a movie, do a tv show, do whatever type of record she wants, I don't mind. This is the girl that was forced to break up with her boyfriend at 18, wasn't allowed to collaborate with who she wanted, wasn't free to do the music she's really into, was forced to dress like someone who wasn't her in the first place, had her calls tracked down, was forced to sing a certain way, was obligated to work day and night, someone who didn't even truly experience the success of their prime (that now she forever longs for) and is still slandered and sabotaged heavily to this very day. You know I still wonder how things would have turned out if she chose Warner. Mariah was stifled on the most important period of her life (her prime), still suffers from her boss' wrath. If whatever she does make her happy, just let her be. At least she's living and making up for the life she missed. She did us proud with her music for 26 years, more than enough. Her legacy will always speak for itself. And I'm [censored] proud to be a fan, of one of the strongest, most talented, free-spirited, hard-working artist of all time. Miss Mariah Carey.

Only just read your post in full. Your observations and opinions are sound about there being historical evidence as to her strange personality, the ego and vanity. During Make It Happen at Proctor's Theatre in 1993, Mariah bends over to kiss a little girl. You very briefly see her look up to see if the camera is on her. It made me think when I first saw it that the whole thing was staged, and that Mariah was more interested in making sure she got the shot than making a kid happy. Another example from VHS: "You really hit the big time now, Carrie" from Around The World was totally patronising and bitchy. I once wrote some posts theorising that perhaps Tommy, Walter and the team were trying to control Mariah because she had a wacko personality (that eventually came out, ruined her career and sent her into a breakdown) that was going to derail her career. It may be right, it may not be. But I think Mariah has just become more and more of herself to the point of being totally unlikeable. I am not saying Tommy was totally innocent, but I can't trust Mariah's relation of the story as she will rewrite anything for her own benefit, e.g., "of course I have to thank Tommy Mottola - particularly at the beginning of my career" is a quote from 1999 if I'm correct. She'd only just [censored] him off. He was responsible for almost every part of it until just before she said that (e.g. he arranged for and paid ODB a lot of money). It would have been like Celine Dion not crediting Rene Angelil - absurd. Like others, I like her music (well, most of it). I want to like her. But she's just so [censored] vulgar most of the time that I can't see any redeeming qualities and I'm looking hard enough. I predicted a major downfall not so long ago, and, well, this is the beginning of the end right here, isn't it?

Lila, you are forgetting about her Pave jewels on HSN. Some of her stuff was actually cute then. Didn't she say she had a special blend of hair care stuff she uses? It is probably so specific to her hair that it might not be universal enough for the general public though.

Lol, and the thing is Stellar and her crew want people talking about it and will likely do more and more desperate things to get people talking or buzzing more and more. We have seen it as we are getting close to the air date. I am just hoping she has a scandal free trip and concert to Hawaii, but my lamb sense tells me Stellar and team intend to ratchet up the ratchet through the air date. But anyway, I dusted off E=MC2 last night. TMB and Cruise Control still knock.

Like I said, this isn't a Nick board, so I'm not trying to bring him up or his indiscretions, but I will discuss him if others bring him up. And he isn't keeping himself in the blogs daily like Mariah and her team seem to be with their reality show promotion. But if you want to go in about his dates, etc. etc. feel free, the point is he has moved on and so has Mariah. The discussions about Mariah are about her being engaged to one man, but acting like she is dating another man who works for her. Trust me, the rest of the world who watches Mariah's World will be talking about it too and that is what her team seems to want.

Mariah would be not want a body double because she'd feel threatened haha, sorry don't kill me. But the woman basically said "Why would I have girls up on stage with me?" But jokes aside the reason she looks so different in the meet and greet and concerts because she wears much more harsh make up because of the stage lights and production and picks the ugliest wigs. So that's why she looks less like herself, but while when she's out and about, she goes for much natural makeup and her real hair so she looks quite different. She had this harsh makeup streak earlier this year because she was filming the reality show and with all the lights and all she went for harsh makeup that's why during the candids during that time her face and hair looked quite harsh but in the promos they look more normal.

Mariah's clone (68,506)
by Danny from Uk

This is gonna sound so out there but does Mariah have a body/face double? Looking at recent photos like the awkward Mexico meet and greet and compare that to the one last night dressed in camouflage. Sometimes she looks almost like it's a stand in then other times she looks herself. It's odd. I mean she's always beautiful to me but I wouldn't even know what her real hair is anymore. Sometimes I wonder if it's the same person.

I see where Andrew's coming from with this. There is no doubt Mariah can write one hell of a breakup album, but the problem is that her image has been so trashed in the past few years for the public to actually pay attention to her detailing her relationship problems. She is becoming less and less of a believable source for this information and this type of material right now. If Mariah comes out with a fun, upbeat party album, it will still be criticized for being too detached from reality, and that's fine. Her relationship with her kids aside, that's how she is right now anyway - out of touch and soon out of time if she doesn't get her crap together stat.

This is exactly the kind of behavior that reinforces the burgeoning notion that she can't sing anymore. Also the kind of behavior, sadly, that defines Mariah Carey these days. Now it's all just smoke and mirrors. And boobs. And tacky antics and questionable clothing choices. And even more boobs. When you're one of the world's biggest music stars and people can only talk about your music by referencing your past glories and almost none of your recent offerings, that only goes to show how far you've fallen, or at least how out-of-touch you have been. But when you're the same Mariah Carey who miraculously pulled off possibly the most impressive comeback for a female artist in music history, people know better than to write you off so quickly. That is, not unless you let them. Come back, Mariah, I know you're still in there somewhere.

Yep I was referring to your post and you are totally glossing over Nick's mess. If you're gonna point out Mariah's imperfections and get her together on here, then don't go easy on Nick's. It truly shows the bias you and a couple other lambs on here have towards him. I don't care what year it is. Having children out of wedlock with no intention of being a family unit with the mother will always be a bad look. I root for Nick as a father and for him and MC to continue to be great co parents and friends; so definitely not a Nick hater or blame him for everything that's wrong in MC's life. Just saying he needs to be held just as accountable for his screw ups as well. Instead I see him always being defended for his poor actions while MC is constantly catching all types of hell. Be fair.

Second of all bye bye to the [censored] saying the ain't watching Mariah's World, like we need [...] (btw it looks so good, much better than I ever expected or hoped for), Mariah has got so much great buzz from all over the world and non fans. So many of my friends who don't even love Mariah at all, have watched the trailer and said they are actually excited. I for sure know I will [...] support her, not just when she has her [...]. Third is I'm so sick of hearing complaints of that Mariah ain't who she used to be, If I quote her (they never know the real me). I'm so happy for Mariah to actually live her life to the fullest. Sometimes I do wonder if Tommy Motolla (hehe probably wrote it wrong) has made several accounts here just to hate. I have been going over twitter for the last month, people are really excited for all of her upcoming projects and not just the fans. Women and girls all over the world are writing about MAC and how they want every [...]. I'm happy that Mariah is focusing on so many other things than music. Although I do hope and almost sure we will have that next year, hopefully with some good promo (that seems to be the only thing lacking) but seeing how she really is stepping up for the promo, gives me hope for [...] planned promo for the music too. Anyways I'm not gonna write a book here (although I could), I will be checking for this site as usual but I will actually start putting you on your places too. Ps: [...] say [...] want the best for our girl Mariah but write about the positive things (like how hard she is working, it's been a few years seeing Mariah taking so many projects at one time and actually promoting it), but no I just wanna tear her apart.
