About Mara from United States: I'm a Mariah fan since the debut. Been through her entire career with her and may not always agree with every single thing she does, But i will always come to her defense when she gets attacked for being misunderstood. I am not a blind fan and relate Mariah to a sister who I would tell in a minute if something seems wrong or something of that nature. I come to this board to discuss her with people who I feel are true fans and yes, some don't always praise her to the heavens every single moment but we all are here for the same reason and we do adore her.

Change (56,480) by Mara from United States Mimi L I could not agree more. A change would be good. Soften up her hair color. I would love to see it darker or even auburn again like the Daydream era or even the Butterfly color. I don't want to get attacked by the masses here, but we all love her and want to see her look her best. I don't know if anyone has seen the shoes she has been wearing lately but they are these massive chunky black open toe platform type shoes with a chunky heal. They look very uncomfortable and don't seem to go with the dresses she has been wearing. She doesn't even have to lose the weight if she just dresses with more flattering clothes. I thought back and I don't want to come off judgemental. Mariah is such a beautiful woman and always was. I always wanted to be her and her hair was part of the reason I would never get a short bob. Lol. I always wanted to model my looks after her. But even when I color my hair and use bleach products in it, after so long I give it a break, go dark or just tone it down and give it some time to get healthy. I think sometimes too blonde or coloring for so long can be too harsh on one's hair. Plus for my own selfish reasons I would just love to see her a brunette or wear a daring shade of red even. And as far as MC's shoes, we all know she always loved those sexy Mary Jane style shoes so this particular shoe is not a surprise. It just looked a little uncomfortable and a tad chunky. Not really what I have seen on people right now. But she can wear what she wants. I didn't want to come off judging, just want to see her in things that compliment her. Her fashion sense in the twins is on point I must say. She dresses them kids they way kids should be dressed. Very classy and stylish at the same time. Wow-performance (56,450) by Mara from United States Wow, someone posted this on Twitter and if it was anyone in here I say thank you. I remember this concert and waiting for Mariah's performance to air. Seeing it again now I really appreciate it even more. Mariah killed this performance. She was not stiff or afraid to move and she ran across the stage with so much energy. She was fierce. I miss this Mariah. I love the glitz and glamour especially for some of the big ballads, but we need this Mariah back on stage every now and then too. (Thursday 3 September 2015; 23:25)

Also, am I crazy or shoes anyone else remember Maxwell insinuating he recorded some new music with MC back around December? I love him, so I could have imagined it but I do swear I remember something like that. I really would love that, I actually would love any unreleased music from MC's catalog to be honest. I love her new stuff, but I have to be honest, anything that was unreleased would really satisfy my thirst for the MC music I miss right now. (Saturday 29 August 2015; 3:35)

Manager / Stella (56,341) by Mara from United States So Mariah is in Italy now and on JP's boat and Stella is there with her daughter's again. Now I get that she represents Mariah, but does that mean she has to be with her at every moment? And I mean no ill will with this, I am just finding it a little strange that even when MC is on a boat or in every country that she stops in, Stella and her daughters are right there with her. I would be sick of my own sister if she was there all the time. JP must be a very tolerant guy to have them all tag along with him and his new girlfriend every place they go. Maybe MC doesn't want to be alone yet? Maybe I'm reading too much into it. Lol I just know if I was nonstop with my own sister and mom who I do everything with, I would probably want to escape. Trust is very important to MC and we all know when she puts that wall up its hard for it to come down. But of course it was just something I read online and you can't always trust what you read. Vocals (55,452) by Mara from United States First on the topic of one Mariah song, that is just too hard. But something about the song Til The End Of Time from the first day I heard it has always put me in a trance like state. Sounds crazy but that song just is hauntingly beautiful. The whole Emotions album is my favorite but that song is just amazing. But I also just want to say can we mention The Vocals lately? Mariah has been sounding amazing and I am pleased to say she sounds back to fine form. From what she went through with the tabloids and the tree lighting ceremony and other appearances and lipcyncing and what not. She is officially back and showing them all. Notice there is never any press if she kills it, only if it's negative. But her press has been positive from the people going to her shows. She has her confidence back and I love it. I love when she does because she is not afraid of going there with her notes. You can see and hear from the videos posted how she is taking risks with her voice again and she is hitting the notes. Mariah Carey is the best living vocalist today and she is still proving that in Las Vegas. She was going through a lot of personal issues in her marriage and maybe that played a role in her vocals, but now she sounds better than she has sounded in over 10 years. I said the first time the photos of her and James came out that seeing her with him almost gave me the same feeling as when she was photographed with Luis. She looks happy. I love the fact that she is with someone her age and successful and there is just an air about them together. She looks classy and yes like a grown sexy woman. Personal life (55,109) by Mara from United States Yes, I was going to post something similar. Not sure what is going on with the whole Packer thing. I really do hope it's not for publicity and she is just having fun. I know there were reports that Packer is opening a casino in Vegas soon. I just hope he didn't decide to be "seen" with Mariah in between her Vegas shows to get his name out there now that she will back performing there. I also hope MC is not along for the ride and in on it for whatever reasons either. We have to think no. But I was going to post yesterday about the crazy posts Nick has been putting up lately. Seems like ever since Mariah was seen with JP. I don't know what happened with MC and NC and I don't want to speculate that everything he posts is Mariah related but it sure can be looked at that way. Not sure what he is insinuating with all of these or if he is upset she has moved on. All I know is if he did do her wrong and she is seeing all that he is posting, she has to get a little chuckle out of this now. ***off singing Someday. Loving this ride she is taking us on (54,884) by Mara from United States I'm sorry but I have to say I am loving this right now. Mariah and James are like the new "It couple". It may be for publicity but I for one am loving that she is this popular desirable couple that the world is going crazy over. The press wasn't that obsessed with her and Nick. There is something opuliant about the whole yacht and luxury and her beautiful looks she has been modeling. Whether it is staged or not, the press is eating it up and it's nice to see her in a positive light as opposed to vocal issues and record sales or whatever. I see her slimming down in front of our eyes and no that is not what is important but we have to admit she is looking smoking hot. I love love love the hair. Mariah, keep that look. Let's just say she is having some fun before her July shows start back up and she is living it up in luxury. Obviously someone in her camp is releasing these statements and pictures to the press. I mean who travels with their make up and hair stylist? Only Mariah. (Thursday 25 June 2015; 7:18)

Mariah and James (54,795) by Mara from United States I don't know what is really going on as far as them as a couple, but I have to say Mariah looks very happy. I think seeing the pictures of her and James walking in Capri that they both really compliment each other. Is he the most handsome guy in the world? No. But as was said before, they both are close in age, have enough money on their own, been divorced twice and have small children. Seeing all these photos of the two of them together on the yacht and walking in Capri are giving me the Mariah/Luis vibe. No not looks wise but Mariah liked that Luis was famous in his own right and you could see that when the two of them were in public. James is very wealthy and a known businessman and is followed by the Australian press as well as others. I sense she always liked that. Maybe the kids are just having fun and she saves any affection for when they are not around. From what I have seen she has Stella and her two daughters there with her and I saw a picture of Kristopher B as well. His kids were with them too yesterday, so who knows? I'm sure MC is not being "lovey dovey" in front of them just yet. Can I also say I adore the curly hair with the volume on top. Very Divas Live. Always loved her hair like that. Is there an artist that you'd like to collaborate with whom you haven't worked with yet? "I want to collaborate with me 'cause I've done so many collaborations that after a certain point unless you're really working with a certain caliber of an artist, there's no point to collaborate. It just becomes, 'Oh, let's throw these two people together', and that's what I feel is wrong with some of the collaborations that happen today and, dare I say, I helped paved the way for some of these little collaborations that happened today." Morgan (54,160) by Mara from United States I read the quotes supposedly from him and as a fan that feels more like a long lost sister of MC, I am concerned. I know everyone says it's a tabloid and what not, but what if, just what if he went all the other routes and got absolutely no place reaching his sister. I know it's wrong but maybe it is tough love? I don't know, maybe not. But we do know she likes her splashes, they even make their presence in the new video. Maybe it's all nothing, I like a splash or two myself and I can't imagine if I lived in the public eye and it was documented every time I did indulge. But I do agree that it is time for Mariah to do a serious tell all type of interview with either Oprah or Diane or bring Barbara back for it. I feel it is imperative for her to do this at this stage. The public has so many misconceptions on Mariah Carey and only know and perceive her as a looney demanding over the top diva. I hate that people don't get that she plays it up, but I feel she needs to remove the gloves, show the world another side and do some damage control. Sometimes even though we don't want, we have to go where we don't want to, if that makes any sense. She is a public figure and people are making assumptions of their own and now her children come into play. I hope if she does not do a tell all interview, that the rumors about a behind the scenes documentary are true at least, and show her in a different light. People need to see another side to Mariah. MC's a very deep soul who most of the time hides behind this diva act. I wish people knew the other side we all know as her closest fans. Even with the behind the scenes rants and whatnot on her #1's she makes them mostly about her image and looks while filmed, instead of the song and the impact it made or the process of writing it. I guess that is the reason for the rants or whatever. I just feel as fans of her, we want to protect her legacy and her as a person. Does anyone know if Patricia has been to Vegas at all? It seems like while Mariah was with Nick, she was closer to his mom than her own. I feel there is a lot about Mariah she keeps very private and rightfully so, but as fans we can be concerned. Born to sing (53,785) by Mara from United States Just watching some of those videos of Mariah singing TGIFY and the improv of It's Like That, just reminds me of how this young lady was born to sing and what a gift she was given. Literally she was gifted this voice. She can sing anything with a piano and it mesmerizes people. That is truly a gift. There is no one alive that can do that, no disrespect to some of the greats, but she has so much tone, so much richness. She hypnotized just by opening her mouth. She is at her best when she improvises with a piano. I unfortunately cannot make her Vegas shows in July, but hope she mixes up her songs at the Beacon this December. She is truly amazing. We are lucky to be blessed with a talent like MC. The Taylor Swifts of today do not hold a candle to the young legend that is Mariah Carey. (Wednesday 27 May 2015; 4:45)

Negativity (53,080) by Mara from United States Ok so I've read through all the comments on all the websites, twitter, facebook and especially here. Most are praising Mariah for a fantastic opening night. All the review headlines read "She hit all the high notes." The GP see this as she is redeeming herself from the past year. Real fans that have followed Mariah know her Chantuse shows improved the further into them she got and her Christmas shows at the Beacon were pristine. I was there to hear for myself. Now I am a fan that agrees everyone has a right to their own opinion, but people come on. This is Vegas and as Mimi L stated before, everything should be on point in Vegas and therefore lipping is necessary, especially due to the frequency of shows and especially an artist of Mariah's calibur and catalog. It's not like she sings Katy Perry type songs and just stands there. M's catalog is beyond acrobatic and add in there 25 years later and it's silly to think there will not be lipping. Mariah Carey is a vocalist yes, but she is also Mariah Carey The Entertainer. And I for one am just happy to watch that live in front of my eyes. I am totally ok with backing tracks if I can see that living talent in the flesh. I don't know, am I alone here. I am never a negative lamb, but maybe some lambs are just never happy or satisfied? Can't we be happy she didn't just decide to walk away, raise her children and live on an island somewhere never to be heard of again? She certainly is more than capable to do that if she pleases. B / Honey part II (52,564) by Mara from United States I think you are exactly right. Didn't we see somewhere that Mariah was going to do some impressive stunts or be put in "dangerous" positions? Maybe her and Brett waited for her to arrive in Vegas to film because she may be using some of Vegas as her backdrop. I thought someone mentioned a helicopter and wasn't a helicopter used in Honey? I think that theme goes with the song lyrics and would be a bit therapeutic for her to use almost as an ending to "that chapter" of her life as well. Cannot wait for this video now. As far as the song, knowing she wrote it specifically for this residency makes more sense. Even the way the music stops at the ending and the way it begins back up with the violins. It is a show ending song. She knows what she is doing. I wish her luck and will pray her opening night, she kills it. She needs her fans to support her right now. But back to the video, they really need to release it yesterday to keep the momentum going. (Wednesday 29 April 2015; 19:14)

Infinity (52,358) by Mara from United States So I purchased the song late last night and had to put earbuds in to turn it up for first listen. Initial thoughts were, this is not what I expected and was different. I immediatly loved the violins but then I just couldn't understand what she was singing, there was a lot of production and it seemed to drown her voice out a bit not to mention how incredibly fast she sang. What seemed like the second verse was a bit clearer and you could hear her voice much better. Then we got to that note with dream, it sounded a little cut off but I think it fits. On to that amazing Music Box sound and the last note and the way it reintroduces the violins and I was hooked. All in all, I think with an amazing empowering video to go with this song, it will do well. I listened on repeat and did my test after I dropped my daughter off at school, made sure to turn it up in my car and it had that feel good sound. I really like it a lot now. I think it will get airplay and the controversy around the song especially since Mariah has kept so quiet on her marriage will help. The message is good too with the "loving me more and more" line. I hope Mariah makes another song someday without the fad lyrics, but for this one it works. (Monday 27 April 2015; 15:32)

I wonder if us on the east coast will have to wait until 9:30pm to hear the song and see the video. Everything has been under wraps so do we really know if the song will debut before her welcoming in Vegas? Maybe it will all unveil as part of the welcome and if that's the case, it is due to start around 6:30pm which means 9:30 for me. The anticipation is killing me. On to the debut album, it is such a classic. Her vocals on those songs were amazing. I too love Alone In Love. Someday always holds a special place to me too. Although VOL was her first hit, I think ultimately Someday turned Mariah into something else on the visual scale. I remember being in high school and all the guys were in love with Mariah and her beautiful eyes. Her image was set and very iconic in that video. I can't wait to hear her sing that and IDWC. I was somewhat disappointed at first, almost being selfish wanting those demos of something out of our Miss Mariah, but thought about it and realized this is almost brilliant. Imagine if Infinaty goes to #1? That is brilliant. I hope it does. I hope it is a killer song, a song for the summer to get us out of the winter blues (east coast anyway) and pump us up for this Vegas residency and yes, new era. The buzz is already different than the MIAM buildup. I forget who said it, but someone said we should be happy we are out of that era. It was a mess. This feels fresh and I am putting my faith in LA Reid. Those demos may still see the light of day as a fan gift. Maybe that is wishful thinking, but I do believe good things are to come. I think MC was holding on to this song knowing it would be what she needed for the general public, and how the MIAM album was more for the fans and a chronicle of the end of her marriage. Again, how amazing would it be if there were 18 #1's and then Infinity and it going to #1? (Tuesday 14 April 2015; 4:21)
