Mariah's insta story (95,604) by Bill from the UK Okay so Mariah uploaded a clip on her Insta story for Out Here On My Own showing the master tape sleeve. There's a song called "So, it's just the way", which I assume ended up being "Want You", but there are also two redacted tracks. Mariah this is cruel lol. Re: Tokyo Dome concert (95,551) (95,552) by Bill from the UK Far be for me to rain on the parade, but the Tokyo Dome concert is pretty much the album versions of the songs lowered a couple of semitones and lip synced. Without You, Forever, Always Be My Baby, One Sweet Day etc. This is why I would have rather one of the European legs be released on audio instead. But beggars can't be choosers as they say. What bright spark at Sony selected the album versions of Breakdown and Sweetheart when perfectly the good Mo Thugs and Story remixes were available is beyond me. Best introspective song (95,503) by Bill from the UK Since very early on, Mariah has often graced her albums with beautifully poignant, introspective songs. Often sung softly and delicately. The Wind, Looking In, Petals, Sunflowers, Languishing, Camouflage, and Portrait. I'm sure there are others I'm forgetting (finishing the rest of that bottle of wine from my previous post). Have you a favourite? I was listening to Portrait today and the opening really struck me. Where do I go from here? How do I disappear? These lyrics are heartbreaking. For me, I take it to be a reflection on the embarrassment of The Nightmare Era and Mariah's World and Packer and all that nonsense that was going on back then. Imagine being Mariah. Never having any privacy. Having everything you do scrutinised. Your relationships documented in news articles. How do I disappear? She never will. This is what is so upsetting about this song. How interesting (95,494) by Bill from the UK I went back to an article posted in 2013 with the tracklisting of "The Art of Letting Go" (original iteration of Me I Am Mariah). How interesting to see Save the Day as the final track. Tracks 1-4 ended up on MIAM, she's mentioned Hope Street in interviews. I'm dubious about the other tracks listed, especially the duet with Stevie produced by Walter. I doubt that ever happened. Why would you shelve a duet with Stevie (when he contributed harmonica to Make It Look Good)? And no way would she have let Walter near the track to produce it. But it is interesting how much of this rumoured tracklisting ended up being genuine. (Friday 11 September 2020; 15:13)

Harumph (95,491) by Bill from the UK I was a bit perturbed to not be greeted with some Rainbow era EPs this morning. I know Mariah went nuclear this week with the vinyl re-issues, so I guess that was this week's gift for us (well, £500 expense lol). Plus Heartbreaker, Thank God I Found You and Mariah's Theme already have remix singles available to stream (in the UK at least), so I guess it doesn't really matter. But it does.
