Las Vegas (106,185) by Tevin from USA I agree, especially when some people on this board were recently complaining about how Taylor Swift is screwing her fans over by releasing multiple vinyls with different songs on them. They need to keep up that same energy with Mariah. I rather spend an extra $100 bucks out of pocket for a couple new songs (I agree it's outrageous, I'm just making a point), then spend thousands of dollars (tickets, plus air fair, plus hotels), to see Mariah press play on tape player and lip sync to new vocals. I know that touring is where money is made, but if she has time to record all of these pre-recorded songs, she has enough time to drop a new album. Especially since her new vocals sound really good and healthy. Or she should do strip down versions of some songs (like the promo clips she posted). I would not even be mad if half of the songs were live and the other half lipped, but come on, no one (especially in this economy) can say that it is reasonable and appropriate to sing for 2 minutes in a 2 hour long show. And I have been voting every day for her to get into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame because I truly believe that she deserves it for everything that she has contributed to the music industry. But I am sorry, as a long time fan (thirty-one years), I am also completely appalled at how much Lip-syncing she did for this Vegas show. Although I didn't like it, when she lip synced just the hard parts of the song, I accepted it for years because at least there were a lot of parts that she did sing live and we had some really nice a cappella moments, etc. But what she is doing now is what Mariah would call "something different". It's very apparent now that she really does not care about her fans. If she did, she would not go on stage and do this. She is literally charging people to see her poorly lip syncing 98% of her show, barely moving, and looking out of it. I don't know how anybody can look at this and even think this is remotely OK. This is a woman who goes on and on about how much her "lambily" means to her, which is obviously BS. If she needs to lip sync to everything to very, very least she could do is move around more and maybe work a little bit more on some choreography, but she doesn't even give a crap enough to do that. Even Britney did that when she was performing under her conservatorship.. I thought when people said she only sang 10% of her Christmas shows last year live that people were exaggerating because she lip synced so much of it. I had no idea that was actually the case as I didn't watch clips from that tour until this weekend. I get that she needs to make money, but she should really try to do it another way because this is damaging to her legacy and a lot of the stuff that the haters say about her "performances" and voice is true. I'm asking this question not for your opinion about if Diddy is guilty or innocent, but I'm curious if the allegations about illegal activity turns out to be true (particularly the traffic allegation), how do you think that would affect some of Mariah's music? I know some people won't even listen to BGK from Memoirs because of RK, but songs like Honey and the remix has Diddy all over it, and those are big popular songs in her discography. Caution and Eternal Sunshine (105,960) by Tevin from USA We will see how she sounds during The Celebration of Mimishows. I'm hoping for 50% live vocals, 25% playback and 25% lipped. Also I hope she throws in some deeper cut songs and acapella versions of songs. I was recently watching the 2018 My All performance she did in Singapore, man oh man, it has to drive her crazy that one night she can be struggling to hit notes, then the next night she can sing and sound close to her 90s voice. Shoot sometimes this happens all in the same night. But anyway no matter what her voice sounds like, I just appreciate that she is still making music and still touring and singing, but I'm not going to lie, those moments (they usually happen once sometimes twice during her shows or tour runs), when her voice sounds like a mature version of the 90's on a song or two (I'm talking about completely live singing), my eyes light up and I'm so happy, you can even see it in her eyes and expression too. Maybe a re-release on the anniversary with a bonus disc of remakes from Mimi? Although, do CD's even sell anymore? I think Mariah should focus on SUD, if it's actually a thing. A new album would not do well in this climate for Mariah. Ariana's Grande album will not debut with big numbers, and she's the biggest streaming artist out there. Mariah never lied or let anyone on (105,916) by T from USA I'm just a fan who reads the signs. That's as much as I can say. It's too bad all the lambs and Ariana fans didn't support the YAR more because it could've really carried Mariah through the summer with a song on the radio and streaming platforms. I listened to Ari's new album and I think it's fantastic. She's incorporating a lot of R&B that's been missing in big pop music as of late. I now know that if Mariah would work with Max Martin for an album it would sound magical. Mariah commented on Ariana's post saying she will be listening to the album the moment it drops. I wonder if her kids are big fans of Ari and are the reason Mariah is more interested in her music? If so it could open the doors to a lot more new producers, sounds and ideas. I would love if Mariah had a new body of work in the vide of Eternal Sunshine. It just sounds so organic and not pushed or over produced. (Friday 8 March 2024; 21:35)

It is for a trailer for Cabrini (I don't know if the movie is any good or not), but anyway, it's cool to see another Mariah song being used to promote a movie. Please re read point #2, no one is holding a gun to her fans heads and making them buy the items. If they don't want the items, great don't buy them, if they do want the items to support Taylor, then cool buy the triple release deluxe version of a reissued album (lol, you get the point). I have adult female friends who are obsessed with Taylor swift, they say they have no problem spending their hard earned money on this stuff. Now when it comes to younger teens or kids who may be influenced to spend money on all this reissued Taylor albums, well if their parents are cool with it, great, but if they aren't, then they should do like my parents did for me when I was young, and told me, no, or find a way to save up to buy something. Basically what I'm saying is, Taylor isn't doing anything wrong. She found a way to continue to leverage her brand. It's just business, and no one is forcing anyone to continue to buy or support her stuff. If anything blame the fans. Shoot how many projects have Mariah done that fans bought in to, for her to then drop it like it never existed, at least Taylor sees her stuff through to fruition. To each heir own but I'm my opinion, it's disgusting that anyone would do that to their fans and take advantage of them like this. I can understand a deluxe version with new tracks but anything more than that is just unnecessary. I'm glad I'm not a fan because I work hard for my money and would not want to spend it like this. Don't even get me started on the recycling of entire albums. I know why she did it but I still don't like it. I don't have a rich mom and dad to pay for my 4 versions of the same album. See the support to Yes, and? Only 20k and lambs alone cannot procure that in the US. What about The Rarities, yeah it's a compilation album but they are new unreleased songs. Controversial (105,797) by Libra Lamb from USA I think her confidence would be much higher and thus likely to release music more often, do more live performances and be in the spotlight a lot more. It's a shame we have to go so long without hearing new music but we'll always have her extensive catalogue and nobody will take that away or forget her. She should be studied in Music School, I believe some already have. The Mariah Carey course has a nice ring to it. She's unique in a lot of ways, always imitated but never duplicated. Controversial (105,791) by Jamie from UK I think it's inevitable that every artist reaches a point where they are no longer mainstream. It's just a natural process, new artists come along and people's focus switches. The thing Mariah has on her side is that she's part of an elite group that are considered the last legacy artists, or real artists. Everything these days is so manufactured and people forget about you easily these days. Fame is short lived and there's no longevity. The likes of Mariah, Celine, Whitney and Janet to name but a few were probably the last divas we will have and it's nice that they are etched in time. I just hope it is either one of their first singles, not just a promo/buzz single. If it gets the proper Cardi B treatment as her first single it will definitely have a video and it'll definitely chart high (opening week at least). If Mariah's voice did not deteriorate (she can still sing by the way), do you think her career tragetory would have been different (from where we are currently at now), or do you think it was inevitable that she would be put in "legacy" status, due to her age, and ageism in the industry? The fact that Mariah ruled the 90s and then had that amazing era in 05-06 (I'd even include 07, because of the TMB hype), was truly a blessing for her. All I hope for, is for one more top ten hit single and solid well crafted music/albums after that. I really want to see more of Mariah the artist and not just Mariah the "number one Hot 100 chaser", or half hearted just throw some music out there singer (looking at you Save the Day). The TEOM era made people take notice of MC again. The era had everything that every artist wants: a multiple plantinum album, top charting hit singles, a sold-out tour, gorgeous and well-thought out videos, multiple awards, brillant performances, and magazine covers galore. First of all he absolutely botched E=MC2 and MOAIA promo/roll out. Then when Mariah rejoined him in Epic he said she should do covers only and basically become a legacy artist. Telling a woman who considers songwriting her primary talent to just cover other people's song was probably a blow to Mariah. That's my 2 cents so no I don't think he is the right person now.
