Re: Cruise Control (68,978) (68,984)

You're right Daren (thank you for focusing on the good things, btw). This album may not be my favourite, but all the songs are very radio friendly. Cruise Control might be too close to Shake It Off in terms of style but I don't know. Love the song. should've been a single along with Migrate and Love Story.

I think I'm the only fan who didn't get the whole Migrate hype (kind of like The Roof hype). It's not a bad song. I just never got into it. Cruise Control is a song I'm just now falling in love with. When the album was released I was too stuck on Love Story, For the Record, Last Kiss (my favorite), Thanx for Nothing, and I Wish You Well to give Cruise Control a fair shot.

Positivity (68,982)

On to more positive news, last I checked AIWFCIY has already surpassed its peak of #13 on iTunes in 2015 and is now at #12. Will probably be going higher soon. So that's great. Maybe we'll get a new peak on the Hot 100, fingers crossed for Top 5, although personally I think they should just make it an honorary #1. Secondly, the clip with Shawn and Mariah was cute. I like that she talked about the past, which we fans know but the GP tuning in might not know and may help them understand her a bit better. Also loved the Bianca clip. Hope to see more of her there. The other clip with Big Jim was nice too. Love that she was making up a song on spot. That's the side of her I want people to see. So I'm hoping that the main teaser was misleading and they have good content in the show and not over the top drama, although with all the stunts I'm a little nervous.

This may sound like I'm overreacting but in a recent article she they wrote something like "the E Star" when talking about Mariah, like you know how they write/say "the E star said this". I cringed just a little because usually when referencing her it's always "the Vision of Love hit maker" or the "WBT hit maker". As I write this, I realize this might come across as a little dramatic on my part, but it is what it is. I'm going to keep hoping that when all this is over, we get what the fans really want and that's a solid album. Nothing depressing though.

I love E=MC2 and every song on that album was single material. Not just single material, it was hit material too. If only the project wasn't abandoned mid way.

Article: Mariah Carey talks growing up with "nothing" (68,979)
by IfWeeeeee from Over There

It's hilarious how she tries to show off her riches by wearing every piece of jewelry she owns at the same time. She's really rubbing me the wrong way now. She's become this over-bloated personality and I no longer can stand her. Mariah, I know we're all just wasting internet bandwidth and electricity with our words, because you don't listen to anyone who disagrees with you, but you need to get over yourself and get over your really cheap stunts - they're beyond gross now.

Cruise Control (68,978)

Can't nobody can't nobody tell me that this song ain't a number one. E=MC2 is my least favorite album out of all Mariah albums but the hit potential of the songs in this album is unreal. We've established that Migrate is her 19th number one that got away but I feel that Cruise Control is also one of those songs.

The One has hit potential, it's a shame that they didn't release it as a single. But I think Boy is really catchy and the melody is super easy to remember, it's a cute song.

I agree with both your comments. CB is a cd I only listen to the ballads, but it's my fave tour because she looked incredible and sang. Right now she's working so hard because she's over it. She won't stop sipping so she lips here and there. When I met her two months ago again, she seemed happy and looked so thin not sure what happened.

Remember when she used to be compared to Whitney? Feels like a long time ago. Nowadays, she's being compared to a Kardashian. Oh how the mighty have fallen. I would watch Mariah's old interview clips from the 90s and she looked and sounded so down to earth and she was all about the music. Nowadays, she's all about the "image", "lighting", "angles", "daahhhling" - that down-to-earth woman has turned into a high-maintenance, constantly rambling and cheap version of herself. What a waste.

You are right. What she does is her business, but when you pull attention seeking stunts and broadcasts these stunts for the whole world to see you kind of make it everybody else's business. Furthermore Mariah is too old to be "acting out" and I doubt this behavior comes from a break up with a man I honestly don't feel she really cared about. She wants attention and she's getting it whether it be good or bad.

Charm-girl, I mean Licia (68,969)
by Edward from USA

Charmbracelet is one of those albums that I don't think about much, but when I play it, I really enjoy it. I love "I Only Wanted" and the way Mariah fast-sing on "Clown", it's pure art. Her voice sounds like a soup you're sipping on slowly so it won't ever end. Charmbracelet is one of those albums that the older it gets, the better it sounds everytime I revisit it. Licia, after losing all your hair ending up looking like Kevin Hart, you're entitled to request the webmaster to censor any post talking bad about Charmbracelet. Only I could talk bad about, since I'm the one giving the idea, so when I don't like any of your post, I could torture you with a Charmbracelet rant. Charmbracelet is one of those albums that the older it gets, the better everytime I revisit it.

Tell me a bad dream, ok? / What's going on with MC? (68,968)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|
|
I usually don't comment on MC's choices with her personal life. But she has totally lost focus this time. It seems like she is trying to make James Packer jealous. Somebody pinch me and wake me up from this bad dream and nightmare. I can't believe what is happening right now before my eyes. She makes herself seem like she never loved James Packer. Where is her time to heal from a broken engagement? She is making herself seem like a gold digger who was only going to marry James Packer for his money. She should really be focusing on her career and raising Roc and Roe. And what she sees in Bryan Tanaka is anybody's guess right now. This kid needs a reality check. He thinks he deserves MC. He has it all wrong. This year is not ending well at all. I pray that she gets it together soon like yesterday. Mimi sure has been emancipated and Mariah Carey who use to have class, style and dignity is lost somewhere back in 1995 with the Daydream era. I can't even know what to say. I am going to the gym now to burn off some steam.

She's over it (68,963)
by Matthew from USA
| |
|

Mariah doesn't want to work anymore, but she wants to maintain her diva lifestyle and fame. It takes work to maintain a voice. It takes work to promote a project or album. It takes work to stay in shape. But she's over it, so she lip-syncs, does minimal promotion, and uses Photoshop instead. This has been going on for a while now. Benny Medina had several things planned, but they fell through. Randy Jackson and Chris Lighty also made plans, but to no avail. Jermaine Dupri took the helm, but soon realized there's not much you can do when the artist you are managing is over it. By the time Dupri bowed out, there was a world famous recording artist with no one willing to step in and manager her until Stella came along. She promised Mariah she would be able to make a ton of money without having to work. Mariah hired her on the spot. So it started with a clothing line, a make-up line, a line of flavored water, 1 mil for a 1 time gig for a dictator, another million to lip-sync in Jamaica, but Stella knew that the best way to make money by doing nothing is reality television. All you have to do is be yourself, with a little fabricated drama thrown in. Hopefully it's amusing or scandalous enough for a second season. I don't think Nick or James were down, but Bryan is, so that's where we are at. But don't worry, I think we will still get the occasional album, Britney Spears style, so she can also get a check from the die hard lambs. There might even be a hit or two left, if she feels like promoting.

What the hell is happening with her lol? She seems to not care right now of the way she looks and is acting. Back in 2013 she was looking amazing and was so on track to be number one again, but now she just doesn't seem to be bothered.

Unknown variable (68,959)
by Nikki from usa

I'm still waiting for it. I was about to post how I've been collecting pics of MC for 20 years and never has she ever worn diamonds to the beach. I was going to point out that there was a lot of posing and the lack of chemistry made these 2 look like siblings having fun at the beach. But, now we see there was at least 1 photographer there, although, I wouldn't assume that was it. This is some form of photo shoot or publicity which is obvious at this point. Due to how this was done and how this goes against Mariah's usual in so many ways across the board, I think there's more to the story than just fake publicity shots. They're in Hawaii where Tanaka is from. I wonder if he has something coming out of his own. This could be publicity for the place where they're staying, some kind of catalog thing for the island, or for what she's wearing. I could be wrong, but I don't believe this photo shoot is for Mariah's World, I think it's for something else.
