About Mara from United States: I'm a Mariah fan since the debut. Been through her entire career with her and may not always agree with every single thing she does, But i will always come to her defense when she gets attacked for being misunderstood. I am not a blind fan and relate Mariah to a sister who I would tell in a minute if something seems wrong or something of that nature. I come to this board to discuss her with people who I feel are true fans and yes, some don't always praise her to the heavens every single moment but we all are here for the same reason and we do adore her.

The O Holy Night video (48,540) by Mara from United States When I watched that video I actually saw a bit of the Make It Happen video MC on stage. Call me crazy but the way her hair looked from that distance, parted on the side (and her color looks great too by the way) looks like it did in the MIH video minus the bangs. The way she moved, and her hand movements. Like stepping back in time. She looks so young. Even her speaking voice was so soft there. I think her look is great and matches the mood of classy, old Hollywood and I love the diamonds and finger waves in the hair. She looked radiant. (Tuesday 16 December 2014; 16:22)

Another AIWFCIY article in NY Post (48,522) by Mara from United States Did anyone catch this article? Seems very pro Tommy. Of course it was an interview with WA. Nobody knows the real story behind whatever went on with Walter and Mariah and I don't want to start a whole thing again about him, but since it is MC related. It seems like some shade was thrown with this, in reference to how MC never wanted to record a Christmas album and how she made a comment on looking like Connie Francis. Some of these US fans already know, but I don't know, maybe I'm reading too much into it? His interview timing is great with her shows starting tonight. Welcome back RJJ12 (48,472) by Mara from United States It's good to see you on her again. Your insight has been missed. On a side note I had to share some MC news with you guys. When the tickets for the NYC shows went on sale I was online for both presales and got nothing. I have mentioned my birthday is Christmas Eve and my husband knows what a real fan I have always been that he went on Stubhub and got us tickets. Well, when I saw what he paid and the actual row we were in (W), I didnt want to sound ungrateful and I was just happy to be there so I would never say a thing to him. To make a long story short, our tickets came today along with a note saying they gave us a complimentary upgrade to a lower row. I was beyond thrilled. We are now in row D lower orch. So if anyone else is there, that's where we'll be along with my 7 year old daughter who is a huge lamb and Roc & Roe fan. So excited for these shows and hope she has a few surprises on store. I only hope she isn't over doing it. Just had to share that with fellow true fans. (Friday 12 December 2014; 4:02)

Mariah re-old Hollywood glamour (48,412) by Mara from United States I found a picture of Mariah from one of the holidays and I think this look looks great on her. Imagine her going the Jazz way and having this I hate to say almost Glamour pin up girl way, but done classy. The flower in the hair completes it with finger waves. This look really fits her. Loved her hair in the ISB video by the way. I always wanted to see her with that rich reddish burgundy hair color too-just once. (Monday 8 December 2014; 20:09)

Nikki / Baby (48,263) by Mara from United States I am not a delusional lamb and I agree with everything you said. Anthony, I agree with you too. I am going to the December 20th show too and am so excited to see this woman again but at such a special time. I think her performance was fine. What do people want? She can never seem to catch a break. What do people think after over 20 years of using something it will sound the same? And I am sorry, take any artist and remove the music and backup singers especially when they can't hear themselves and tell me what you hear? That goes for Beyonce and all the other "can do no wrong artists". I am sick of how MC is treated in the press. She is a living legend and the fact is she has nothing left to prove. The fact that she is gracing the tree lighting stage with a modern absolute classic is a gift. God forbid something ever happened, all these AP sites would be the first to claim she was a living legend and how she paved the way for all to follow. Add that in the fact that her private life is in shambles and yes that does affect her voice. Last years Washington performance didn't sound half as good as this years. I am sick of the witch hunt people have on MC. Who would leak a performance of just her voice? Who is out to get her? Hmmmm. I will always have Mariah's back and no I am not delusional. Can we just say how beautiful MC looked by the way? Her body has curves in all the right places. And who says you have to be a stick to be beautiful? For having twins she looks amazing. I am just so proud she went out there live and sounded as good as she did. I would like to see half the people behind computers do what she did live on national TV in the cold and hitting notes you did 20 years ago and sound like you did in your early 20's. NBC is lucky she performed the #1 Christmas song on their special. No matter what any of you say, she is a living legend and is a class act. I do believe nerves played a part as well. The longer she performed The Elusive Chantuse tour the more comfortable she became and sounded great. Whatever transpired the night before obviously had her upset and the timing was a little too perfect for her to have missed the chance to cover any flaws by a pretaped performance. I know there were some legal issues with TM and that is why Faith Hill recorded the song. Too bad it couldn't somehow leak online or she couldn't perform it at one of her Christmas shows. Ty (47,785) by Mara from United States Ty, I hope to God she does Miss You Most. I adore that song so much. That and of course her version of Oh Holy Night would be amazing. And Christmas Time is in the air with a stunning white dress like the tree lighting performance. Or wouldn't it be nice if she changed it up and did Nat King Cole's the Christmas Song or Last Christmas by Wham or some other classic she has yet to do. After all it is a Christmas concert. Maybe even bring Patricia out for a live duet since it's NYC. Oh my, can you tell I'm excited? I'm loving that we got tickets today and we don't have to wait that long for the show either. NYC show (47,728) by Mara from United States My 6 year old daughter loves Mariah's twins and is hoping Roc and Roe make an appearance on stage for the Christmas shows if they are really happening. Lol. It's funny she is only 6 yet all she says is how cute Monroe is and what a cute voice Roc has. Lol. Like she is so much older than them. They are little celebrities in their own right and it must be such a special bonus for people at her shows that get to see these two miracles. (Saturday 1 November 2014; 4:28)

My birthday is Christmas Eve and always have a special ace for everything all Christmas. This would be the best birthday gift. I would love to introduce my daughter to a Mariah show this way too. We were going to go to a Radio City Christmas show and I was in the process of looking for tickets, but hey who better to get you in the Christmas mood than the absolute queen of Christmas herself? Feels like we are watching a rebirth (47,662) by Mara from United States I don't know about you guys, but these performances from China on just keep getting better. Mariah's voice in Singapore and the last show are mind blowing. She not only sounds amazing, but her confidence is beaming through. I think it is amazing to see unfold through each show. She is just going for it. I don't know if after those first shows with the media attacks if she went on some kind of work up for her vocals or she is no longer afraid to attempts the notes due to I almost hate to say this, but how much more could they have attacked her after those Japan shows so she just went for it. In any case she is using her voice and it is obviously working and making it stronger. Like anything that hasn't been used a lot over a matter of time, it takes time to warm up. I love how much fun she seems to be having on stage now, the way she is changing up some songs, especially that vocal she does before Thirsty. Mariah we need U.S. dates. Scott from the US (47,341) by Mara from United States That is exactly what I thought after the third concert. What if she did have the surgery and this is what the result is? What if this is the last tour she is going to do before she has an interview and does tell the world what is going on? What if she wanted to get one more in there, hence the extensive stops? Well, we only can speculate. I do think she needs prayers right now. I saw the clip of Petals and Rainbow Interlude and what they saw, mimed or not was a raw, vulnerable Mariah. I saw MC on the Charmbracelet, Adventures of Mimi twice and once Angels Advocate and they were all more happy settings. The Elusive Chanteuse Tour has more of a sadness about it. More so even than Butterfly, as she was freeing herself from an unhappy marriage she felt a prisoner of. This time it feels different and you can see her breaking down on stage at different points in song. When she sings the Billie Holiday song she has that sadness all too real. She is a woman in pain on stage with this sadness and these reviews can't be helping. So I say pray for our Mariah to weather the storm. (Friday 10 October 2014; 19:39)

RockyRoc (47,268) by Mara from United States Not sure if that message was meant towards me or not, but either way I just wanted to clarify after reading my post again that I did not intend for my message to sound like Mariah's reason to tour was she needed the money. What I meant in that post and many others recently that I posted, was she may feel she needs to tour and be surrounded by her fans for personal reasons as I quote myself from a past message "therapeutic reasons" she may feel this is where she needs to be with all that is going on around her life right now. Nowhere did "I" personally say she was doing it for financial reasons. MC is fine in that department. If it came across that way it never was my intention. Previous post (47,263) by Mara from United States I just want to make clear I was just frustrated with what I saw before, and wanted to come here for some true fan support. For all that MC has done for us, gotten us all through at some point in our life. I know most of us say she was and is the soundtrack to our life. I can't think of anything in my life prior to 1990 that I can't relate to a Mariah song. When she calls the attention or bad press to herself, yeah I bring up constructive criticism. But this? This attacking somone over and over on a voice crack whatever, but appearance too? That is not justified and just plain mean and cold. So Shelly I hope it did not seem like it was directed at you, just my passion coming through and I thought about what you said and wanted to reach out to you and other real supportive lambs/fans on this board. Post a pic of her from Japan in the black trench coat on twitter to se those out instead of that no flattering pic that's viral on twitter. You can clearly see she has lost a lot of weight. She hasn't looked this good in a long time. She is going through a divorce and women are already knocked in self esteem during this period. She does not need it. That's all. Shelly (47,262) by Mara from United States Shelly, I think you were the one that mentioned you looked at Mariah as almost an older sister at one point. I feel the exact same way and I do too, get very protective of MC like she is family. There are some really meanspirited things on Twitter right now and when I see them I feel very sad for Mariah. We know she goes on Twitter and there is a photo that someone posted and it's gone viral on Twitter and it's when she had more weight on. Now we know we have all been saying how fabulous MC has looked since she started her tour. That was the one thing I had to say was positive that she is not letting this mess get the best of her physically at least. I tried to post a recent pic of MC and say this was now. But if we all did that I would feel like we didn't let them drag her any more down on the mud. She looks good now, the least we can do is let those negative people know that. The comments and comparisons that are posting are beyond hurtful. Why do they feel the need to continuously try and hurt Mariah Carey? Why is it always her? This woman has been through enough, she has two beautiful children she is another to. I am tired of seeing these people, her weight, her voice, her mentality, her diva ways, her clothes. Second night of show (47,257) by Mara from United States I believe this was the opening of the second show. I am not speculating about whether she is singing live or not, if it's lipped she still probably recorded these vocal in the studio for this tour so I think they are still recent vocals. What I did notice is how fierce she came on that stage. She had some life after those reviews and the way she flipped her hair and waved around her dress, you can tell she had it in her. MC is a professional and knows she still has a job to do. I love that look on her too. Very honey like. She knows what the people are saying and I give her credit for all she is doing. Whatever the reason she is touring, if it's a contract obligation or she felt she needed it with her personal life, whatever. She is up there for all of them to judge. Just yesterday the tabloids were showing pictures of her husband's basically erasing her name off his back and purposely going out without a shirt knowing the world will see. That has to hurt her. She is not a robot and is a human being and still has children with this man so unfortunately cannot totally cut him out of her life. This must not be easy. She needs her fan base to support her now, not bring her down. Constructive criticism is just that, constructive. Not hurtful and mean. (Tuesday 7 October 2014; 16:19)

Jazz (47,119) by Mara from United States Mariah please do a jazz album. I have said this in many posts here, that her voice is perfect for jazz. That performance of Billie Holiday was incredible. Jazz is just effortless to her, and suits her voice even now 25 years of singing. I think she needs to be given a little slack, she is going though a life changing public divorce. Her life is pulled through the media daily and she obviously feels she can do the tour and it probably is therapeutic to her at the same time. Can we just take a minute and say, she looks amazing right now. She has lost weight and you can see it in her arms and how her face looks. She is so beautiful. I can't believe how the minute she hits the stage and notes are off, the claws come out and the media and people are quick to crucify her. It could have been an off night. I agree that as she goes on she will sound better. Whoever mentioned the Tina Fey Amy P skit was brilliant. That would have been a nice highlight on the tour. (Sunday 5 October 2014; 4:49)

Tabloids (46,761) by Mara from United States Well the tabloids are at it again. Why does it seem every gossip story that is out there is favorable to Nick? They are all over MC and waitng for a breakdown. It is so hurtful to see. It seems like Nick is doing just fine. If he is not, why wear the statement clothing articles? From the "Saved" hat to the most recent jacket with "Freedom" printed across his back. How insensitive can you be? And no it's not for fashion or whatever he should be smart enough to know the media is watching and will make a lot out of the words "saved" and "freedom". Is he trying to hurt Mariah? It seems he only came out defending when "he" was being accused of cheating with a girl who literally has a photoshoot identical to MC's MIAM cover, outfit and even orange clouds and poses. If I recall he defended other people have lives, family and careers? Who does, this girl? He should have defended his wife before. Where is he now? Now that the gossip once again shifted just to MC. Mariah stay strong and you will get through this storm too. We love you. (Friday 12 September 2014; 19:01)

Nick / Thirsty (46,705) by Mara from United States Not to jump on the bandwagon of the Thirsty meaning, but I have to say from first listen Nick. Let's face it, Mariah was married and married women have many ups and downs with their spouse. She probably had many instances where she was very pissed at Nick throughout her marriage. What do you do when you are Mariah Carey? You write some damn good songs. This song was freshly written. Forget those other people that's names came up. It's about her husband. His working and always jetting off on her and the twins probably made her and still makes her feel pretty bitter at times. Look at the line, "you used to be mister all about we, now you're just thirsty for celebrity" all about we, meaning her and the kids perhaps? Then the boss and "G" reference. I recall a few times Nick compared his different outfits to "all gangster". Then the Tom Fords. As far as her kids not finding out their mom has a song about their Dad, well Mariah never has to "kiss and tell". She can always just take the secret with her. Music has always been MC's outlet and she said herself this album was what she has gone through the last 4 years, so. (Wednesday 10 September 2014; 6:28)
