About Special K from USA: Been ridin with Mariah since VOL. I have seen Mariah in concert numerous times and was blessed to have actually met her.

Lionel and Mariah (69,857) by Special K from USA
Funny, I just saw Maxwell and Mary J Blige in concert. I'm still on a natural high. Lionel and Mariah is a little random for me. I can see Mariah and Joe or even John Legend going on tour together. On the other hand hopefully Lionel can school Mariah and mentor her a little bit. I prefer some new music though.

MW (69,856) by Special K from USA
Watched both esposodes for the first time. I was pleasantly disappointed, lol. I mean, it's definitely not the catastrophic disaster that some folks predicted or may have even wanted. On the other hand, while I was watching it, I found myself getting bored and uninterested. Mariah is way too guarded and calculating to showcase uninhibited random moments of her true self. I must say though that scene with Tanaka, you can tell in Mariah's eyes she was feeling him then. No need for me to go in on Stella, y'all got that and if anyone is thirsty it's MaryAnne. A 6 year old child has no business being on a tour bus with grown ass men. Side bar: I've had friends who are non Mariah fans have way more positive things to say and actually like the show. Maybe we lambs/fans are too harsh? Not, lol. Maybe the next espisodes will be better.

Girl you and me both. I'm sitting here pouting, mean mugging my husband and my kids, lol. I'm too done knowing I missed R. Kelly and Mariah.

Re: Piers Morgan tells Mariah to grow up (69,015) (69,032) by Special K from USA
The 12 hour wait really bothers me to the core. It's so disrespectful and rude. Mariah clearly doesn't respect or see the value in other people's time because she really feels it's all about her. Sounds like an egotistical bitch to me. I'm really surprised Sharon Osborne didn't tell her ass off. Another thing that stands out for me is that Mariah didn't want to sing live. Really Mariah? Lazy ass. So not only is Mariah 12 hours late, she does a half ass performance lip synching to a prerecorded track. Now that is damn right ridiculous. With that being said, I'm a little cautious to take everything this dude is saying as the gospel truth.

Re: R. Kelly (68,768) (68,771) by Special K from USA
I love R Kelly. He is still dropping hits and selling albums. I agree his catalog is crazy. I thought R did a good job jumping on Betcha and TMB. I hope he and Mariah work together again. R. Kelly, pure musical genius in my opinion. Man, I'm going to go listen to Chocolate Factory right now, lol.

Re: Will Mariah's popularity recover or are Lambs just old? (68,589) (68,643) by Special K from USA
Fans never get too old. If the music is good and that artist is still relatable (or has a strong connection to their fanbase), fans of any age will continue to support an artist. R. Kelly, Janet Jackson, Barbra Streisand, hell even Charlie Wilson drop albums and they hit #1 or at least go top 3. Those artists are still successful because throughout their careers they have managed to maintain their loyal fan base while still attracting new and casual fans. Mariah has straight lost her what I call "old school" fans who have been with her since VOL. Casual fans and the public in general view her as a has been, washed up, aging diva who can't sing no more. Mariah's image is bottom line to the curb destroyed. Her image is so shot out she could release a great album tomorrow and no one would buy it because folks wouldn't give a shit. If Mariah had a good manager, they would get a camera and ask random people on the street a simple question, "What do think of Mariah Carey?" That manager would sit Mariah's ass down and make her watch that shit. Then maybe, just maybe, Mariah will bust out of her fake ass "dahling" clueless bubble and start taking her career more seriously. I fear Mariah believes that if she has a successful reality tv show, then folks will start to pay attention to her music. What works for T.I may not work for her. I'm still looking forward to MW's world though.

She can pull it off "live" if she takes it seriously. There is a part of me that agrees with you though.

Re: Nick (68,472) (68,479) by Special K from USA
Hmm, I don't know if It's a fact that Mariah was obsessing over Em but it' s definitely a fact that he obsessed over her for years. I will say I do believe that Mariah was feeling Em for a brief moment while she was with Luis but like Em even said himself, "She just stopped calling." So, maybe Mariah stopped calling because she found out Em is truly a "slim shady" if you know what I mean, lol. Even in his song The Warning Em kind of elludes to that. Anyways I wish Nick the best. Babies are truly a blessing.

She is glowing. Maybe this "breakup" with James is exactly what she needed. Yes, I see the VOL connection.

Re: Why you trying so damn hard? (66,941) (66,949) by Special K from USA
Exactly. If there are fans that love a song and there are others that don't, at the end of the day it's all good cause at least somebody like it, right? I say don't let no one steal your joy. I absolutely love You're Mine (Eternal), however that song doesn't get alot love on this board. Do you think I care?

I haven't heard the song yet. I'll wait to see Mariah and Jussie perfom it on Empire.

Re: M.'s nephew tweets (65,892) by Special K from USA
Morgan Carey is dead wrong on so many levels for going to the press bad mouthing Mariah. If this was really truly about helping Alison, then Morgan would be the big brother that he is, step up to the plate and do whatever he has got to do to help his sister. Whatever it is Mariah is supposedly not doing shouldn't effect what he can do for Alison. Going to the press blasting Mariah isn't going to help Alison and his sorry ass knows that. Morgan's sole purpose for going to the press was to get paid and hurt Mariah. He really should be ashamed of himself. No grown self respecting man would do that to his baby sister. Obviously Mariah cut him off financially 6 years ago after they had their falling out. Morgan stated himself that Mariah has given Alison thousands of dollars throughout the years. Mariah's people reported that each time Alison went into rehab, Mariah paid the bill. Like Ribbon said, perhaps this time around Mariah has set conditions. All this talk about family helping family. Please. Family can be your own worst enemy. Throw your ass to the wolves and watch you get eaten up alive then at wanna fall out at your funeral. Please.

Re: The voice dilemma (65,615) by Special K from USA
Hmm, I've seen Mariah twice in Vegas and I'm telling you she was singing live and her voice sounded really good. To me she can sing her 90's songs with more ease than her recent hits. That girl sang LTT and I about died. Call me crazy but to me Mariah is singing in a lower key and yes, she can still hit them high notes. I swear during LTT she hit a note that literally rang in my damn ear. Mariah's issues are consistency, not being able to hold notes as long as she used to, and lip synching way too damn much during these tv performances because she is either lazy or too focused on how she looks. She doesn't appear to take the live tv performances seriously. During her Essence Festival performance there were times when her voice cracked, she couldn't hold certain notes and looked at the background singers for vocal support but that's okay though. I wish Mariah felt the same way.

TMB is a good one (65,463) by Special K from USA
I don't think there is anything wrong with music artists making love to their own music. Usher and Tank admit to making love to their own songs. With that said, I dont't see how anyone can bang to Hero. No way someone is hitting that right playing that song, lol. Mariah's catalog hardly has an extensive range in baby making music however I would suggest TMB as a foreplay teaser though.

My goodness (65,095) by Special K from USA
I'm not making excuses for Mariah because I get the frustration but at the end of the day she is a freaking human being just like me and you. I don't think Mariah is in a good place emotionally. I believe this divorce from Nick is effecting her way more than we know. In my opinion she jumped into a relationship with this dude way to soon and she is hoping that he will heal her heart which he won't. Mariah just seems lost, angry, and bitter to me. I don't think she means to hurt or let her fans down in any way. I believe she is giving all she can give at this point which is the Vegas gig and touring. For me that's more enough because she has given us so much of herself and great music throughout the past 26 years. I just want Mariah to be okay and be the best mother that she can be. I agree with Deedre, I don't think having a successful album is a priority for her right now. I don't think Mariah is interested in playing the music business game either. So at the end of the day y'all need to take several seats and quit all of this over the top ridiculous whinning. Damn. Just kidding. Maybe.

Essence Festival performance (64,012) by Special K from USA
Mariah killed it. She really put on a show. Words can't express the euphoric high I'm on right now. Now I've seen Mariah in concert plenty of times. I must say this concert is close to be being the best. I mean she really put on a show. Cool to see JD and Da'Brat. I thought Missy was gonna pop up from underneath the stage, lol. Man Mariah was the iceing on the cake honey. She connected with the audience and didn't have alot of "diva" antics. She was more like a "humble" diva, lol. Highlights for me was well basically everything along with watching my mom and loud ass aunties sing VOL, Make It Happen, and WBT, lol.

Nick you sign them papers yet? (63,626) by Special K from USA
You know Nick really gets on my damn nerves sometimes. I wish he would shut the hell up. He was the one that filed for divorce and couldn't wait to let the whole world know that he and Mariah weren't living together. Now he is freaking whinning because TMZ has basically put him on blast for holding up the divorce. If he won't sign because of custody issues (which I don't believe) then he need to damn say so. He quick to jump on twitter and comment on everything else. My personal opinion is that he is shocked beyond belief that Mariah moved on so quickly. He always talking about how he and Mariah are so damn happy. Yeah okay Nick. Divorce is not Disneyland and I have yet to hear Mariah say that things are peaches and cream between those two. Great to see Mariah consistently take the high road and not comment about that situation. Her silence speaks volumes to me.

Automatic kill joy (62,508) by Special K from USA
When Mariah announced she was doing the Vegas gig many fans and critics alike said it would be "horrible", a "train wreck", and it was beneath her. Well that turned out to be not true. Now with Mariah's World we are basically hearing the same things. It's unfortunate that expectation for a new Mariah Carey project whether it be a tour, a new album, or a docuseries is anticipated to have a negative outcome. I'm actually looking forward to it because Mariah can be so funny and witty. I think it would be cool to see that side of her more.

Marissa (54,640) by Special K from USA
Hi Marissa. I agree with you to a certain degree but my intent was not to compare Mariah to younger artists. I just feel that none of these younger artists, and mean none can even [...] with Mariah vocally when she is being the best that she can be. Straight up, here in the 2015 when Mariah is having a great vocal performance she can still blow the majority of these younger artists out of the water. They could not hang. I saw Mariah in Vegas and she killed it. I saw her in New York for the Christmas concert and she slayed it vocally. I get she had bronchitis recently but overall basically since TEOM Mariah's live performances have been too inconsistent and forgettable. She need to step up her game. I believe Adele, Beyonce, and Kelly Clarkson will still sound great in their 40's as long as they continue to take care of their voices. Bottom line, despite her age, when Mariah is on point, there is no comparison. That's how much I believe in her talent.
