Re: Mariah sales (86,475) (86,480) by Jamie from UK I believe they are doing everything to build up her popularity with the public again, she's been a lot better of late so let's hope it continues. It's been a couple of crazy years for her, especially not controlling her Bipolar very well. I guess it's hard to be yourself with the public when a lot of your biggest hits were at a time when a record company were portraying you as this wholesome persona. She's expressed herself at times over the years probably when she was manic and the public haven't understood her actions. Hopefully now she's more settled and level she'll portray herself in a better light. I love this album it feels modern but quality again to me. Hearing it blasting out at the Mariah Experience in NYC today was amazing. (Saturday 24 November 2018; 23:19)

Re: A lengthy meditation on the album (86,306) (86,309) by Jamie from UK Maybe it's how you perceive her to be? The balladeer wouldn't have lasted past the 90's unfortunately. Often early on in a musicians career especially back then the record company would turn people into who they wanted them to be (George Michael, Whitney to name a couple). Inevitably like every human we evolve and change over time. I personally love this album and vocally it's stronger than MIAM. She's more edgy like on Butterfly. Is it a Music Box? No but that type of music isn't made anymore. Best thing to do is appreciate the journey she's been on, no ones perfect. Artistry comes and goes, who's to say she won't write a huge hit in 10 years time? (Tuesday 20 November 2018; 19:41)

Drugs aside I don't think even Whitney's voice would have been the power house it was at this stage. Voices change, people lip sync at various times it's just the way it is. I'm no singer but I love a good belt out in the car while I'm driving. If I've got a cold or under the weather I notice I'm not as good, but god forbid Mariah was to get a cold at some point in her 28 year career. I mean can you imagine a star not feeling well at points in their career? Wouldn't that be terrible if people actually discovered she was human and suffered the same as the rest of us. I had Musicbox dream (81,259) by Jamie from UK I had a dream last night that Musicbox was rereleased for the 25th anniversary and it had loads of unreleased songs on it. Imagine how cool that would be if it came true. I over heard a guy at the SSFT saying that apparently there's a whole albums worth of songs from between Musicbox and Daydream era. Re: Can't Let Go (80,788) (80,864) by Jamie from UK I love Can't Let Go. Always been my favourite. Mariah herself even said in the original #1's album that she felt this should have been a number 1 song. Plus she sang a snippet at the Adventures of Mimi tour. And gave it some recognition on the Rick Ross track Can't Say No. So I don't think Mariah has forgotten this classic gem. I like that it's not given too much attention as I like how different it is to the rest of her songs at that time and that it's kept a bit more exclusive to fans. (Thursday 8 February 2018; 14:43)
