About Mara from United States: I'm a Mariah fan since the debut. Been through her entire career with her and may not always agree with every single thing she does, But i will always come to her defense when she gets attacked for being misunderstood. I am not a blind fan and relate Mariah to a sister who I would tell in a minute if something seems wrong or something of that nature. I come to this board to discuss her with people who I feel are true fans and yes, some don't always praise her to the heavens every single moment but we all are here for the same reason and we do adore her.

As a day one lamb since VOL, those songs in your posts are some of her all time best. I would have to add Til The End Of Time and Do You Think Of Me to those as well. There are so many, There For Me is another unofficial single that I loved too along with the amazing Fly Like A Bird that really hit home with me.

Billboard cover, May issue (42,872) by Mara from United States
Ok, so we know why MC has been silent. She is on the cover of Billboard looking stunning may I add. It is stating an all digital release for the new album. So no hard copy at all? The simplicity of the Billboard cover is beautiful. This stuff is starting now.

The last part of your post, all I can say in the best Mariah fashion is "yes dahling." I agree 100%, find a new formula and get this one under your belt so to speak.

Funny, I was just sending through the same type of message and saw your response to David right after I sent it through. I 100% believe there is a lot of evil and darkness in this industry. Mariah herself alluded to that during a Larry King interview once as did Chaka Khan during the tragic loss of Whitney. It is a business and a powerful one at that. Look at Lady GaGa. How dark her videos were, her dark strange MTV performances and all her awards, then she broke her hip or something and her latest album was not what her last ones were and she said the record co did not back her at all and were heartless. If you notice all the MTV video awards shows pay homage to the same artists. Mariah was never really included in that bunch. Beyonce, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Nikki Minaj, Lady Gaga, they all seemed to rule those award shows. MC never needed that though. I love how she started true to herself. I hope she never feels the need to go down that path. I don't know how many people agree with me but I do believe the music industry is a tough one to be in. I remember Michael Jackson saying it was evil too. I believe he called Tommy Mottola the devil.

Current artists and industry, davidf (42,831) by Mara from United States
Davidf, you made some good points. I am just glad MC never jumped on that boat. She made her success in a respectful way. Yeah she likes to dress sexy but never in a raunchy way if you know what I mean. Some of the artists out there today, especially most of the ones topping the charts (and the ones our kids are being influenced by) have such a darkness about them, very sexual and the lyrics are just evil. I don't know why the artists today feel the need for such dark evil looking videos either. So you see MC with a glass of champagne, ok but most stories or pics about her are with her family. Even before the kids, she got where she is with songs like Hero, songs that are respectable. She has nothing to be ashamed of when her kids look and listen to her catalog and career. I can honestly say I am proud of that, being a Mariah Carey fan for 24 years. As far as the album, as I said before. I really feel like she is nervous. The pressure she must feel I can't even imagine for this album. The world is watching and waiting for a hit or fail. Every press article states how it's been 4 years. She knows her last 4 singles were not the chart toppers she wanted. I will just be happy with new material on a complete album from start to finish that I can listen to. When she is ready, we will hear it.

Nervous, perhaps (42,771) by Mara from United States
I am beginning to think keeping mum on the whole album could be better promotion than you would think. It is keeping people talking, twitter is on fire with questions about Mariah's new album, questions about a possible push back again, questions to JD, Kristopher Buckle etc. Mariah being so quiet especially. I really hope we're in store for something big. Think about it, no promotion, people talking up until bam it gets released. I don't know, just a thought. On the other hand, if Mariah is totally switching it up and saw that the sound she was going for didn't go over well and has to rework things, then give her the time. We know she is a perfectionist and does not have the same life as when she could spend hours for days in the studio. She has babies now, they are her main priority. I for one would never want to be one of the people that contributed to her having a breakdown due to stressing over this album. When she is ready, we will hear it.

I just wanted to let the other lambs know I did not say anything derogatory about MC or use profanity in any way. I understand the webmaster can do what he wants, it's his site. I just felt it was important to point that out since this is the second time my post has been censored. I don't want people to think I used profanity. I simply was making an observation and again respect the webmaster and he can censor whatever he wishes.

Mariah's face (42,682) by Mara from United States
So for one I feel like this is the calm before the storm. I hope she can put out a great summer sounding strong single and go on Ellen or Jimmy Fallon, something to get the interest there. As far as Mariah's face goes, yes she has always fluctuated with her weight. [censored] I always loved her cheeks., but if anyone remembers when MC did that listening dj event in NYC, there was a pic of her and Nick and she put "we are walking" I hate to say it but that pic looked different. It could have been the angle or whatnot. [censored] We know it's not pregnancy. Not that it matters, as long as she is healthy.

Wow Butterfly (a capella) (41,972) by Mara from United States

Ok fellow lambs, please go and listen to this. I have no idea where it came from but it is just pure heavenly bliss, angelic, heavenly. Honestly, I'm sorry there just is [...] that will [...] compare to Miss Mariah Carey [...]. Sure she may not sound the same as before but come on, she has been using that voice since her teens. She still, either in studio or whatever, has that voice. I don't care if it is [...] of what it was, Mariah's voice was that good. I hope we all agree, I would think so as we are all on here for the same reason. But please listen.

Remixes (41,969) by Mara from United States

I was searching YouTube for something and came across this remix for I Only Wanted. Sounds like different vocals too. I never knew this existed. Does anyone know where it is from or if there are any other unknown remixes? Btw, wasn't Luis Miguel supposed to originally be on the non remix for I Only Wanted, or am I remembering incorrectly? [Webmaster: For more information, see: I only wanted.]

Maxwell? (41,915) by Mara from United States
Has anyone on here heard MC recorded something with Maxwell? He put a few things on twitter sometime in January about it. I would love to hear it if it's true. Also, George Michael is releasing a new live album from one of his concerts on March 17th. I always wanted to hear them two together. GM has recorded with just about every other diva (Aretha, Whitney, Mary J, Beyonce) but MC. Mariah used to love GM long before George accused Tommy and Sony of not promoting GM to focus more on Mariah. I do know that he has no longer held that against MC from an interview. I just always wanted to hear their voices together. But I wonder about this Maxwell duet and if it was already recorded?

Ralphie interview (41,617) by Mara from United States
I just have to say how amazing Mariah looked in that interview. When I saw Ralphie Aversa was interviewing MC I could not believe it. He was a local DJ in the small town I am from. To be given an MC interview, wow, congrats Ralphie. Looked like he was a little nervous, why wouldn't he be with the biggest interview he prob has ever landed. I must say MC looked a little tank back that he didn't know she does not "celebrate birthdays" only anniversaries. Anyhow, on to how amazing she looked and sounded. She brought me back to the Butterfly days with her hair color to her makeup and how she wore the black dresses a lot during that era. Her makeup was sexy and made her look very youthful. She was focused and answered all the questions and just seemed serious about the music. I thought it was a great interview overall.

Jazz album? (41,541) by Mara from United States
I hope everything with MC is ok. I hope she does not decide to have this to be her last album, maybe it is getting confused with the last album with IDJ. But am I alone in wishing Mariah would ever record a jazz album? A while back she popped in a jazz club and sat with the piano player and just did improvised. It was amazing. Something along the lines of Christmas Time Is In The Air Again. The way her voice sounds on that song is so fitting. She has such a great voice for jazz. Mariah and piano is perfection. Add strings is beautiful. Has anyone ever heard her duet with Tony Bennett? The song is called When Do The Bells Ring For Me. That sound plus her glamorous "old Hollywood" look. Imagine MC standing in front of an orchestra with her signature old school mic and her looking old Hollywood. Maybe that is more fitting for her voice now too. Just my opinion. She probably would never do it.

Darryle / Marilyn Monroe (41,506) by Mara from United States
Look up the video for I Still Believe and you can see how glamorous M is. The imitation of MM is all through the video. Mariah looks amazing in that video too by the way. I love her hair like that. Her earrings and the dress. What an amazing video. I would love to see her in that hair color once more. You can also see a reenactment of a Marilyn Monroe movie scene in the Don't Forget About Us video. The pool scene is inspired by a movie scene in "Something's Gotta Give".

YM video / Nikki (41,373) by Mara from United States
Nikki that is an excellent interpretation of the video and I think you are on to something. I can totally see what you are saying. I think the video is visually beautiful. Yeah M is holding herself the entire time, but I have to say I think it is much classier and artistic (those water scenes) than beautiful. When Beautiful came out I think we all were wishing for a 50's back and forth with Mariah and Miguel. That was my wish for a video, with more of a storyline. But YM is very dark and has a mysterious feel to it, part of it reminded me of my favourite Butterfly. Is it a vanity video? Partly yes, but I think it is more fitting in this one. Anyone know why there was no banner advertising YM on iTunes? Is this IDJ not putting up the funds? Think of the downloads she would have had if there was a banner up there during the Valentine's weekend.

Agree with J (41,329) by Mara from United States
J, I agree with everything you said. As far as Mariah not acting "black enough" in the 90's, there are many full black artists that still don't act the way she does so I really don't know what that has to do with it, but it understand what you are saying. I by no means want to come off as nitpicking Mariah. I just hate to see the press more about what she is doing, not wearing, going all ov the place in interviews. Anyone remember Good Morning America? I just would love to hear more about her music for once rather than her antics. That's all.

Not bashing (41,315) by Mara from United States
I don't know why people on here think any constructive criticism is bashing Mariah. This is part of the problem. MC has a lot of people who just agree with her. I am only concerned for her. I have been a fan of Mariah's since 1990 when I was 14. I looked up to her. I know in this day she can't have that same success she had in the 90's, but I would love to see her have respect and not be a joke either. You're Mine is a great song and has the ability to resonate with today's market. It has a great hook. I appreciate that she is showcasing her voice and not whispering. But she just seems uncomfortable in interviews anymore and goes off track when asked questions. She has the legend stature that she could give advice to any other female singers out there. She has nothing to side glance about. She is Mariah freaking Carey, the one they all aim to be like. I will support and love Mariah until I die, I just don't want her recording history to be erased and be remembered more for her attitude.

Bad press (41,253) by Mara from United States
I was so excited for yesterday and was up listening to the radio interviews and online watching reactions all day. I have to say I don't know why Mariah seems to be taking the diva attitude to a complete new level. It's almost like we never get to see her "real" anymore. Like someone mentioned before, it is hard for a true Lamb to watch, imagine a non fan. The splashes since the early am is getting uncomfortable to watch. I don't know any other artists out the diva or not that does that. Also I noticed whenever any other female artist gets brought up, Mariah gets defensive or acts strangly. Why? Mariah you have the longevity you brought up when Ariana Grande's name came up. Why not just smile and say "it's flattering or humbling". Her making comments like that make her look insecure. I noticed more than one article today about the "shade" she threw at the Ariana grande comment. The way she is acting is causing nothing good. Her headlines are more about her alchohol, how she is so "loopy", her unstable marriage to Nick, how she fires nannies and how she shows up dressed to her radio interviews. I love Mariah and always will, but I just wish she would tone it down once in a while so we get another side to her. Again, please understand I feel I can say this by being such a longtime fan. No disrespect at all.
