MB30 (102,904) by Terna from Nigeria "Music Box" is one of her core albums to me, and the only album to capture the sheer vocal power she possessed back then but for quite a short time. The vocals on it match Whitney Houston in forte, her range seems endless, and her tone most fluid and buttery. This is also the era when she sang songs live better than on the record - case in point "Hero" from Proctor's Theater. One thing I do notice however is that her whistles are weak on this record and not really the focus of her vocals. This was also the first time we got to hear Mariah sing high falsetto on "Dreamlover". (Saturday 17 June 2023; 20:52)

I loved the MC and C&C uptempo collaborations they brought a happy vibe to early Mariah albums, shame it only lasted two. I'd love Mariah to do an upbeat, radio friendly song now. Even if she takes a step back from the music and just inputs on the lyrics. Sometimes it's hard to create magic when you've been writing songs for so long, I'd just love a good solid song/album. But I really like my age most of the time. Experiences are a big treasure. But I miss the 90ies. A special edition of Music Box would be great. MB is one of the best soul-pop albums ever. The BET Award nominations 2023 are finally here (102,862) by Randy from USA When I saw this article I had to go back and watch MC's performance with Latto. It was so sweet to see Latto give props and flowers to MC. The industry is really starting to piss me off between the Grammys and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. No MC can't win everything but give her her flowers. Before they died, I feel like Whitney, Luther, MJ and Prince were given proper tributes and accolades. Now that Celine is sick, does that mean they'll give her a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction and MC will be overlooked yet again? All we have left from our era is MC, Janet and Madonna. At the same time we have to remember that it's all about the perspective. Mariah was insane big in the US and some Asian countries. Celine was extremely popular in Europe and North America. Neither has Celine Dion had bigger hits. Matter of fact Celine was pretty much unknown until the late 90's with Titanic and Mariah had already had One Sweet Day, a feat she repeated again with "We Belong Together" in the 2000's. What is your initial fan story? (102,623) by TJ from Norway I became a fan after watching her debut video in 1990. Vision of Love is still one of my favourite songs. The video brings back so many memories. What I am really sad about is the fact that I didn't realise the reason to buy singles before 1992-93. I love Mariah, I love Madonna and many more, but why don't they make music that mirror their life, and their age. I'm getting older too, and younger artists like Adele feels more my age. Look at the Stones, Elton John, Sting, Bryan Adams. Nobody cares how old they are, for women it should be the same. But it's not. Tina Turner, Gladys Knight and Cher are really the coolest who showed how wrong the media and record companies are. But they are sadly rare indeed. Music should never be about age or anything. That tells me all I need to know about a lot of folks around here. I will ask, which singers at this stage of their career have #1 hits and put out quality albums all the time? Name names. Who is this fictitious model of what a singer at this stage should be doing that folks hold her to? How many have had #1 hits in 4 decades? 3) You say she's focused on more things than just music like that's a bad thing. I sure hope she is, she's building and supporting a family, not spending 24/7 every day putting an album out every year, and has certainly earned the right to explore many different areas of her life and interests. I love her Pop and R&B stuff but c'mon (in Mariah's voice) hoodriah is caviar ratchet. Early this day, I was listening to AA remix album for the first time and I must really say it slaps.
